Chapter 33 - DO YOU HAVE MAGIC

The room was dark and filled with complete silence.

Only the secretive ray of the sun reflected through the crossed bar window.

His eyes were dark, filled with complete darkness.

The black veil wrapped around his entire face made it hard for him to see the nearest object.

Was this an intended investigation?

Yea it was! He popped out a lucrative smile beneath the black veil.

They are not to blame, he thought. Isla must have felt like a spectacular heroine.

She must have hyped her intelligence above the sky. Catching the culprit who was believed to have stolen the trident must sound like an act of justice.

Should he test proof his power? He could disappear out of the room and vanish into the thin air.

He could take out dozens and scores of guards in the blink of an eye.

But such irrational action, he needed not.

It would only make Isla look more decorated and worthy of her claim.

Bang! Bang! Bang! The door slide open, inviting the footstep of a female.

It certainly no one but Isla. Who else would look more eager to pay him a not too good visit if not her.

Isla surveyed the entire room, laughing for absolutely no reason.

She must be going mad, Jay furiously thought.

Or better still, eager to question him about the trident whereabout.

She spin her figure around the round table, tickling her long nails around the metallic table.

She slowly unleashed the veil around the prey, making his ray of sight come to light.

Jay hand were heavily tied. His hands were completely stagnant and stiff.

And here arrives the witch of all witches. She sank her annoying buttock into the chair.

Her face lines were looking gentle and calm but deep down she was burning hot in desperation.

She needed answer but wasn't seeing them in Jay eyes.

Are you happy now, Jay ignited the conversation.

Happy? Isla recapped, throwing four rounds of fresh grapes into her mouth.

The word "happy" doesn't apply to people like me.

Why not, Jay questioned. You always end up catching the bad guys, get heavily praised and rewarded as the kingdom best heroine.

Im afraid you got the wrong impression of me. I was never happy.

Not for once! You called me a heroine? I'm nothing close to that.

Im just a smart weird daughter been used as a tool by her father.

My smart mind should be the one getting the credit, not me.

Jay could sense a flicker of emotion in her heart.

She sounded so down and bitter. But why?

She has all the good things of life at her disposal.

Never knew the great Isla of Caledonia was a born sorcerer.

Hell no! Isla disagreed. You must have heard of a clan named "THE FACELESS"

They were getting on my father nerves, constantly troubling his state of mind.

I had no other choice rather than eliminate the intended threat.

The Faceless clan practiced all sought of magical ability. I was a snake in their midst.

A chameleon in the territory of lions.

I stroke their heart, played with their intelligence and make them confide in me.

Only if they were a bit logical. They perhaps would have seen how deep my venom stings.

You want some grape, Isla teased two pieces of fresh grape at Jay.

Isla was obviously tossing around the coin.

Shes digging an avenue, trying to generate an answer to a question she never asked.

Jay was getting sick of the prompted delay. He needed Isla to dive into the race.

What exactly is the main lead, he phased out.

Dive into the main point, beautiful princess, he complemented in annoyance.

Isla chucked and slowly smuggled the wine grape into her mouth.

She announced her investigation entry, decorating it with beautiful but poisonous flowers.

The unknown son of Cole who sprouted out the confidence and hardened his soul, making his way into the mysterious valley of snakes.

The sixteen year old hero who pulled out the thrusted trident and smuggled it back to Albion.

He established himself as a savior. The hope the people never saw coming.

Isla summarized Jay plight in a jiffy. She readjusted her buttock, pulling out the hairpin in her head.

Do you have magic? Isla punched the heart breaking question on his face, unleashing her venomous idea in sequence.

The question was something Jay had prepared and predicted but it still sounded strange to his hearing. He brushed out a smile out of his mouth chamber, hoping to defend himself.

No I don't, he replied briefly. Then how did you fished out the trident from such protected confinement.

Jay trimmed his face downward in outmost anxiety.

He had plan just one statement out of his lips and that was a typical No!

His lips should be sealed for his mind to align. You can't fool me Jay.

I might be feeble and young but I'm no dullard.

Im way more advanced in wisdom, beating even the so called great scholars.

You should learn to deduce yourself appraisal "my princess "

Extremely smart minds don't brag. They only prove points through positive action, Jay craved out his points.

"Hmm". Isla sighed, folding her hand in between her chest.

Perhaps Jay was much smarter than she thought. The trident is no joke or ridicule, Isla pinch forward.

Only he who it found worthy would be engraved with it power and it inner wisdom.

You victoriously flagged out the trident because it choose you.

A fact that leads to my final conclusion. You are no ordinary being "Jay "

I don't know what you are but I promise to find out, she dimmed her eye, hoping to see a man who seems quite and mysterious.

Jay refuse to bow to her heavy wave. He stood his ground firm.

I gave you an answer. I am no magician neither am I a sorcerer.

Unlike you, I have no magic.

Isla was beginning to loose her cool. Her head seem to be generating excess level of heat.

She was getting furious. Jay was proving too stubborn a victim.

Violence is the only key, she concluded.

It was the only way to crack our the hidden power in Jay.

Isla angrily rosed up from her sit and spat in the floor, commanding all sought of magical spell in language no one could understand.

The seven ring enchantment went for Jay neck, gripping it firm like a suicide rope.

She choked him, pressuring him to speak out where he hid the trident.

Jay mouth were sealed up. He choked slowly, refusing to give in to the seven ring enchantment.

What sought of man is he? In Isla years of interrogation, she had never applied force on her prey.

Jay was the first ever.
