The ride back was torture.
My eyes stung with unshed tears but I couldn't bring myself to let them out. Not in his presence.
I justed wanted to be alone.
I snuggled into the huge black jacket draped over my shoulder, inhaling the comforting scent that it was soaked in.
It was the closest I could ever allow myself to be with him and something tells me that he knew that very much.
And somehow, that made everything worse
than it already felt.
The car raced down the empty road in silence, the only sound being the soft hum of the car engine.
He didn't say anything. Didnt address the new information from the seer or the little breakdown I had in front of his house.
He just ….drove.
The darkness beyond the window blurred into streaks of black and silver from street lights, the towering trees rushing past faster than my thoughts could settle.
Incomplete.
The word echoed relentlessly inside my head.
Not wrong but Incomplete.
A bitter laugh almost escaped my lips.
