Kai wiped the angry tears out of his eyes and stepped away, slumping back against the wall out of Uri's reach.
He didn't want comfort, he wanted him to tell him how completely monstrous that was.
"How disgusting is that? She loved us, she was my mother."
He had cast his eyes to the floor again, so he was unsure what kind of expression Uri was making, but he hoped his silence indicated that it was horrified.
His mother had taken her own life. Just like his father had said, she wasn't well. 'It wasn't her fault', he would say.
But regardless...
"I hate her. She left us. She left dad, Aida...me. She did it in our fucking kitchen! And that damned scarf!" Kai gritted his teeth, his hands balled up into fists at his side.
Creak. Creak. Creak.
'Leave me alone...it wasn't my fault. It was you. You chose this. It wasn't my fault.'
