Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 – The First Prophecy

Nagini slowly climbed back out of Lucas's pocket.

The giant snake raised her head curiously, clearly confused about why Lucas had suddenly woken her up again.

"Hiss… (What is it?)"

Lucas gently rubbed the top of her enormous head.

"Hiss… (Sorry for disturbing your sleep. I just need your help testing something. It'll only take a moment.)"

Nagini obediently nodded.

Then she tilted her head slightly while staring at Lucas curiously.

Lucas took a slow breath before focusing his attention between his eyebrows.

Instantly, a strange heat spread through his forehead.

Then—

A mysterious force burst outward from the space between his brows and shone directly onto Nagini's body.

At that exact moment, Lucas's pupils silently transformed into brilliant silver.

Of course, he couldn't see his own appearance right now.

All he felt was something indescribably strange.

It was as though his consciousness suddenly detached from his body and floated toward Nagini.

Then—

Countless intertwined streams of light appeared around her.

Some were bright.

Some dim.

Some nearly extinguished.

Lucas stared blankly for a moment before suddenly understanding.

These were fate lines.

Every line represented a possible future Nagini might experience.

And the brighter the line became…

The greater the probability of that future occurring.

At the same time, Lucas instinctively realised another fact.

If he wanted changing fate itself, he first needed locating the key turning points within these destiny lines.

Soon enough, Lucas discovered the brightest future line currently surrounding Nagini.

Without hesitation, his consciousness drifted directly into it.

The world around him changed instantly.

Suddenly—

Lucas realised he had become Nagini herself.

Or rather, he now experienced the next three days entirely from Nagini's perspective.

The giant snake lifted her head and stared fixedly at the handsome boy standing nearby.

Then the boy—Lucas himself—suddenly showed a strange expression that seemed halfway between laughter and tears before placing Nagini back into his pocket.

Future-Lucas looked completely baffled for some reason.

At first, present-Lucas didn't understand why.

Then the prophecy continued.

Day One.

Sleep.

That was all.

Nagini slept the entire day peacefully inside his pocket.

Day Two.

The scene finally changed slightly.

Nagini crawled slowly out from Lucas's pocket.

Before entering somewhere else, she briefly noticed that Lucas now stood inside an elegant bedroom.

Then—

She slithered into some kind of ring-shaped object.

Once inside, everything became dark again.

Still, Nagini subconsciously felt that this new space seemed even more comfortable than Lucas's pocket.

Then she went back to sleep.

Day Three.

Sleep again.

End of prophecy.

The silver light inside Lucas's eyes slowly faded.

Countless fate lines disappeared alongside it.

Rather than continuing deeper into other possible futures, Lucas immediately closed the Celestial Eye and withdrew from the prophetic state entirely.

Then silence filled the tent.

Lucas sat there blankly for several seconds.

"So… Nagini spends the next three days sleeping…"

He honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

At least he finally understood why future-him wore that weird expression earlier.

Then Lucas suddenly remembered the ring.

Had he personally made it in the future?

Or was it another system reward?

Maybe after seeing this prophecy, he would eventually realise storing Nagini inside a magically expanded ring was more convenient than keeping her in his pocket.

Honestly, the possibilities were endless.

Still, Lucas now understood the limitations of his current prophetic abilities clearly.

With only one point in Divination Mastery, he couldn't independently view major future events or broad destinies yet.

At best, he could observe fragments connected to specific individuals.

To reach Professor Trelawney's level of occasional spontaneous prophecy, he would probably need investing several more Skill Points into Divination.

No wonder true prophecy remained incredibly rare.

Even naturally gifted Seers often failed developing their abilities properly throughout life.

Unfortunately for everyone else…

Lucas had a system.

Then suddenly, the system notification sounded again.

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully completing your first prophecy!"

"Reward granted: Crisis Awareness talent!"

Lucas blinked.

"Crisis Awareness?"

"What does that do?"

The system answered immediately.

"Ding! Crisis Awareness is an extremely rare companion ability commonly associated with prophets!"

"After obtaining this talent, the host can instinctively detect any crisis threatening themselves within the next ten seconds!"

Lucas immediately understood.

It worked similarly to Spider-Sense.

If something dangerous was about happening within the next ten seconds, the ability would automatically activate.

And more terrifyingly—

It would directly transmit the future image of him failing to avoid that danger back into his mind instantly.

Lucas's scalp tingled slightly just imagining it.

This ability was absurd.

In future battles, wouldn't he basically become impossible to ambush?

He could already picture himself elegantly dodging attacks before smugly declaring:

"I predicted your prediction."

Just imagining it felt unbelievably satisfying.

Lucas happily rolled around on the bed for a moment.

Then exhaustion suddenly crashed into him like a tidal wave.

After constant fighting, multiple prophecies, and the heavy magical consumption from tonight, his body had long reached its limit.

Before he even realised it—

Lucas fell asleep completely.

For the first time in more than half a year, this body finally entered peaceful, dreamless rest.

A while later, the curtain separating the beds moved slightly.

A small figure quietly slipped underneath.

Cassandra carefully sat beside Lucas's bed on the floor.

Her elbows rested gently against the mattress while both hands supported her delicate face.

Silently, she watched the sleeping boy before her.

Then the corners of her lips slowly lifted unconsciously.

I'm his most important person…

Meanwhile, Lucas remained fast asleep.

His Crisis Awareness talent never activated.

After all—

This wasn't danger, was it?
