"Obelisk's… special ability?!" Yami Yugi's pupils tightened.
"Watch carefully, Yugi!" Kaiba raised his arm, finger stabbing toward the blue titan looming behind him.
Obelisk reached down—bare-handed—and seized the two Sapphire Dragons on Kaiba's field like toys. Their bodies shuddered as light was ripped from them, energy spiraling into Obelisk's fists.
Kaiba's voice rang out over the wind.
"Obelisk the Tormentor's divine power! I Tribute two monsters on my field—then I deal 4000 points of damage to you and wipe out your presence in one strike!"
"What?!" Joey's face drained.
"You can't be serious…!" Mai inhaled sharply.
Kaiba's grin was razor-thin.
"Your Slifer can be as big as it likes, Yugi. After a direct hit like that, your Life Points drop to zero anyway!"
He took a step forward, almost ceremonial.
"Now—go to your God."
"God bless you."
Obelisk's arm swung down like a guillotine, the air itself screaming.
"YUGI!" Téa screamed.
A blur—small, round, soft—burst forward.
Yami Yugi's hand snapped down, and a card hit the Graveyard.
In front of him, a swarm of Kuriboh appeared—dozens of tiny, furry bodies piling into a living wall. Obelisk's blow crashed into them, detonating into smoke and shockwaves.
The arena disappeared under rolling gray fumes.
Then… the smoke thinned.
Yami Yugi was still standing.
His Life Points… hadn't moved.
"YES!" Téa grabbed her chest, shaking. "He's okay!"
"I told you!" Tristan breathed out hard. "Yugi doesn't go down like that!"
Kaiba stared, jaw clenched so tight it looked painful.
"…Why?"
Yami Yugi's tone was steady—almost gentle.
"What's wrong, Kaiba? I'm still here."
He lifted his gaze.
"In that instant, I activated Kuriboh from my hand."
A faint, warm shimmer appeared beside him—the tiny spirit-like silhouette of Kuriboh, bobbing as if nodding.
"Kuriboh… saved me."
Kaiba's eyes flared.
"You survived a God's strike with a trash-tier monster?!" he snapped, disgusted and furious. "Unbelievable!"
Kisaragi's brows knit—irritation flickering despite herself. She'd known it was coming, but seeing Obelisk's perfect execution smothered by Kuriboh still felt… wrong.
Kaiba clicked his tongue and ended it cleanly.
"I set one card. End turn." (Cards in hand: 0)
"My turn—draw!"
Yami Yugi's draw was crisp, decisive.
"In this moment, I have six cards in hand—so Slifer the Sky Dragon's ATK becomes 6000!"

"Battle! Slifer attacks Obelisk!"
Slifer surged forward, its massive body coiling around Obelisk like a crimson storm-serpent, jaws opening as lightning gathered.
Kaiba's eyes sharpened.
"Too naïve."
He flipped a Trap.
"I activate 'Balance of Power'!" (anime card)
A strange force rippled through the field—like invisible scales snapping into equilibrium. Obelisk wrenched free of Slifer's constriction and clamped a massive hand around Slifer's throat, stopping the attack mid-breath.
"What?!" Yami Yugi's expression tightened.
Kaiba's voice was cold.
"'Balance of Power' can be activated when my hand is empty. You discard half your hand—then I draw the same number."
He pointed at Yugi like passing judgment.
"Discard three."
Yami Yugi had no choice. He selected three cards and sent them to the Graveyard.
Slifer's power immediately dropped with the hand count.
Slifer the Sky Dragon (ATK 3000 / DEF 3000)
Kaiba didn't waste the window.
"Now—counterattack! Obelisk attacks Slifer!"
Obelisk's fist drove forward—pure violence given form—aimed straight at Slifer's face.
But just as impact became inevitable—
A pulse.
The Battle Phase… snapped shut.
"What?!" Kaiba's eyes widened.
Yami Yugi's mouth curled slightly.
"The Battle Phase is over."
Kaiba's voice rose, sharp.
"Explain."
Yami Yugi drew a card from his Graveyard pile and showed it.
"Because of your 'Balance of Power,' this card was sent to my Graveyard."
"Electromagnetic Turtle…?"
"That's right," Yami Yugi said. "While it's in the Graveyard, I can banish it to force the Battle Phase to end."
Kaiba's fist stopped mid-air in frustration.
"Damn it."
He ended cleanly.
"End turn." (Cards in hand: 3)
Kaiba's laughter suddenly spilled out—low at first, then rising, almost exhilarated.
"Yugi… hah… hahahaha…"
Everyone watching felt it—Kaiba's mood had shifted. Not calm. Not relieved.
Focused.
"You are strong," Kaiba said, voice sharpening into something like respect. "A duelist worthy of my recognition—second only to Kisaragi."
Yami Yugi's eyes didn't move.
Kaiba's gaze flicked, briefly, to Kisaragi below—and softened in a way that made the air feel heavier.
"But I can't lose."
His voice dropped into iron.
"For the promise I made with her… I will not fall here."
"My turn—draw!"
He looked straight at Yami Yugi.
"Your Slifer is at 3000 ATK right now. Tell me—how do you stop what comes next?"
Yami Yugi's expression hardened, solemn.
Kaiba raised his hand.
"Go, Obelisk—prove you are the God who will stand above all Gods!"
"Battle! Obelisk attacks Slifer!"
Yami Yugi's eyes flashed.
"I've been waiting for that."
He slapped the activation on his Continuous Trap.
"I activate 'Joker's Bond'! I banish up to one each of Queen's Knight, Jack's Knight, and King's Knight from my hand or Graveyard—then I draw the same number!"
Kaiba's eyes widened.
"Drawing… now?!"
Cards slid into Yami Yugi's hand like fate snapping shut.
"My hand returns to six. That means—Slifer becomes 6000 ATK!"

Lightning gathered in Slifer's jaws. The air crackled. The entire arena felt like it was about to split open.
Joey pumped his fist. "YES! Kaiba walked right into it!"
Téa gasped. "Slifer's going to—!"
But Kaiba's mouth curled into a grin.
"Not finished."
He flipped his face-down card with a snap.
"I activate 'Gradual Reduction of Life'!"
Yami Yugi's eyes widened—he knew exactly what it meant.
"Damn—Slifer's ATK will drop by 2000!"
Slifer's power dipped, the lightning thinning but not vanishing.
Slifer the Sky Dragon (ATK 4000 / DEF 4000)
Obelisk roared.
Slifer roared back.
Then the two Gods collided.
A blinding white explosion consumed the dueling arena. The Millennium Puzzle on Yugi's chest flared. Malik's Millennium Rod erupted with light. Ishizu's Millennium Necklace shone like a star.
Ishizu's breath caught.
"This…!"
The light didn't just fill the space.
It pulled.
Kaiba and Yugi—both of them—felt their consciousness being wrenched free, dragged into a dark tunnel as if the world itself had opened its throat.
And at the edge of the arena—
Kisaragi's body stiffened.
Inside her, the spirit of the White Dragon surged violently, reacting to the same phenomenon.
Before she could even speak, her awareness was seized as well—
and swallowed into the darkness with them.
