Suddenly, Izack's phone rang, interrupting the silence that had finally settled between the two men.
The alpha hesitated, glancing at Hiro as though waiting for permission.
Hiro blinked, puzzled.
Why wasn't he answering?
His gaze drifted to the screen, which indicated: Manager, despite himself.
"Oh, right! You never got the chance to tell your manager where you were." Hiro rubbed the back of his neck apologetically. "Hurry up and pick it up. I'm sorry… I should've let you leave with him."
"Hey, it's alright. Don't worry." Izack smiled gently as he stood. "I'll explain everything to him, okay?"
With that, he walked outside to answer the call.
Hiro remained seated, rubbing his temples.
What am I even doing?
Just because he didn't want to see Felix, he was once again using this poor man to distract himself.
"…You're no different from him." The words left his mouth in a soft mumble. Lower than the music playing in the background of the restaurant.
