Cassien laughed. "I'll get you something to eat on me. No worries."
The guard bowed rapidly.
"I'm very grateful, young man."
"No need for formalities. Just call me Cassien." He smiled. "I'll get you some steak, bread, and soup. Does that sound fine?"
The knight nodded enthusiastically. "Y-yes, please!"
Cassien then turned slightly.
"If it gets too late by the time we're back, we might as well book a room for the night. No need to rush things. I'll pay for yours."
"You're too kind, but academy students and guards are gifted free hotel accommodations while going on an adventure or mission assigned by Nosguard."
Cassien looked genuinely stunned.
"Oh, I see. Then we might as well stay the night."
"Your choice."
Cassien turned around.
"Goodbye now."
"Goodbye, young one."
Olivia and Aiysha waited for him impatiently near the center of the village.
