"As long as this card is on the field, all Dragon-Type monsters on the field aren't affected by other card effects!"
"Uh-oh… If Kaiba's attack lands, Joey's finished," Duke said.
"Battle! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, direct attack—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
Blue-Eyes unleashed a beam of white light straight at Joey.
"Trap Card—Red-Eyes Spirit! I Special Summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon from my Graveyard in Defense Position!"
Red-Eyes Black Dragon rose up to shield Joey.
"And then I activate Continuous Trap Red-Eyes Fang with Chain—no, Return of the Red-Eyes!" Joey snapped, forcing himself to stay composed.
"Return of the Red-Eyes lets me Special Summon a Normal Monster from my Graveyard if I control a 'Red-Eyes' monster!"
"I Special Summon Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning in Defense Position!" (ATK 2500 / DEF 1200)
"Nice! At least Joey won't get blown out instantly," Yami Yugi said.
"Doesn't matter. Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack Red-Eyes Black Dragon—Burst Stream of Destruction!" Kaiba ordered.
Red-Eyes was swallowed by the blast and vanished.

"Meteor Black Comet Dragon's effect activates when it battles," Joey declared, grinning. "Until the end of the Damage Step, neither player can activate Spell, Trap, or monster effects!"
"What?! It shuts off effects during the fight?" Kaiba snapped.
Meteor Black Comet Dragon's flaming blast slammed into Blue-Eyes, destroying it.

"And I'm not done! At the end of my Battle Phase, I can target a 'Red-Eyes' Normal Monster in my Graveyard—deal damage equal to its original ATK, then shuffle it back into the Deck!"
"I choose Red-Eyes Black Dragon! Take 2400 damage—and Red-Eyes goes back to my Deck!"
"Not so fast," Kaiba said coldly.
"What?!"
"Trap Card—Energy Absorption Panel! When an effect your opponent activates would inflict damage to you, you can activate this card: instead of taking that damage, you gain Life Points equal to it."
"So I gain 2400 Life Points!"
Kaiba LP: 3800 → 6200
Kisaragi exhaled, impressed. "That's Seto for you."
"Brother's amazing!" Mokuba cheered.
"Tch… My effect helped him instead!" Joey scowled.

"I activate Pot of Greed. I draw two cards."
Then Kaiba's gaze sharpened.
"I activate Sage with Eyes of Blue from my hand! I send it to the Graveyard and target Dragon Ruler on my field—send Dragon Ruler to the Graveyard, then Special Summon a 'Blue-Eyes' monster from my Deck!"
"Come forth—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" (ATK 3000 / DEF 2500)
"Next, I activate Return of the Dragon Lords—no, The Melody of Awakening Dragon—" Kaiba didn't hesitate, chaining into his real line.
"I activate Beacon of the Blue-Eyes! I Special Summon 1 'Blue-Eyes' monster from my Deck, Graveyard, or banished zone in Defense Position!"
"Rise—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" (ATK 3000 / DEF 2500)
Joey bared his teeth. "Heh. Even if you've got two Blue-Eyes, my Meteor Black Comet Dragon has 3200 ATK. A pair of 3000s won't beat it."
"You third-rate… my Duel is already several turns ahead of yours."

Kaiba flipped his last card into place.
"I activate Polymerization! I fuse the two Blue-Eyes White Dragons on my field—plus the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand!"
"Fusion Summon—Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" (ATK 4500 / DEF 3800)
"Battle! Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack Meteor Black Comet Dragon—Ultimate Burst Stream!"
The triple-headed dragon fired in unison, blasting Meteor Black Comet Dragon apart.

Joey staggered, then forced himself upright. "Kaiba… I'm not done yet!"
"I told you—my Duel is already several turns ahead."
Kaiba slammed down the final card in his hand.
"Quick-Play Spell—De-Fusion!"
"What?!" Yami Yugi's eyes widened.
"Téa—this is it," he said quietly.
"De-Fusion returns Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to the Extra Deck—and Special Summons the three Blue-Eyes White Dragons used as Fusion Material from my Graveyard!"

Joey's eyes widened. "No way—!"
"Blue-Eyes White Dragons—direct attack!"
"Continuous Trap—Mass Arrest! I target one face-up monster you control—take control of it!"
"Kaiba, I'm taking one of your Blue-Eyes White Dragons!"
Kaiba's expression went instantly murderous.
"You third-rate trash… you think you're worthy of controlling my Blue-Eyes?"
That was the line Joey shouldn't have crossed.
"Trap Card—Trap Neutralizer! Until the end of this turn, all Trap effects on the field except this card are negated!"
"So Mass Arrest is negated!"
"What?!"
"Blue-Eyes White Dragons—finish him! Triple Burst Stream of Destruction!"
"Tenacious! Invincible! The strongest!"
"Crash! Shatter! Thunderous applause!"
Kaiba threw his head back and laughed.
