John who was falling down along side the falling lava , he screamed on top of his lungs as he looked down on shining red light was coming from below but there was no heat that could be sensed from it.
After a few seconds he could see the view of the underground surface, the falling lava dropping down from the above froze and became solid. A thick layer of ice was formed on the running lava, if someone saw it from above it almost looked like a aquarium scene where you can walk on the glass and could see the all sea creatures in water below the transperant glass.
But in this it was Lava running like a small lake and had a layer of transparent ice on top of it
"Whirlwind" strong circular wind started to form a tall vertical pillar of air moving round and round in a circle as it traveled towards the surface and slammed into it. John got a soft landing as the whirlwind he had casted absorbed almost all the momentum of falling down.
' all my clothes are mess , it's good my mother hasn't seen it. I must go out of here quickly or they might start to flip the whole mountains to find me. As he looked around the space he was standing a natural hot spring could be seen just ahead of the ending of the frozen lava Lake.
' I better should take a bath, I definitely don't want to get a bath from my mother' as a face of Selena bathing him appeared in his mind. A chill passed down on his body just by thinking about that.
He touched the surface of water by just toe of the foot to check the temperature , " it's hot" he immediately retracted his foot and tried to lift as up as possible towards the mouth and started to blow cold air on it.
He dug a small ditch beside the hot spring. 'It is a big enough '. John entered the ditch and touched the bottom surface, as he focused on mana , ice started to spread all around the bottom surface.
' this will be enough, now only final step of making a tunnel between this and the hot spring is only remaining. what magic should I use?. Or rather I can use this pickaxe that I got from those bandits while they were busy in fighting.'
He placed him self on the edge of ditch and started to use pickaxe to dig a tunnel from there towards the hot spring.
As the last stroke hit the wall , hot water started gush in the ditch. John falled back and exited the ditch as hot water started to accumulate. Ice started to melt immediately started to crack and tear apart before melting due to coming in contact with very hot water.
" It's called science" said John with expression full of pride.
After sometime as hot water filled to the brim , he checked again by putting his toe in hot water." It's perfect." John removed his clothes and placed them on nearby stones.
He stayed in hot water for some time as it relieved all his fatigue, only to remember that he was hungry. 'a young child indeed needs large amount of food for growth phase. So biology works same for this world or might not because how can a child can get unscathed after bathing in hot water with almost more than 50 °c .'
John got out of the hot water, after wearing his clothes he checked his space ring that bandits didn't take thinking it didn't had anything useful.he checked the space ring for some snacks that Selena had put in. ' sandwiches ! , that might do.'
' I should get going now.'
Suddenly John started to float and his body didn't obey him , John's body started to move in direction of centre of the mountain with astonishing speed.
"Ooo that was close" said John. As a monster looking like a giant snow man almost tried to tear him apart by giant hand, as he was floating towards the unknown.
' what was that ?. Was that a Yeti, considering it's size it was way bigger.'
Various snow monsters could be seen living deep inside the mountain as John's floating journey was still continued.
A large area was shining , a slightly yellowish coloured sun rays were entering from the large hol on top of the mountain . Just like a active volcanoes have large mouth on top of them and lava and volcanic ash coming out of it unlike this one. It had huge opening which going straight into the ground as the veiw was getting clear he realised that he stopped just above the centre of it
" Wheu , finally it stopped but why I feel like some is not right."
John looked down, the hole was shining with rainbow light was coming out of it. " Whoa! "You've got to be kidding!" A powerful suction came from below as John got pulled in it.
" Wow ! It's beautiful. All of these might have taken thousands of years to form." Ores of different colours were shining in dark as John continued to fall.
John softly landed on the thick transparent ice. Red hot lava was running from below the ice , just like from the previous chamber but this was on large scale with a size of a tens of football field.
John observed his surroundings as he looked, " whoa ! , this page is massive it could almost contain three of the citadel city."
The ice covered area was only third half of the space. John walked towards the edge of the ice as he reached there standing on the cliff. He could see the red molten lava stream was going undenith the ice as he was standing on it. Even with such conditions neither ice was melting or a sweat could be seen John.
CRA-KRAK-RAK", "KRIK!" .
Sound started to come out of the lava stream as the usual flow of the stream got disturbed and started to surge in upward direction.
" Thump " John falled back ward immediately as he saw a massive shadow was forming on the surface of the lava. The shadow started to become bigger and bigger as it came towards the surface.
Large amount of lava flew in all directions as a massive figure came out of the lava.
'I should have ran , when I got the chance. Instead I stood here like a statue.' a panicked face could be seen on John.
" You shouldn't think about running away. It might get you more in a dangerous situation , and you would not like that do you ? " Authorative and confident voice that of a woman in her thirties came from the massive figure coming out of the lava.
Large silver white wings flapped as the lava on it started to fall down from the massive body and snow white massive dragon appeared from beneath of the lava. She had a long and slender neck , the upper body was covered with silver armour like skin. Her head looked like a crown as two long and slender horns were attached to the front of the head.
She looked like a European dragon with a massive size of a three hundred metres. Her blue eyes shined as she looked at John, who was still in a daze.
' A real dragon, this is the first time I have seen a dragon ' thought John, but come back to his senses ' and stood straight ' a female dragon, it might be a good thing. As much as I know female dragons should be more calm than male once, even if this knowledge might came from my previous life , but I can't remember specifically the source as it's starts hurting in my head. But looking at this situation talking out of here will be the best choice when she can talk in human tongue. Many thoughts started to come in John's mind as his brain thinking exclereted for getting solution.
"You are not scared of me , I am a legendary frost dragon Cryonix. My name is enough to make shit the hell out of anyone who hears it. Or you have already peed in your pants , young boy."
John looked at the giant dragon only to get amused by the dragon's humour.
" I know right, all of them are not good catchphrase but you have keep it up with it."
"You are the first human in long time that has put his feet here, but you won't had without my permission." said Cryonix as he circled around John while talking.
" What do you mean, by that?." John asked in confusion only to realise something.
"Yes, it took you a second. The mimick is the one of the guardians of this land that I have appointed."
" So he works as a bait for the people so that he could lead them to here. Does he decides whom to kill and whom to spare ? Does he works for you?. Yes if he is then it must from long time, what about the story of his family ? Was it true or a bait. To make believe everyone.
"Oi.. oi.. why do you think I will answer your questions.? and would not kill you?." said Frost dragon as she lowered her head and looked at John
"As you said, there are not many humans who has come here and fewer people who have passed your test by not submitting to their greed. Old Martin could have killed the bandits from the start but he didn't, he only killed them when they had become more greedy to get everything. He spared me just because you did not wanted me killed. said John.
"You are half right and half wrong." Said the frost dragon after smirking.
"What do you know about me?".
John told all the stories that he had heard from the Old Martin.
" Most of them are diluted with time but some of them are still fresh in my mind. When I first landed on this place , few annoying humans attacked me thinking they got chance against me. "
" It's also a half truth, after killing the all annoying peasants. the slaves started to bow down against me so I left them to stay alive. Most of the people who are living in the city with you , are the offsprings of slaves. The monsters, they all died as soon as I reached here. My dragon might is to much for them to survive."
' She is making the answers as short as possible, it's more like she wants something from me. What it could be?. Hmm that's right superior beings always thinks lower beins as a either play things or entertainment. It's allready getting late, my parents might allready have started to find whereabouts me.'
" So what is the deal that will let me go out of here alive." said John with a straight face.
" Hmm .. straight forward, I like it." The frost dragon walked near John and used her long head to spiraled around the small body of John.
" I will ask you three questions, if I like the answers you will be free to go including your parents. You might not know the flow of time you are in this place from yesterday. Your parents are holding well against the monsters, it's also explains your strong presence. " said the frost dragon.
"Three questions and three lives. That is fair deal right?.' said as she laughed.
'Okay , so there is no need to have a need to get a right answer, instead something that make intergue her. For a being who is more than thousand years old to find something new is very rare.almost like out of the box or you could say out of the world like me. Hahahahah.. laughed internally.
The frost dragon was dumb founded as she looked at the small smirk on John's face.
John came out Hi inner thought as he saw a intense gaze of frost dragon and cleared his throat with a cough
"ahem. I am ready." said John.
" Answer me what is responsible for snow in every season and why is the snow is azure blue coloured.?" said Frost dragon Cryonix.
" Your dense mana is responsible for snow in all seasons. just you being exist is enough reason for this phenomena."
" That was easy, that was only a side question. Can you answer the main question?." said frost dragon with a scepticism.
"When the sun light enters the atmosphere it scatteres in air as they come in a contact with the small molecules present in air . the blue light scatteres and travels the most leading phenomena of blue sky and blue snow."
"Even when the sunlight directly Hits the snow glaciers on the ground it absorbs the red and yellow light and deflects the blue rays making people see azure blue snow." said John.
The frost dragon was completely in disbelief and asked
" Why a person who is living in the most remote places of the world knows ? and forget that how a five years old boy like you know something like that?." said Frost dragon but this time she was not in disbelief rather it was a expression of a child that might have found a new toy. Her being a massive dragon could not hide expression on her face.
' I allready have gotten this far this might be a gamble but this is all I got.'
"Because I.. I am not from this world."
