"Hey...
HEY..."
"Huh.."
Satya looks around confused.
"What are you spacing out for?"
A guard near him points a finger at him and Satya looks at him dazedly. An ocean of memories floods into his brain.
He clutches his head.
A woman appears in his memories.
"Look at our son, isn't he so cute?"
Satya looks to his right to see his young son crawling to him.
"Da..Da"
.....
"Come here..."
Satya says with a smile on his face.
Another memory rushes in.
"Isn't this job too boring?"
A guard standing next to him on the bridge says.
"Standing still all day and guarding a bridge no one uses.,"
Satya looks at him for a moment before giving a nod of agreement.
"It is, but there must be a purpose to it."
The guard looks at Satya with a weird expression.
The memory cuts out there.
"What's your name guard.."
A strict-looking officer asks Satya in a commanding voice. Satya is standing on the bridge that no one uses, except this time there are people on it.
"Saty.."
Satya tries to say his name in a low voice but he is interrupted by the superior.
"Speak louder.... I can't hear you."
The superior reprimands Satya.
But hearing these words, Satya's eyes lose focus for a bit before returning to how they used to be.
"I AM ANSH, THE GUARD OF THE BRIDGE SIR..."
Satya speaks in a loud voice.
Satya is slowly losing his sense of himself.
"Ahh"
Satya wakes up screaming. A gentle woman is sleeping next to him. She quickly pulls him into her embrace.
"What happened Ansh?"
She says in a soothing voice that makes Satya's eyes lose focus for a bit again.
"It's nothing, I just had a weird dream. Preferably a nightmare"
"Love dreams are just dreams, aren't you the guard of the bridge?"
"Yes I am the guard of the bridge, I have always been."
Days pass on like this.
One night while looking at the giant mountain. A sharp pain pulses between his eyebrows.
A question arises in his mind.
"What was the name of the bridge?"
Satya couldn't answer this question.
He ran to the Black Bridge in the middle of the night.
At the end, which was never visible to him, was visible to him.
Satya could finally tell.
It was [The Bridge Of The Shrine].
The second the word Shrine leaves Satya's mouth.
A sharp pain pulses in his head.
Lost memories flood his muddled head.
In the middle of that pain.
Satya runs towards the end of the bridge.
Many figures come in front of him to stop him.
His colleagues, his friends and at the end his wife and newborn son.
Satya slows down for a bit.
"I am thankful for the time with you.. but I don't belong here, so it's a farewell..."
Giving a quick farewell to all of them Satya jumps on the familiar mound of the shrine.
The world gets enveloped by shadows.
"Traveller...
Traveller.....
SATYA..."
The sound of his name resounds.
A mountain glows softly on his forehead.
Satya finds himself standing on the bridge just as a guard with a spear and shield in his hands.
His two identities conflict inside him.
Shattering what constitutes him.
But the only thing truly keeping him still whole is his anchor.
The mountain.
{Lived a life full of love.
But still felt something amiss.
Because even if a place is the most wonderful.
If I don't belong there.
It was never meant for me.}
