Chapter 57
Tori's POV
I had been sitting with Riven for what felt like a long time, yet the conversation between us made it feel like time was moving differently.
The moment I finished getting dressed, he walked into my room with that usual calm expression of his, asking about Kael, but I already knew that wasn't the real reason he had come. He wanted to see me.
That much was obvious from the way he stayed instead of leaving immediately.
At first, I had only intended to thank him for what he did the night before, nothing more than that, but somehow the conversation drifted into something else, and before I knew it, we were both laughing like the world outside this room didn't exist.
"So what exactly did you do?" I asked him again, still smiling as I leaned slightly forward.
Riven leaned back in his seat, exhaling slowly like the memory itself annoyed him, even though there was a faint amusement in his expression.
