After the spatial fluctuations subsided, everyone except Leopold and the members of the Black Bulls had been teleported away.
"This is Spatial Magic. It seems we've been relocated," Captain Nozel said as he assessed the situation.
They had clearly been moved elsewhere by the enemy's Spatial Magic.
However, Fuegoleon had not been sent with them. There was a chance he had escaped.
After being swallowed by the void, Fuegoleon found himself in a white, unfamiliar dimension. It was clear he had been caught within Spatial Magic.
"You've finally arrived, Crimson Lion Captain, Fuegoleon."
"You are Gold."
It was Rades Spirito.
"It seems things have finished," Cedric said, setting down the harp before casually stuffing bread into his mouth.
"Come on, Noelle, let's go find that short guy Asta."
Riding the Nimbus 2000, Cedric used his Mana Sensing to search for Leopold's presence.
As for Asta, he had no mana at all. There was nothing to detect. Cedric could only assume he was lost.
"Brother! Where did you take my brother?" Leopold shouted into the empty surroundings, but no one responded.
Normally, Spatial Magic could not be cast from extremely far away. So where exactly was that spatial mage hiding?
Asta narrowed his eyes and thought carefully. Could it be? No, that seemed impossible.
"Come out!"
He drove his greatsword into a pile of corpses, and suddenly, one of the rotting bodies stood up.
"To think you saw through my disguise. Ladros, we should leave. Our objective has been completed."
The corpse disguise tore away, revealing Valtos standing atop the roof.
He activated his Spatial Magic, but something was wrong. He couldn't relocate Ladros.
That troublesome Anti-Magic again.
"You sinners who attacked the Royal Capital, my brother will definitely return and capture all of you!" Leopold shouted furiously.
Valtos glanced down at him calmly. It would not be long now. That man's strength had never disappointed them.
Suddenly, a spatial rift opened in midair.
A figure fell out of it and slammed heavily onto the ground.
"Brother!"
It was Fuegoleon Vermillion.
His eyes had lost all light, and blood poured from his wounds, staining the ground crimson.
"It's done. Ladros, retreat."
"Valtos, there are still two brats left. Why not just kill them?"
"Remember our objective, Ladros."
Spatial Magic formed beneath Ladros's feet again.
Asta reacted instantly. He thrust his Anti-Magic sword straight into the spell, disrupting the teleportation, then pulled out his other greatsword and slammed it into Ladros.
"I won't let you escape!"
"Damn it, the teleportation isn't working."
Valtos frowned slightly. Ladros was still valuable. It seemed he would have to call for backup.
"Chef, run! The fire is about to spread here!"
"Bastard! As a chef, how can I abandon a dish halfway through? A first-class chef must complete the dish no matter the circumstances!" he shouted while sprinkling seasoning into a large pot.
"Besides, the Magic Knight still hasn't tasted my main course."
Nearby, Charmy Pappitson stared at the pot with sparkling eyes, drool practically falling as she smiled brightly.
No one around dared to argue.
Was this Magic Knight really an elite attending the award ceremony?
"Not enough mana again. Mana..."
A black-robed witch scanned the sky, searching for young mana.
"Hmm? There's a good one over there."
She floated down in front of a noble couple.
"Tell me, am I the most beautiful? I look far better than that sow beside you."
The man held the woman protectively. "Don't be afraid, I'll protect you."
"Aaaah! You're just a sow. Stop pretending to be cute!"
Threads of magic wrapped around the woman. Her body visibly aged, while the witch's face grew younger.
"Am I beautiful?"
"What did you do, you monster!"
The witch grabbed his face tightly. "Who are you calling a monster? Die."
The man rapidly aged as well.
The witch mounted her broom and flew onward, draining the youth of everyone in her path.
"That place... there's more young mana there."
"The main course is ready. Please try it, Magic Knight. This is my masterpiece."
The chef presented an extravagant layered dish.
"Invincible Seafood and Mountain Delicacy Pasta Castle."
Charmy picked up her fork and took a bite. "Delicious."
"Mana, young mana. It's getting closer."
Bang.
A wall collapsed as the black-robed witch appeared, staring greedily at Charmy's youthful face.
"Give it to me. Give your youth to me!"
Steal food? Did she just try to steal my food?
"Cotton Creation Magic: Strike of the Sleeping Sheep."
The witch's mana-draining threads were instantly devoured by the giant sheep Charmy summoned.
A single bashful iron punch knocked the witch completely unconscious.
Charmy steadied her plate and continued eating as if nothing had happened.
"It's complete chaos outside. Where is Julius? Why hasn't he come to protect me?" a short, stout man wearing a crown shouted angrily.
"Your Majesty, the Wizard King is currently away. This area is completely safe," Marx Francois replied nervously, wiping sweat from his forehead.
Why do I always get assigned this kind of ridiculous job? Master Julius, where are you? Please hurry and fix this mess.
The king, Augustus Kira Clover XIII, pressed the woman beside him down casually.
"I understand. When Julius returns, have him come see me. I'm busy with official matters now. You may leave."
"Cedric, are we almost there? Asta will be fine, right?" Noelle's voice carried a hint of worry.
Cedric smirked slightly, glancing ahead.
"Relax, princess. If anything happens, I'll handle it. But if you're that nervous, you can stay close to me. I don't mind protecting you personally."
Noelle's face flushed faintly. "W-Who said I needed your protection!"
Cedric chuckled. "Sure you don't."
He pointed forward. "There he is. Asta's already beating the hell out of them."
Asta was in the middle of combat, using Anti-Magic to disrupt Spatial Magic while relentlessly attacking Ladros.
Then Noelle's gaze shifted.
"That's Captain Fuegoleon!"
Tears instantly welled up in her eyes as she saw him lying motionless.
Cedric's expression darkened.
The Magic Stone had been taken. One of Fuegoleon's arms was gone. They needed someone with healing magic immediately.
Damn it.
None of them had recovery magic.
His bread could restore mana, but it couldn't stop bleeding.
Was the Crimson Lion Captain really going to die here?
"Cedric, Captain Fuegoleon's grimoire is disappearing!"
The red grimoire began to crumble into ash, piece by piece.
Fuegoleon's face grew paler.
Cedric clenched his jaw.
If only he had learned healing magic, he wouldn't have to stand here and watch this happen.
Finally, the grimoire shattered completely into particles.
"Brother! I don't care who you are. I, Leopold, swear I will kill you all! I'll hunt down every last one of you filthy rats!"
"Fire Magic: Spiral Flame!"
A blazing pillar of fire surged toward Valtos.
"Are the reinforcements not here yet? Every single one of them is useless," Valtos muttered coldly.
"Valtos, it seems you've run into trouble."
Several figures appeared on the rooftop.
They wore white robes decorated with golden cloud patterns shaped like eyes.
"The mission is already complete, yet these pests still interfere. Ladros is becoming more disappointing. He can't even handle children from the Black Bulls."
"It seems we'll have to step in."
The figures moved into formation, surrounding Cedric and the others in a star pattern.
Magic bullets of multiple attributes filled the air, locking onto their targets.
