"What is it? I'm not interested in hearing a beaten dog whine."
"I lost. That's true," Joey said, straightening up. "But only for now. Someday I'll beat you. And until that day, no matter how many times I lose, I'll stand up again and challenge you again. That's my road to becoming a real Duelist!"
Mai watched Joey's back and smiled softly. That's exactly why I fell for you.
"Heh. Idiocy really is terminal," Kaiba said with a laugh.
"What'd you say?!"
Joey surged forward, but Tristan and Duke grabbed him.
"Calm down, Joey! The finals are about to start!"
Joey froze, then exhaled hard.
"Right… I almost forgot. Yugi—good luck in the finals. And you too, Kisaragi."
"Yeah," Yami Yugi answered, then smiled faintly at Kisaragi. "Back at Duelist Kingdom, I lost to you. In today's Battle City finals, I'm taking that back."
Kisaragi returned the smile. "Good. Then let's duel properly."
"Great… now we don't even know who to cheer for," Téa groaned.
"Seriously," Joey said. "Duelist Kingdom finals—Kisaragi vs. Yugi—that was insane. And now both sides have God Cards? This is going to be just as wild."
Kisaragi turned toward the tower. "Seto, let's go. Your Battle City is over, but mine isn't. Don't you want to see it with your own eyes?"
"I'll put the Blue-Eyes you love so much on top of this Duel Tower," she added, her gaze sharp. "Then you can deny every last thing Gozaburo built here. Isn't that what you wanted?"
Something in Kaiba's expression loosened—like a knot finally giving way.
"Ha… hahaha!" He laughed, a little too loudly. "You're right. Even if it's not my hand that does it—if Blue-Eyes White Dragon stands victorious on this tower, then I can finally wave goodbye to that nightmare."
Kisaragi nodded once. "Yugi—let's go. The real final starts now."
"Yeah."
He's got two God Cards, Kisaragi thought as she walked. I've got Ra… and that's enough.
They reached the top of Duel Tower. No extra talk—Kisaragi and Yugi stepped onto the platform.
"At last," Marik muttered.
Ishizu's eyes were grave. "The Pharaoh holds two God Cards. Kisaragi holds one. But if an ordinary person uses a God Card, they risk the gods' wrath… I don't know if she can safely unleash it."
"Kisaragi," Yami Yugi said, voice steady.
Kisaragi met his eyes. "Let's settle it. One more time."
"Alright."
Yami Yugi snapped his Duel Disk open and slotted his Deck in.
"The final match of Battle City begins! Kisaragi Aoi versus Yugi Muto!" the announcer declared.
"Duel!"

"Mokuba… Kisaragi will be okay, right?" Mokuba asked, anxious. "Yugi's got two God Cards."
"She knows exactly what she's walking into," Kaiba said. "All we can do is watch."
Yami Yugi raised a hand. "I'll take the first move."
"My turn—draw!"
Inside, Yugi's voice echoed: Other me… this is the last duel you need to reclaim your memories. And I can see it—this will be your hardest one.
Yeah, Yami Yugi answered silently. But I'm not losing this time. For my future, I'll bet everything.
He glanced at his opening hand, eyes narrowing.
I already have a God Card. Then I have to summon it immediately—before Kisaragi establishes her board. I crush her first.
"I activate Joker's Straight!"
Kisaragi's gaze sharpened. Joker's Straight… Is he going for a first-turn God summon?
"By discarding one card, I Special Summon Queen's Knight from my Deck!"Queen's Knight appeared. (ATK 1500 / DEF 1600)
"Then I add King's Knight or Jack's Knight from my Deck to my hand—then I can Normal Summon a monster!"

"Yeah," Duke said. "If he's holding a God Card, that's all he needs."
Yami Yugi didn't hesitate.
"I activate Quick-Play Spell Godspeed Summon! It can be used during either Main Phase or the Battle Phase to summon a Level 10 monster. And if I control Queen's Knight, King's Knight, and Jack's Knight… I can add a Level 10 monster with ? ATK that isn't DARK from my Deck to my hand—then I can perform a Level 10 summon!"
"Therefore, I add Slifer the Sky Dragon from my Deck to my hand!"
Kaiba's jaw tightened. "He's doing it… first turn."
"I tribute Queen's Knight, King's Knight, and Jack's Knight!"
"Descend, God Card—Slifer the Sky Dragon!"
The clear sky darkened in an instant. Storm clouds rolled in, lightning crawling like veins through the black. A massive crimson dragon emerged from the thunderhead, coiling as it descended.
"Yugi… he actually summoned a god on turn one," Kaiba said, voice edged with frustration.
Yami Yugi steadied his breath. Slifer's pressure will cripple her summons. If I lock her down now, I control the entire duel.
"I set one card. End my turn."
At the end of the turn, Joker's Straight triggered in the Graveyard.
"In the End Phase, Joker's Straight's effect activates: I return Queen's Knight to the Deck—and add Joker's Straight back to my hand."
Now he held three cards.
"Because I have three cards in hand, Slifer the Sky Dragon's ATK and DEF become 3000!"
