Claire's POV
You're crying." I accused, watching him from the corner of my eyes. Louis remained seated, his eyes fixed on the monitor staring at it like it held stock prices, or charts.
"I'm not crying," he said but his demeanor betrayed him. His shoulders were tense, his face was completely turned away from mine. "Why would I?"
His voice cracked on the last word and I resisted the urge to chuckle at his sudden expression. I wasn't used to seeing him this emotional and it was so funny to see.
He sniffled and it was glaring that he was indeed crying.
I started giggling. "Oh my God, you're crying."
"I'm not." He tried to shut it down but his voice was still rough with clogged emotion.
"You absolutely are."
Louis's jaw tightened the way it always did when he was losing an argument he refused to concede. He was still staring at the monitor, jaw working, eyes suspiciously bright under the fluorescent light.
