" Don't move. Tell me where you came from and show me your identity." Said a guard wearing silver metal armour. City guards were startled seeing magic circle forming out of knowhere in front of the city gate.
Ruth introduced her self to city guard , " my name is Ruth, a silver rank adventurer." Before the city guard can ask for more questions there people arrived one of them looked in his late fifties with long black and white beard that reached till chest bone, was wearing brown long loose rob enhanced with magic. He had a long wand that can be also used as support for walking, adorned with a white pearl. He looked at city guard said " there is no need for further enquiries, and if you will kind enough to call the captain James as soon as possible."
The city guard replied immediately " I will inform him immediately." In which the old man nodded. He looked at Ruth and said " please follow me " a he walked in front and two guys following him were non other than both guild masters.
As they were climbing the stairs on city wall said, you might not know me so I will introduce myself, "my name is Merlin guardian of this city , my job is to protect the city and nothing else."
As they reached the top of the city wall it was empty land with some trees here and there but most of it was, only if someone looked at south a green belt can be seen.
A young man in his early thirties, wearing tailored garments fitted the body comfortably without pinchin or restricting movement and top on that he had long strips made of spider silk wrapped around his hands and legs.
James reading the situation said " how much time we have, and what are we up against." All of them looked at Ruth , getting the clue she explained everything she watched and witnessed to them.
" I have informed the city management for evacuating normal citizens in safe area and not let to anyone exit the city and made sure that no one is out of the city right now , excluding the scouting team." Said James
Both guild masters had already informed their members about the situation were allready prepared near the city gate for the upcoming battle. Guards started to check and positioning large Cross bows and magic Cannons.
Inside the forest,
The monsters dead bodies were piling up as Selena used one spell after another and also keeping checkmate on the man faced spider. Seeing he needed to intervene star dire wolf finally made his appearance and ran towards Selena jumping high only attack on protective sheild.
The protective sheild didn't get destroyed but it pushed back Selena back to the cliff were she landed like a true diva. She looked at her husband said " I want to return home beside my baby as soon possible. I am feeling little uneasy."
" Yes, I understand my love. I will try to make it as fast as possible." After saying that Cedar started growing in height, his body Started transforming long black claws , two horns protruding from his head. Black scales all over his body and like typical dragnoids he hadn't wings which made him look like an abomination.
Watching this transformation Albert, Morris and Jasmine all of them got shocked, Jasmine said in a low voice isn't that speciality of dragnoids."
Cedar was almost more than 3 meter tall chuckled showing big pointy teeths and said, " that is right, I am a dragonoid. " He gripped his feets in ground and than jumped straight towards the star dire wolf. Force used in jump brock the cliff which was almost 300 meter High but everyone landed safely as they were captured in mid air by Selena and landed on their feet in middle of the monsters.
All monsters climbing on cliff got buried under the fallen cliff. As the star wolf who was allready got up after hitting hard on the sheild , jumped sideways immediately and howled in pain as there was long lashes of claw marks started from the neck to the ended at it's hind leg.
As the star dire wolf turned behind it sees that the enemy had opened had opened wide mouth and before it could realise , a black concentrated beam shot it on the face. Half of the face of the black and purple dire wolf which almost double the size of the Cedar had , half of his face blown away.
It's last memories of the life ended in pitiful experience , large claws teared the neck and head got detached from the body.
Jasmine watching both Morris and Albert in a daze said " you should be more helpful and try to kill the remaining monsters "
Both of them got on their senses real quick and started to fight the monsters.
On the other hand Selena was standing against the man faced spider, it screeched and shotted dark fluid from its mouth. Selena in response used telekinesis and caught every drop of it and released it on the nearby monsters . All the Man faced spiders and dire wolves which came in contact with the fluid got melted down.
She got bent down and touched the surface with one hand and murmured " lava burst" a dim red light started rush towards the man faced spider and also getting wider as it got near it. After a second of silance , Lava burst forth envoloping the giant 4 meter high and 6 meter long man faced spider , burning the body faster than it's own regeneration
Selena finished it off by using another spell , " fire storm" made it look like a scene from hell. It's body got burnt until only monster core remained of what it used to be."
Even after the death of both boss monsters died, minions didn't scattered. Jasmine watching monsters still fighting said, " Are not they scared of death? , why are they still fighting?"
" Because someone is controlling them from behind the scene, we can't waste more time on them. We will try to reach the city as soon as possible." Said Selena
Before they can try to get out of there, three humanoid figures came out of from the bushes. All three of them wore black cloaks , covering their whole body on of the three who was walking on front said " I knew you both were powerful, but you both exceeded my expectations.
He spoke in little annoying voice " you ruined my plan, but as always I have a backup plan and I can't let you interfere in it. " His body Started shaking as he spoke with in his voice " So you have to stay".
City Wall
As evening was approaching , the full moon had already been risen . Moon was slightly red colored today as a last remaining red sun light touched it's surface looked like it new allready that tonight it was going be a blood bath.
" They are here" said Merlin
A wave could be seen from the city wall as it was coming near and near every second. James got ready and shouted " everyone be ready, magic cannon and cross bow users aim at the centre of the monsters, only fire when I tell you. Be ready."
Large almost 3 meter tall iron bears could be seen towards them , accompanied by goblins with three to four feet in height.
As they reached almost near the range of 800 meter, James ordered " Fire, don't hold back. " As magic arrows fired, each arrow got multiplied by five and landed on monsters.
The magic cannon even destroyed the the defence of iron bears, destroying their fur on par with iron defence.
Arthur and Tharg seeing only two calamity monsters and their minions understood, that both Selena and Cedar had already reduced the enemies by a huge number.
They both jumped down from the city wall against the incoming monster wave . Arthur was one handed swordsman with average height of six feet , having charming face without any beard and long black hair tied on back. He liked wearing loose white clothes and no any other weapons or any armour . he was someone who believed in speed with a mind set of , if you hit someone first and hard than you will definitely win.
He lifted his sword upward and waited until monsters came in radius of hundred meters and slashed downward , creating a huge red slash rushing towards monsters , cutting evrything in half that came in its path.
Tharg was also no less than him with golden hair and cat like ears , and orange strips on both sides of face. He was tiger man (beast man) known for its strength and speed, he had a height as same as Cedar. Only wearing pants and nothing on the chest , leaving it open.
He crouched down and filled mana in both of his feets and launched like a missile, using both of his hands , he teared down everything like paper on his way with his big powerful claws coated with yellow mana.
All the adventurers and hunters watching their leaders also got motivated every one of them who was professional in close combat also joined them in front lines
