Chapter 56
Kael's POV
As much as I tried not to smile this morning, it was completely inevitable.
Every single thing that had happened between Tori and me kept replaying in my head no matter how hard I tried to focus on something else.
The way she had grabbed my collar, the way she had looked at me without realizing what she was doing to me, and the way her entire attitude changed the moment I reminded her of the promise I had made.
The memory alone was enough to make amusement tug at the corner of my lips.
My fingers brushed against my lower lip as I remembered the kiss she had given me earlier. Even now, sitting in front of the council members, I could still picture her face perfectly.
A small chuckle almost escaped me.
Maybe I was losing my mind.
Then again, if losing my mind meant thinking about her all day, perhaps I did not mind it that much.
Unfortunately, the people seated around this table were doing an excellent job of ruining my mood.
