Chapter 29 - WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO STAY

Now it vividly obvious that Isla visit to Albion was much more than the intended deal.

No doubt, she was up to some dubious plot. Her time was due. She should currently be at the soil of Caledonia. But things were different. The table had probably turned over. Isla was staying. It has been confirmed.

The king of Albion definitely had some hidden cards in hand and Isla was the most effective amid all. It was foolish of people to think that the monarch would give up on his quest of finding the trident. No! he can't. Not after he had clearly sworn by his grandfather grave.

The palace was about to flame up in heat. Isla was the assigned assassin designated to eliminate the culprit.

She was the king hidden card. Prince Luther had strongly opposed this. He didn't and never bought the idea. It wasn't happening, never! he told himself. Father, you can't do this, he countered, during one of the few argument that erupted between father and son. She is just a princess! How on earth do you expect her to fish out such confidential issues.

Luther went head to head with his father. The king invented a laughter, grinning his teeth at Luther foolishness. Well! You right son. Of course, she is just a princess, the king stated like he was going to buy into Luther words. That same little princess has you call her is was way more smarter than your empty dumbass skull.

You are no way near her intellect son, so just give up on this. Luther felt his shoulder dropping at his father words. They came to him, hitting so hard like a stray bullet. He knew it. Father wouldn't let this slide by without including a negative clause. He felt degraded, looking heavily derailed. When will he start earning the respect he deserves?

Without any further words, he walks out from his fathers presence, looking all sad and bitter. The king had washed down his pride and dignity. He maneuvered into his room, sitting on the bare floor, buying loads of thoughts in mind. The night came and passed by. A bright and beautiful morning came alive. Jay was opening his day in a hectic manner. The numerous neigh of the horse was capitalizing through his ear. He had to feed them all before the afternoon sun.

The white horse was his favorite. That was the historical horse he rode during the trident retrieval. Jay kept the horse in high respect and saw it as a special breed. Yes! It was safe to say he was biased. He knew he was but, didn't feel bad about it. To him, it was a matter of choice.

You seem to be in love with the white man, Isla voice came from behind.

Jay smiled cutely. Yes you right. This guy here is my favorite of all, he indirectly referred to the horse. What a pure soul, she meekly said. White is purity, a symbol of hope, strength and power.

You must be Jay, isla confirmed. Yes I am, he replied in a short quote. I can sense the aroma of wisdom in your blood. You look quite smart and demure.

Jay was observant. This was quite unusual. It had to be investigated. Jay knew the norms. He was quite familiar with it. A princess as adorable and popular as Isla won't come over to a servant like him for a mere casual chat. There must be probably some string attached. He knew she had flagged him. Isla was indeed smart but Jay was a wisdom wit.

He was too intellect to be tricked. He could perceive the forced tenderness coming beneath her heavy breath. What was her game about? Perhaps , he could just pretend and play along. I heard your father is the most renowned hunter in the entire kingdom. Yes, he surely is. He spoke so short, trying all he could to render her clueless but Isla would stop at nothing , making sure her hook caught some fish.

How come you working as a servant, your father is surely a remarkable man. I doubt he loved the idea. It was the king! He insisted on me coming over. You know how royal orders are, you can't seem to decline them. He is definitely not cutting the coat for me, Isla thought. She could feel it. Jay was cautiously resisting, making it seem like he was not.

She had to hit a hard spot if she wants to force those words out of Jay. I heard the brave little boy who retrieve the lost trident was you. Is that a fact? Isla questioned, picking up a more arguable topic. How did you know about that, asked Jay surprised. Isla cracked a quick laughter, adjusting her hair pin.

Even from far Caledonia, your name roared, gaining dominance across the kingdom. We were all eager to get a clue of the situation. I personally wanted to meet the brave heart who embarked and successfully completed such tragic task. Here I am with you warrior. Jay shined his teeth out in self defense.

You must be mistaken princess. I'm just a commoner and nothing close to a warrior. But your father was a warrior, so should you the son be. My father is like a hard rock. I'm just some worthless pebbles. I'm not in anyway special. But your father couldn't retrieve the trident, you did. Isla gave him a quick notice.

Yes I did but, I guessed it just happened, Jay commented. Things like this don't just happen coincidentally. They occurred because you made them possible. Your father is no match to you, she added. The atmosphere was getting tensed. Isla was in full dominance. She had everything under control, slowly breaking Jay counter defense.

All night, all day, I have been thinking, she blinked her eyes twice and proceeded. I can't stop thinking about the question floating inside my mind. She glued her eyes to his, hoping to see a sudden change in his body countenance but Jay had hid them properly. Any impromptu change from him would give Isla an upper edge.

I have been wanting to ask. Who are you? I doubt you are like us. What do you mean, I don't catch your statement, he said shielding his anxiety in smiles. Isla drew closer to him, perhaps that would make his hidden emotion reflect.. The valley of snake is no place for mere mortals.

Even jungle lords have no chance. But you didn't just went in.

You as well came back with the trident. Can you explain that? At this point, saliva was greasing down Jay throat. He was in an helpless state. She was digging him too deep, pressuring him to spill out. At last, it was Hannah. She had came to the rescue.

Jay she called aloud. Luther… i mean prince Luther, he wants to you in his chamber this instant.

Hannah made it looks real, pretending to be gasping for breath. Hannah had saved his ass from the turbulent tragedy that Isla was about to drive him into.
