⚙️ IRON VEIL — Chapter Fourteen
Title: The King Without a Throne
---
"Three Days Later..."
The world had become quieter.
Not because humanity had won.
But because both sides were preparing.
Across every Iron Veil stronghold, patrols doubled. Every city checkpoint was reinforced with iron barricades. Blue Rose production plants worked twenty-four hours a day.
For the first time in decades...
Every Slayer knew a war was coming.
---
Iron Veil Headquarters
Inside the War Council Chamber, Director Helena Voss stood before a massive holographic map.
Every known demon activity was marked in crimson.
There were far too many.
Captain Lin broke the silence.
> Captain Lin: "We've confirmed attacks in eight sectors over the last seventy-two hours."
Commander Hale added,
> "They're not random anymore."
Lady Eve crossed her arms.
> "They're positioning themselves."
Samurai nodded.
> "Someone is commanding them."
Helena looked toward everyone.
> Helena: "Not someone."
She enlarged an image.
It was blurry...
But unmistakable.
Zenn.
His third eye glowed.
Six powerful demons stood behind him.
Helena spoke calmly.
> "We eliminated him in Sector 40."
Silence filled the room.
> "Instead..."
She looked directly at the image.
> "...we created something worse."
---
Meanwhile...
Hundreds of kilometers away...
Inside a forgotten underground cathedral built long before modern civilization...
Zenn sat upon a throne made entirely from gigantic bones.
The six generals stood below him.
No one spoke until footsteps echoed throughout the chamber.
Slow.
Heavy.
Confident.
Every general turned.
Even Krox instinctively stepped aside.
The mysterious demon entered.
Unlike Ragnar Vermis...
Unlike Zenn...
Unlike every demon present...
This one radiated absolute composure.
No rage.
No madness.
Only overwhelming confidence.
Zenn stood.
Not because he feared the demon...
But because he respected him.
> Zenn: "Welcome."
The mysterious demon looked around the chamber.
His gaze briefly stopped on each general.
Emmu lowered his eye.
Amir folded his hands respectfully.
Even Mara avoided direct eye contact.
The stranger finally looked toward Zenn.
> Unknown Demon: "So..."
A faint smile appeared.
> "...this is your army."
---
The Revelation
Zenn slowly turned toward everyone.
> Zenn: "Some of you know stories."
He looked around the chamber.
> "Others only know rumors."
His third eye glowed.
> "Today..."
> "...you will know the truth."
He faced the mysterious demon.
Then bowed his head.
Not deeply.
But enough for everyone to notice.
Every general widened their eyes.
Amir whispered,
> "Master..."
Krox frowned.
Even Emmu's second iris expanded in surprise.
Zenn spoke clearly.
> Zenn: "Allow me to introduce..."
The mysterious demon stepped forward.
The chamber became completely silent.
Then...
He spoke.
> "My name..."
A pause.
> "...is Azrael."
The name alone sent a chill through every demon present.
Stag lowered himself completely.
Vemmiz whimpered quietly.
Even Ragnar Vermis, sleeping beneath the earth many kilometers away...
Opened one eye.
---
Who Was Azrael?
Long before modern cities...
Long before Iron Veil...
Long before Blue Rose weapons...
There had existed a demon whose name disappeared from history.
Not because he was defeated.
Because every record about him had been intentionally destroyed.
He wasn't imprisoned because he was impossible to kill.
He was imprisoned...
Because every battle against him ended the same way.
Entire armies vanished.
Cities disappeared.
No survivors remained.
Iron Veil's founders had spent generations creating Prison Vault Axiom solely to contain him.
Not execute him.
Contain him.
---
Azrael Speaks
Azrael slowly walked toward Zenn's throne.
He didn't sit.
Instead...
He looked at every general.
> Azrael: "Tell me."
Silence.
> "What do you all want?"
Krox answered immediately.
> "War."
Mara spoke next.
> "Revenge."
Emmu smiled.
> "Fear."
Stag growled.
Vemmiz scratched the stone floor.
Amir bowed respectfully.
> "A future where demons no longer hide."
Azrael nodded.
Then looked toward Zenn.
> Azrael: "And you?"
Zenn answered without hesitation.
> Zenn: "Freedom."
Another silence followed.
Finally...
Azrael smiled.
It wasn't cruel.
Nor kind.
Simply... thoughtful.
> Azrael: "Then stop thinking like hunted animals."
Everyone listened carefully.
> "You attack cities."
> "You destroy buildings."
> "You frighten humans."
He shook his head.
> "That changes nothing."
Amir frowned.
> "Then what should we do?"
Azrael pointed toward the holographic map.
> Azrael: "Break their system."
He continued simply.
> "Destroy their factories."
> "Destroy their communications."
> "Destroy their supply lines."
> "Separate their strongest warriors."
> "Then..."
He smiled slightly.
> "...they will defeat themselves."
Amir's eyes widened.
> "That's..."
He couldn't finish.
It was brilliant.
Zenn slowly smiled.
> Zenn: "Exactly why I released you."
---
Final Scene
Far away...
Iron Veil satellites detected movement.
Not one demon.
Not two.
Hundreds.
Moving together.
Perfectly organized.
Back inside headquarters...
An operator looked toward Helena.
His voice trembled.
> "Director..."
> "The demons..."
He swallowed.
> "...they're marching."
Helena Voss slowly closed her eyes.
When she opened them again...
There was no fear.
Only determination.
> Helena: "Then the Second Demon War..."
She looked toward the giant map.
> "...begins today."
