Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 – The Spell He Truly Wanted

Looking at his updated status panel, Logan immediately noticed that his magic level had risen to Level 5.

The Magic Enhancement Potion had worked astonishingly well.

A full level increase.

More importantly, there appeared to be absolutely no side effects whatsoever.

Excellent.

But what interested Logan even more was something else entirely.

The newly created Solar Flash possessed no proficiency ranking at all.

No beginner level.

No experience requirement.

Nothing.

That meant one of two things:

Either the spellbook granted complete mastery over any created spell instantly…

Or system-created spells simply existed outside the normal concept of proficiency entirely.

Both possibilities sounded terrifying.

Logan stared thoughtfully at the Solar Flash entry glowing faintly within the grimoire.

Honestly, he desperately wanted to test its power immediately.

Unfortunately, the Hogwarts courtyard was definitely not the ideal place to unleash a homemade forbidden spell inspired by anime flashbang attacks.

Perhaps the Room of Requirement would work later.

For now, however, another problem approached.

The next class was History of Magic.

According to older students, Professor Binns' lessons ranked among the most horrifyingly boring experiences known to wizardkind.

Still, Logan refused to underestimate any subject entirely.

Hogwarts had existed for centuries. If History of Magic remained part of the curriculum, then the class likely contained useful knowledge somewhere beneath the suffering.

....

Several hours later, Logan leaned weakly against his desk with dead eyes.

"History of Magic is awful," he muttered miserably toward Harry beside him.

"I genuinely believed there might be hidden wisdom in there somewhere."

Harry nodded immediately.

Ron looked spiritually deceased.

Professor Binns had somehow transformed historical education into a magical torture technique. His voice possessed exactly one emotional setting:

Ancient Funeral Narration.

By the end of class, nearly half the students had nearly entered comas.

Fortunately, the next lesson finally improved things considerably.

Charms.

Unlike History of Magic, many first-years genuinely looked excited for this class.

Of course, the actual lesson content remained extremely basic. Since everyone was still beginner-level students, Professor Flitwick mainly focused on helping them understand magical flow and object manipulation properly.

In simple terms:

Move things first.

Advanced spells later.

Unfortunately, this created another problem.

Logan already knew the Levitation Charm.

As a result, the entire class rapidly transformed into the Professor Flitwick Watches Logan Anderson Showcase Event.

Every time Logan demonstrated wandless casting casually, nearby students reacted like audiences watching fireworks.

"Brilliant!"

"Incredible!"

"How's he doing that?!"

Even Professor Flitwick himself became increasingly excited throughout the lesson.

The tiny Charms professor nearly bounced with enthusiasm after witnessing Logan's wandless spellcasting personally.

"Extraordinary!" he squeaked happily. "Simply extraordinary!"

Without hesitation, he awarded Gryffindor another ten points.

Then he leaned closer toward Logan and added quietly:

"If you ever encounter difficulties in Charms, Mr Anderson, you are welcome to visit me anytime."

The implication was obvious.

Private tutoring invitation acquired.

Meanwhile, Hermione sat nearby radiating silent murderous intent.

Originally, she had been extremely proud of successfully influencing object movement through magic during class.

Then Logan casually obliterated everyone's attention again.

For the entire lesson, Hermione stared at him with such terrifying focus that even Logan began feeling vaguely threatened.

Honestly…

He suddenly understood why prey animals feared predators instinctively.

Still, Logan quickly rejected the absurd thought.

What nonsense.

He was destined to become a legendary wizard someday.

Why would he fear the glare of an eleven-year-old girl?

Ridiculous.

....

After classes ended, Logan returned briefly to the Gryffindor dormitory.

The moment he entered, Ron's excited voice exploded through the room.

"Harry, you don't understand!" Ron declared passionately. "Wizard's Chess is brilliant! Once you learn the strategies properly, you'll get completely addicted!"

Harry lay on his bed looking deeply suspicious.

Honestly, Ron sounded exactly like those salesmen from Logan's previous life who tried convincing elderly people to buy miracle health supplements.

The moment Ron spotted Logan entering, his eyes lit up.

"Logan!" he shouted before immediately grabbing him dramatically. "Someone as talented as you must know Wizard's Chess, right?"

Without waiting for an answer, Ron continued rapidly:

"And even if you don't, that's fine! Come play with me! You'll definitely love it!"

Logan looked at Ron's hopeful expression before remembering something important.

He had actual priorities.

Very important priorities.

So he answered mercilessly:

"Sorry. I only came back to put away my books."

Then he added calmly:

"I'm going to the library afterwards. You can come too if you want. Personally, I think studying is more meaningful than Wizard's Chess."

Ron looked horrified.

"The library?!"

His voice cracked slightly.

"Logan, I hate reading!"

In the end, Ron firmly rejected the invitation.

Naturally, Logan never expected him to accept anyway. The invitation merely served as a polite escape method to avoid being dragged into several hours of magical chess suffering.

Soon afterwards, Logan left the dormitory alone.

Watching him depart, Ron sighed dramatically.

"I seriously don't understand him," he muttered toward Harry. "He's already ridiculously talented. Why's he still studying all the time?"

Then Ron added suspiciously:

"And honestly, he's becoming almost as weird as Hermione Granger. I heard she spends loads of time in the library too."

He narrowed his eyes.

"Do you think they arranged to meet there together?"

Harry blinked.

Honestly, Ron's tone during that final sentence sounded oddly complicated.

Still, Harry ultimately decided he was probably imagining things.

....

Libraries were sacred places.

At least, that was how Logan viewed them.

They represented the gathering point of wisdom, knowledge, and civilisation itself.

And Hogwarts Library…

Hogwarts Library was magnificent.

Its history stretched back to the very founding of the school. Endless shelves filled the enormous chamber from floor to ceiling, containing countless magical books, theories, spell records, creature studies, alchemical research, and hidden secrets.

Naturally, first-year students lacked permission to access genuinely dangerous material.

The Restricted Section remained heavily monitored for obvious reasons. Many dark magic books possessed corruptive influence capable of leading weak-minded wizards astray entirely.

Access required professor approval.

Still, Logan currently possessed little interest in ordinary dark magic anyway.

Because honestly…

No matter how dangerous black magic became, could it truly compare to the forbidden spells created by the grimoire system?

The difference was simple.

Dark magic still obeyed normal magical logic.

The spellbook rewrote reality itself.

The true issue was cost.

Every single Legendary Point was painfully precious.

That was why Logan believed future forbidden spells must prioritise quality over quantity.

One perfect spell outweighed dozens of mediocre ones.

A lion did not fear individual ants.

But enough ants together could devour a lion alive.

Thus, every future spell required careful planning and optimisation.

Eventually, Logan arrived before the towering bookshelves of Hogwarts Library and momentarily froze from sheer scale alone.

The place truly deserved its legendary reputation.

Honestly, if possible, Logan would gladly move a bed into the library permanently and live there forever.

Slowly, he began walking between the shelves searching for books regarding advanced Transfiguration theory.

At the same time, however, another clear objective remained fixed in his mind.

He needed to learn an extremely important defensive spell.

Protego.

The Shield Charm.
