Chapter 40 - One Against A Thousand

A mountain shines on my head.

Becoming a mountain of stability in my heart.

So I stand before myself.

Not as the guard.

But as Satya.

Satya stood, holding a spear and shield.

Except now his grip on them was lessening, when finally.

Ting.

A sound of metal hitting rocks resounds.

One of the stone statues moves.

The stone peeling off him like a cover of skin.

He stands tall, his eyes gazing at the darkness.

His armor changes to a magnificent robe, a bit black but mostly white.

All the shadows around him react.

A frail hand presses on his shoulder.

An old man talks from behind.

"Took you long enough."

His face filled with a smile and his eyes focused on the mountain symbol.

Satya's shadow stirs as Twilight pulls back his hand quickly.

A step forward makes him whole once again.

The guards turn their heads with an amazed gaze.

A moment of silence fills the void.

But at the next moment, a spear is thrown.

Satya's instinct reacted faster than he did.

A smile rises in the guard's face.

A drop of blood slithers down Satya's cheek.

His face was adorned with a small cut.

A sense of victory creates another challenge.

The battle of one Against A Thousand begins in earnest.

A scream of cacophony resounds all around as thousands of stone soldiers move with one intent.

To kill the exception.

Their true goal remains unknown.

But a hint of desperation is seen in their actions.

Satya quickly jumps.

Tens of spears get lodged in the spot he had stood a second ago.

But even the air isn't a safe spot as arrows surround Satya.

The next moment a tentacle of shadow grabs his feet and shoves him to the far end of the bridge.

"What the hell... Shadow."

A huge hole forms in the ground.

As Satya opens his mouth to say another word, a spear comes crashing down.

Piercing Satya's right arm and pinning him in place.

A sharp pain pulses through Satya's head.

But he has to move.

No.

He needs to move.

He quickly rolls, the spear getting lodged even deeper into his hand.

An explosion occurs from Satya was just standing.

Mud and dirt smear all over Satya.

From the explosion rises a figure.

It's a stone soldier.

It raises its spear to strike Satya, but at the next moment, its head gets pierced by a spear that is painted red with blood.

"Now it's my turn, you fucks."

Satya says spitting out some blood.

He quickly picks up the spear from the broken statue and jumps out.

From the perspective of the soldiers.

A man of shadows rises from the crater.

A spear in his hand.

A soldier takes a step towards him.

Only to get his head blown to bits by the spear.

"What does it matter if I can't use magic to track you down.

Did you pricks even give me a few moments to actually learn how to use offensive magic?"

It's a massacre.

Satya appears as a shadow. for

At one place for a moment and another place at the next.

After destroying around 400 statues.

Satya finally gets cornered.

Hundreds of statues lunge at him only to get pushed back.

But the pusher isn't unscathed either.

Innumerable cuts scar his skin.

A pool of blood was forming beneath him.

But the thing that sends chills down the spine of even stone is.

Satya is smiling.

Bathed in his own blood.

Tattered and broken.

He is smiling.

"IT'S NOT OVER TILL I SAY SO."

Satya screams at the top of his lungs.

Rushing at the remaining statues, Satya breaks some of them and gets broken in return.

All that covers his mind is kill or be killed.

Satya finally knew eels.

All of his tendons were cut and his legs broken.

He kneels.

The remaining hundred or so statues reach out to him.

Trying to become just like him.

Or to make him one of them.

Pain and pain.

All that covers Satya's mind is pain.

There is only one intent left in his mind and that is to destroy.

With his slivered mouth a few words are said.

The next second the atmosphere changes.

Air currents rush wildly.

The fog is pushed back to reveal the starry sky.

The eyes in the sky glitter a bit.

Only then is the sound finally heard by the world.

"The winds that destroy all they touch.

PAVAN ASTRA"

{The world nudges me once again.

Yet I do not falter.

I nudged it back with my might.

Because even if I fall.

I won't run again.}
