Chapter 28 - Trail Of Blood

The second Satya merged with [The Shadow] , he had lost most of himself as a human.

.......

[Release]

As [The Shadow] said those words, Satya's senses were released once again.

But even before the world could be felt by him, there came a huge wave of pain, the next second, through his shadow sense, he realised, he was still in the darkness of shadows, but it was not comforting any more.

Looking around, he found himself stuck in something resembling rubble.

He was laying in a pool of something sticky, with a scent of iron, just like a liquid.

It was blood.

Satya, covered in injuries, laying in the pool of his own blood, was stuck under the rubble of what seemed to be a collapsed building.

A normal human would be turned to mush by the weight of the stone rubble that was on Satya,

He himself was not unscathed either.

But the thing was Satya injuries weren't caused by the collapsing building, the stone was never sharp enough to hurt Satya.

His injuries seemed to be a mix of slashes, claw marks, but they didn't seem direct, more like damage caused by shockwave, just like residue.

His body was a mangled mush of blood and shadows.

"Huaaaaarhhh"

With all his strength, Satya cleared out the rubble covering him.

His injuries were covered by shadows, stopping them from bleeding anymore.

He himself was regenerating at an incredible rate.

Most of his superficial injuries would be healed by morning.

Now, that he was moving his body, he recognized that many of his bones were broken and his blood vessels were erupted.

He was wondering how was he even alive, just then he noticed, countless shadows holding his broken bones in place and trying to repair his broken body.

Even though Satya's body was healing, he was not happy at the Shadows covering him, because he noticed something.

For there was a saying that nothing in this world is without a price,

It was true indeed.

One of Satya's blood vessels had turned into a tangible shadow, the meaning it held frightened Satya to his core.

Thus was the price.

...

About 20 minutes had passed since Satya had gotten out of the rubble.

He was sitting out in the open, surrounded by a thick white mist from all sides.

While organising his thoughts and recuperating, Satya finally found out where the rubble had once belonged to.

It had belonged to the once used to be house, under whose shade Satya had sought shelter.

Now it was just stones and dirt.

But the odd thing Satya noticed while absent mindedly gazing at the rubble was.

The rubble was moving, albeit hidden from the normal eye, in the background, just like the revolving forest.

But its intention was different, it was willing itself to once again be the house it used to be.

Just like everything around Satya was doing.

The place where [The Thing] was, is now nothing more than a giant crater extending in a single direction.

Satya tried asking [The Shadow] about what had happened, but it too had closed its mouth.

Silence and Silence, what was happening all around the world was silence,

The world, just like the shadow, was hiding many secrets.

It seemed to move according to its own plans, thus Satya did the same.

He moved forward once again.

Albeit his speed was slow, due to the many injuries covering him.

He still took the steps filled with pain.

Because at least the pain wasn't hiding anything.

It was displaying itself to Satya as it was, and perhaps that was what Satya needed.

So he took another step, then another and another.

Soon many houses came into view, yet the distance in between them and Satya never lessened a bit.

Yet Satya still walked perhaps because the pain was the only real thing left to him.

Just then, One of the houses as if acknowledging Satya's pain started lessening it's distance.

Soon Satya reached the house, he looked back.

To the endless horizon of white mist in the distance, the world was marked by a trail of blood.

A trail shouting to the world that he too will walk his own path, albeit Shall it be a path of blood.

{The world full of illusions,

turns away from me.

So I walk towards the only thing,

Still true to me.}
