Although Cassandra was roughly the same age as Lucas physically, the difference between them was enormous.
Lucas possessed a completely unreasonable cheat system.
Thanks to it, he could throw around Unforgivable Curses like ordinary spells.
But Cassandra?
She had just cast Crucio entirely through her own emotions and magical ability.
And worse—
It had actually worked.
Lucas knew very well that without system protection, using Unforgivable Curses at such a young age would inevitably leave psychological and magical side effects.
Still, he didn't stop her.
Because Lucas firmly believed in one principle.
Never tell someone to forgive suffering you never endured yourself.
He had no right to interfere with her revenge.
If he had been in Cassandra's position, he honestly would have been even more ruthless.
Right now, Cassandra's heart overflowed with hatred.
Marcus had betrayed her.
Because of him, she lost the two maids who had practically been older sisters to her throughout childhood.
And worst of all—
Marcus's Killing Curse had nearly murdered Lucas right in front of her.
Completely unforgivable.
...
A long time later, Lucas finally reached out and gently held Cassandra's trembling hand.
"That's enough," he said quietly. "If you continue, your body won't be able to handle it."
The moment he spoke, Cassandra completely broke down emotionally.
She threw herself into his arms and buried her face against his chest while sobbing softly.
This was the first time in her life she had ever shown such weakness in front of another person.
Lucas awkwardly patted her back.
"Kassandra," he said softly, "could you go back inside the tent for a bit? I think we've got more visitors."
"No."
Cassandra immediately shook her head.
Her tear-filled green eyes suddenly carried surprising determination.
"I don't want to just stand there helplessly again. I don't want to watch people die while I can't do anything…"
Lucas hesitated briefly before finally nodding.
"Alright."
Then he motioned for Nagini to stay close beside her protectively.
Rustle.
Several figures emerged from the darkness of the surrounding forest.
Five werewolf wizards stepped into the firelight.
"Hah! Marcus, you useless idiot!" one of them laughed loudly. "You actually got taken down by two little brats?"
"Perfect timing," another sneered greedily. "We still needed more children to hand over to the boss anyway."
His eyes landed on Cassandra.
"That girl looks tender. The boss is definitely going to love her."
"Watch out for the giant snake," someone warned nervously.
"What's there to fear? Five of us against one snake? Easy."
The werewolves completely ignored Lucas and Cassandra after the initial glance.
To them, the children were already captured prey.
Lucas didn't waste time talking.
The moment they appeared, he raised his wand.
A silent Killing Curse flashed through the darkness instantly.
Green light exploded across the clearing.
One werewolf wizard was hit directly before he could react. The force of the curse launched his body several metres backwards through the air before he crashed lifelessly onto the ground.
The remaining four werewolves froze in shock.
None of them expected such terrifying magic from a skinny child.
At the same time, Cassandra raised her own wand.
"Expelliarmus!"
Unlike Lucas, she still avoided using lethal curses instinctively.
Unfortunately, experienced dark wizards were far stronger than ordinary opponents. One of the werewolves casually blocked her Disarming Charm before immediately firing back a Stunning Spell.
He clearly intended capturing her alive.
Nagini lazily flicked her tail.
The Stunning Spell shattered harmlessly against her scales.
True to Lucas's earlier instructions, she didn't attack recklessly and instead focused entirely on protecting Cassandra.
Meanwhile, Lucas transformed partially into black mist again.
Several green Killing Curses shot toward him.
He twisted through them effortlessly before counterattacking with a storm of silent Avada Kedavras.
No incantations.
No hesitation.
Only green flashes illuminating the forest repeatedly.
Within moments, only one werewolf remained alive.
Even then, Cassandra had already blasted his leg badly enough that he collapsed screaming onto the ground.
As for Marcus—
Somebody's stray Killing Curse had struck him during the chaos.
He now lay silently dead nearby.
The surviving werewolf stared at the corpses surrounding him in complete terror.
"P-Please…" he begged desperately. "Spare me…"
"Avada Kedavra."
Green light flashed again.
The final werewolf collapsed lifelessly.
Lucas finally exhaled slightly while lowering his wand.
Then suddenly—
Every instinct in his body screamed danger.
It felt as though some terrifying predator had fixed its gaze directly onto him from behind.
A chill ran down his spine instantly.
Someone powerful had arrived.
Incredibly powerful.
Voldemort?!
But that didn't make sense.
Wasn't Voldemort still a weak spirit hiding somewhere in Albania?
How could he possess magical pressure this overwhelming already?
Before Lucas could turn around, Cassandra suddenly gasped loudly.
"Professor Dumbledore!"
Lucas nearly tripped over his own feet.
What?!
Old Dumble— no.
Headmaster Dumbledore?!
So you really are the legendary master of perfect timing?!
Internally, Lucas immediately panicked.
"Hiss… I just used multiple Killing Curses directly in front of Dumbledore…"
His brain almost shut down on the spot.
Then the system suddenly spoke.
"Ding! Emergency mission activated!"
"Objective: Obtain Albus Dumbledore's understanding and approval!"
"Mission reward upon success: Philosopher's Stone!"
The system paused dramatically.
"Mission failure consequences will not be specified."
Lucas's heart instantly turned cold.
A Philosopher's Stone as the reward?
That alone proved how absurdly difficult this mission was.
With his current strength, he absolutely couldn't defeat Dumbledore.
His abilities were still too limited.
Fortunately, his max-level Occlumency remained active permanently.
Slowly, Lucas turned around.
An elderly wizard wearing deep purple robes stepped calmly out from the shadows of the forest.
Tall and thin.
Long white beard reaching his waist.
Half-moon spectacles.
Bright blue eyes.
And a crooked nose that looked as though it had been broken multiple times before.
Albus Dumbledore himself.
At this moment, the legendary wizard stared at Lucas with an extremely serious expression.
Lucas met his gaze calmly.
Then, before Dumbledore could speak first, Lucas quietly asked:
"Are you here to kill me too?"
After all, from Lucas's current perspective, he was supposedly just an orphan from a Muggle orphanage.
Not recognising Dumbledore at all made perfect sense.
