"Isn't that the idiot?! How did he become like a different person?" February stared dumbfoundedly at Ryusei, who was slaughtering the zombie horde. He was a completely different person from the idiot with nothing but brute strength they had seen before.
"How should I know." March was also very surprised. In just a few days, this guy had undergone such a massive transformation. No wonder Brother October said he was an interesting person.
"Should we help now?" February asked.
"What do you think?" March rolled his eyes at February. Given the current situation, that idiot was under no pressure at all.
"Look, isn't he coming out now?"
While they spoke, Ryusei and the others had already charged out from the zombie horde. The blood-stained holy sword of physics and the blood-stained Ryusei himself made for a very impactful sight. Seeing this, March and February couldn't help but recall the scene of a river of blood they had witnessed in that eerie space; at that time, they looked very much like Ryusei did now.
"Eh? It's you guys, the Black Moon Iron Cavalry?!" Ryusei shouted in surprise, pointing at March and February. The intense aura he had just been exuding vanished instantly.
March and February's lips twitched. This guy is the real idiot!
"By the way, do you know what's going on here?" Qi Xiaosai, who was standing nearby, stepped forward to ask.
February glanced at Qi Xiaosai and said, "The zombies here are—"
"They're Jiangshi!" March interjected from the side.
"They're zombies!" February countered.
"Uh, can you guys please stop worrying about whether they're Jiangshi or zombies for a moment and tell us what exactly is going on?" Qi Xiaosai stepped in to act as the peacemaker.
"Lucifer and his people are behind this," March said coldly, his gaze shifting toward the rear, where another batch of Jiangshi (zombies) was running toward them.
February saw them too and quickly added, "The entire city has been infected now. You're on your own. Just a reminder, more are coming from behind."
With that, February and March both started their motorcycles and sped away.
"Hey! Aren't you coming with us?!"
Ryusei shouted loudly after them.
"We have to meet up with October. You guys can escape slowly on your own See you around"
February's voice drifted back from the distance.
"Let's go, quickly!" Qi Xiaosai was the first to react. "We need to find a car and get out of here. we don't have the strength to keep grinding it out with those zombies."
"Right!" Ryusei and the others followed quickly. Qi Xiaosai was right; there were so many zombies that it was impossible to deal with them all at once. Staying to fight would only lead to exhaustion. Running was the best option—as the saying goes, of the thirty-six stratagems, fleeing is the best!
In another part of the city, there was an office building with its windows boarded up with planks.
This building was the last survivor base in the city, and it was also a police station where all the city's survivors lived.
Inside the building, an elderly policeman looked out at the blue sky through the gaps between the boards and sighed melancholy, white cigarette smoke curling from his mouth. Suddenly, his cloudy eyes blinked, and he reached out to rub them, muttering doubtfully, "Was that a person just now?"
Outside the building, Asagami Fujino's figure continuously flickered across the rooftops. She wasn't using any special abilities, just pure physical speed, yet even so, it created an effect similar to teleportation. The surrounding space hummed as if it couldn't withstand the pressure.
"This is the place." Asagami Fujino appeared at the highest point in the city, an architectural structure known to the locals as the Rainbow Peak.
"Is the person not out here? They must be inside." Asagami Fujino looked around and then instantly vanished, entering the interior of the building.
"Found you."
Inside the building, next to a piano in the lobby, a man in a white suit was dancing as if lost in his own world, his hands waving in front of his chest like he was conducting a grand concert.
"I didn't expect to run into a Suit Freak in this world too." Asagami Fujino's lips curled into a faint smile, as if she had thought of something amusing.
Her powerful mental strength instantly seized control of the white-suited man's mind. The light faded from his eyes, leaving them like those of a dead object, but the original spark soon returned.
"Master!" The man in the white suit knelt on one knee, looking at Asagami Fujino respectfully.
"Speed up the plan. Everything else remains the same. Don't expose yourself too early," Asagami Fujino said.
"Yes, Master," the man in the white suit replied respectfully.
"Very well, I'll leave everything to you." Having said that, Asagami Fujino's figure vanished.
On a city road, a white van was driving along. Ryusei and his group were inside; they had been lucky enough to find this van near the airport, and it even had the keys. However, there were some bloodstains in the car, likely because the owner hadn't had time to escape before being caught by the zombies.
"Young Master, she seems to be waking up," Bun suddenly said.
"Is she awake?" Ryusei turned his head to look. Qi Xiaosai also wanted to look back, but as the only person among them with a driver's license, he had to focus on driving. It wouldn't be fun if they accidentally flipped the car.
The girl's hand moved slightly, and she slowly opened her eyes, only to see Bun's wretched face. Subconsciously—
Slap!
She delivered a slap, leaving a perfect handprint on Bun's face.
"We aren't bad people!" Ryusei said quickly, seeing the girl raising her hand again.
A moment later, after learning from Ryusei that it was all a misunderstanding, the girl quickly apologized to Bun.
"Hehe, it's fine." Seeing the girl's cute appearance, Bun immediately felt that his face didn't hurt anymore and started laughing foolishly.
"By the way, what's your name?" Ignoring Bun's silly laughter, Ryusei turned to ask.
"My name is Yuki, and I'm a freelance journalist," Yuki said.
"A journalist, huh? So that's why you were at the airport—to investigate something, right?" Ryusei asked again. "So how did you end up fainting inside the airport? If it weren't for us, you'd be in serious trouble by now."
"About that..." Yuki tried hard to recall what had happened to her, but she couldn't remember anything. She only remembered hiding in the airport after discovering the zombies; everything else was a blank.
Seeing Yuki like this, Ryusei guessed she really didn't remember. The situation was suddenly becoming quite mysterious.
"Ryusei, look behind us! There's a car!" Qi Xiaosai called out a warning. The group looked back through the rear windshield to see a police car right behind them, with a female officer waving at them.
"Wait! What is that?! An RPG?!"
Qi Xiaosai's eyes widened. In the sky ahead of them, a black dot was heading straight for them.
