Hector was sure he had just taken his last breath some few minutes ago and now here he was alive.
Leaving the alley where he found himself, though he appeared to be in the body of a teenager but this body seemed to be bruised and battered not to talk of being short and somewhat skinny too.
'I should probably get something to eat or I would probably die again from hunger'
He discovered that he happened to be in the a environment that looked like a market at least how he saw it being illustrated in the historical movies he forced himself to watch sometimes,since in their world you could just order everything you need from your house and have it delivered to you.
'What the hell is this'
Looking around him he realized all the house were not what he always,they were made from bricks and woods,and they aren't even that high,he couldn't see a single story building here
' what the hell,are those people carrying staffs'
'Is this what I am thinking it is, and those stones on that merchants table'
After piercing everything together he realized what the world he had reincarnated into was,first this wasn't his world and secondly this is a magical world
'ooh this is so great if I can't learn any awakening in my former life then I would be able to learn magic,one person can't be that unfortunate, right'
Suddenly realizing that hunger would kill him before he was able to learn even one spell he quickly started his scavenge for food.
'It would be bad to steal so I would just go into the nearest forest to kill something to eat.'
Turning towards his left with a blind hope of finding a forest he started walking towards that direction and on his way he studied his environment, maybe the realization of reincarnation didn't make him recognize his environment bit now that he looked closer,he realized his environment was just as shity as he was,it seemed he had reincarnated into a slum,there was dirt everywhere he turned,all the people living here were thin and skinny,wearing tattered clothes even the food being sold seemed to be rotting somehow.
'What is this,why can't I just be lucky for once,why can't I just reincarnate into the body of a powerful dying noble,my luck is very bad'
Walking even faster to get out of this damn place as even the air seemed to be suffocating him,it tasted like chemical, walking past a store he overhead a conversation
"Have you heard,the academy would be coming to find if any of this rats has any magic affinity in about two weeks or so"
"Uh,I heard"
'Oh,so it really is a magical world with people awakening magical affinity,that's great'

After walking a few more meters he finally saw something that looked like a forest but by that time he was already dead tired and sweating buckets
'What the'
This body can't even handle walking a few meters, even if I have no awakening in my former world I still had great physical abilities, this is very bad'
Sitting beside a nearby tree to rest,he soon started the real business of hunting,finding a stick suitable for whacking he dragged it along with him into the forest.
The deeper he went the more darker it became,it was sort of a strange forest but the most annoying thing is he hadn't even found a single prey,even no matter how small or big.
Just then a large leopard like animal with four horns two on both side arranged one behind the other and standing on his hind limbs with a hand made from crab pincers and a mouth full of overgrown fangs though it had no tail
'You unlucky fool,you will be my dinner,'
Hector dashed towards the monster,or what it would have meant to dash since he was practically walking while dragging the wood with him
The beast lunged at him with it's spincer and just moment away from closing it on the poor kid,Hector threw himself down lying down flat to dogde the pincers by just an inch,rolling to the side he was able to avoid the pincer slamming into the ground again
Quickly getting up he lifted the wood and slammed it against the beast pinscers but the wood gave way instead, shattering into splinters on impact
But there was no time to lament as the beast was already on him again this time bring down his foot on the scrawny kid but just few meters from the foot turning hector into a puddle of blood a line suddenly cut through the beast leg severing it cleanly
Screaming in pain the beast staggered in a bid to balance itself, but giving it no time to breath, a blade passed through the other leg ,then another one severed the head from the beast body
Hector watched as the beast was slowly slaughtered by a silhouette,now standing in front of him was a tall man with short red hair wearing a shiny armor and a sword at his waist with an insignia of a red dragon coiled around a sword on the breastplate of his armor.
"I am Leon Russell, gracefull knight of the Dragon sword Guild,who are you kid and what are you doing in this wilderness all alone"
'Wanting to retort to not being a kid but since the Knight just saved him from another death,he forfeited the action and answered the gracefull knight'
"I am hector,and I have come to hunt for food"
"Oh you are a brave one but do realize Hector that this forest is dangerous so I will advice against coming here to hunt again and we can share that monsters meat for the night,and you can return to the town in the morning"
'Hmm,a no name huh' Leon thought
"Thank you" Hector gave a slight bow before proceeding to gather wood to make fire while the knight carved out the beast meat.
Some minutes later they sat down to a meal of juicy monster meat.
Bringing out a jog out of nowhere,Leon offered Hector some wine which he accepted.
After satiating his hunger he stared at Leon's breastplate insignia,and asked
"Are you a mage"
"Yes,but you do realize that there are different types of mage,we have the Weapon mage,which I happened to be one,the spell mages or Casters,they mostly only use incantation while our own incantation are already etched into our weapons that is why a weapon mage weapon is very important to them, so you understand now"
"Yes"
'This is great there seemed to be some similarities between the two worlds actually in the part of classification but that is still somehow complicated'his thought was suddenly cut short by leon's question
"You don't have a magic affinity yet, do you"
"No"
"You should probably go to the upcoming Magical affinity assessment, you could have a luck of awakening a great ability"
"Sure I will try....." Hector suddenly stoped as he noticed a sort of vortex that seemed to be breaking and rearranging the fabric of reality to create a space for it6self
Turning back as he seemed to notice that Hector was looking at something behind him,Leon realized what Hector was pointing to,it was a Vortex,a superior form of portal
Before he could react to it,a dozen black tentacles suddenly shot forward and latched out on both of them.
Realizing the level of threat of the gate, Leon knew the dangers it posed and knew they most get away from it right now,dashing in the other direction and grabbing Hector with him he dashed away from the vortex but not before one of the tentacles grabbed onto Hector and befor he could even cut the other one another one was already wrapping around the kid and another one.
'Sorry Hector but this need to be done,don't worry nobody will remember you,you are a no name,and your sacrifice will save a lot of people' with that he released his grip on Hector and dashed off
'A vortex can also be closed if a soul challenges it so you would be the soul to be fed to the vortex to close it'
"Goodbye "
"What,what,what,am I getting dumped,I am a sacrifice,what is this,you fool,gracefull Knight my ass,you coward,leaving this scrawny kid to be devoured by the tentacles,I will kill you all, you all just stay alive till i return,all of you, i will send every one of you to hell" Hector screamed as he was being dragged into the vortex and then the vortex closed silently behind him with the fabric of nature restoring itself to how it was before
