Picking the dagger up he examined it
The dagger had some inscriptions etched on both of its flat side
"That would probably be an enchantment or what ever it was called in those stories"
Dropping the dagger and peering into his core again he concentrated on the seal of the dagger and it disappeared soon returning the seal beside his core
Standing up and looking at where he was, he discovered he had being washed downstream even though there seems to be no difference from where he had being before and his current position,at least those poisonous trees were still here,so he could tell he was now far to the downside of where he was before.
And he was naked again.
"At least I have a weapon now,I am not that defenseless anymore"
Camping beside the river again and eating fish for dinner,he rested as he was greatly exhausted from the fight with the beast.
The next morning after having another meal of salty fish he made a cloth out of leaf and seaweed and trying effortlessly to make the cloth more sturdier this time.
When he was finally done he plucked one of the poisonous fruits again and ate out of it,at least this time he knew what he was in for
"wow,is this how easy it is to go insane,finding a valid reason for eating a poisonous fruits"
when the poison of the fruit began taking effect he started helping the essence in his core circulate bringing a soothing feeling to spread through out his body purging and consuming the poison and that way he was able to gain more grip on the hang of channeling of the essence,and with that he felt a little more acquinted of the shadows
When he was done curing himself of the poison of the fruit he decided to head unto the forest
"I will make this place my camp for the moment"
That said, he continued into the forest
and as I went deeper he couldn't help but be bewildered with what I was seeing though this place is a place with so much danger I couldn't even begin to imagine but also to think that there can be this much beauty in a place as dangerous as this
My life is one twisted thing
The place where I grew up didn't have anything like this,it was a dump site,and what we had was artificial trees that was made secretly for the purpose of pumping out the waste air from the Noble settlements and so our skies were also replaced with black smokes for clouds and the ground was even worse,it was blackened almost turning purple from pollution.
I have lived such miserable lives and that is why I will make this one count,and this time I willake them all pay
Pushing all this thoughts away,I slowed down my pace as I saw a beast,No, more like an abomination, this is surely something no one will want to call a beast.
it shouldn't even exist,but am I even in a position to say that.
The beast had eyes,some as large as a fist some so small,they were the size of fingerprints pushed into the beasts irregular head with a mouth cutting from one end of the unusual head to the other which seemed to be sewn together by a thick black thread.
And it's body,made of hard green shells with spikes on them on some part,with long arms and legs carrying the fat green body,the body was filled with mows filled with vicious fangs ready to chump on me at any instance.
'well,we can't just keep staring at each other the whole day,can we?'
Reaching into my magical core I channeled energy into the only seal beside it, the dagger immediately manifested into my hand.
Getting in stance with my dagger in front of me,I made the first move dashing towards the beast, and when I was just immediately outside of what I thought would be it's long hands range I dashed left,though it didn't make any move,staying still as if it had expected that particular move
Going round it,I finally dashed towards it from the back,getting ready to stab it ,but suddenly a tail,thick,greenish just like the rest of its body,lashed forward with great speed,acting on instinct I jumped upwards, and threw my dagger towards it back.
knowing fully well how foolish all my actions were,I already planned everything
Seeing how free I was the beast finally moved,turning around in a sharp turn,swapping the dagger to the side,the beast launched towards me with long hands ending in large claws,attempting to impale me.
I immediately dismissed the dagger and then Immediately forming a platform with my shadow by attaching it to a tree,I launched myself over the beast and then immediately summoning the blade again and with another platform I launched at the beast from the back,landing a slash on a part of it's body that had no shell on it.
Landing far from it I got up and dashed forward again giving it no time to rest
"let's end this"
Sliding under the extended arm meant to dice me, I rolled over and when I was finally in front of it I jumped up and bringing my dagger from under I stabbed towards it shin but my attack was stopped a few Meters after entering it's head by it's thick skull or whatever it had as a skull,
struggling with all my strength to get it through it's head I thigthnened my grip on the dagger and even tried calling the shadows to flow to my arms.
I already knew the beasts weakness,the long arms with shells that hard wouldn't be able to bend backwards and although getting close to it to be able to use that advantage was dangerous in and of itself but now I have achieved it and now this
"This beast has one crazy thick skull"
With the shadow now around me the maws wouldn't be able to do anything and so my strength increased but then the blade only went a little deeper and now it event seemed to be stuck in there and also what was the beast trying to do
It was bending it hands backwards forcefully, breaking them in the process.
Knowing I has little time left before I was torn in pieces I increased the force behind the dagger and then unintentionally channelled essence into the blade and then in the next moment the blade went right through the beast causing the beast to become still and then start falling on it knee.
Quickly withdrawing my blade and jumping backwards I felt relieved as the beast fell to it's death
And then it picked my eye just before unsummoning my dagger I saw it,the blade was now a bit larger and much longer,almost longer than a regular blade
And before my eyes the etching on the dagger light up and it reduced back to its normal size again.
"what the,did my blade just extend,oh god,thank you ugly aquabeast,this is a great advantage"
"But why the hell didn't I realize this sooner,things could have been easier, there must be a rule or trick to it,and I would surely find that out but for now"
Going over to the beast I extracted the crystalline stuffs in it's heart and then continued my journey into the forest
After walking some few distance and trying my possible best of avoiding the beast in this area and surprisingly I have seen only three species lately,the thin scaly beast,the Aquaworm and another sort of giant three-headed flamingo only that they are black and give off this silent but dangerous wave,and each of this species were bearing some sort of scar,well that would mean there is a bigger beast they encountered.
I also saw a few small beasts which I killed and had for launch
'life isn't really bad here'
I eat what I want,as long as they don't eat me and I get to sleep and drink clean water,I even get to munch on as much sweet poisonous fruit as I want
Thinking about this while lying in a small cave in the dark staring at the green skies,I couldn't help but grin like an idiot.
Sitting up, I grabbed one of those poisonous fruit and taking a bite,I waited for the outcome, but it never came
Then another bite and another and another,seemed my body had adapted,that is great,if it was my former body,taking a bites would have ended my short life.
I had to take another fruit before the poison finally worked and,immediately going into meditation I reached into my magical core and channeling the essence I was now able to direct the flow of the essence for a little while before I returned to just helping it circulate,and I could now could feel the essence up to my chest region, overall,I was improving.
Trying my last effort to circulate my essence I discovered another thing.
It was a new seal,completely different from the former one.
Channeling essence into it,I suddenly felt the cold already my body reduce and I felt so.etching cling to my body
Opening my eyes it was a cloth,more like a cloak with a hoodie
'That came in pretty handy,I wonder if it also has other use like the blade'
Getting comfortable with the cloak I fell on my side and slept off
Waking up to a bright reflection of the sun creeping into my small,I raised my hand to shield my eyes.
Coming out of the cave I had some bat - looking beast for breakfast and after completing my chanelling practice,I decided to continue into the forest
"I hope I see a portal soon,since that magic assessment thing will be taking place soon"
I stoped mid-sentence as soon as I saw something, going closer to it I couldn't really comprehend what thing had done such gruesome stuff.
Scattered around was body parts which some was surely of humans,and in the midst of this parts is the parts of beasts,fangs,heads,organs,cracked heads,legs was littered around.
Taking a step forward to take a closer look at the scene but then I heard a rustle of leafs in the bush some few feet in front of me,acting on instinct I summoned my dagger preparing to attack a beast or run from one.
But to my surprise a person came of the bush with thief hands up beside there heads signalling peace.
'People,at last!!' I thought
"I see you are wandering this woods alone,boy,why don't you come back with me to my fellow scav-,hunters,huh"
