Chapter 35 - Black Scorpions

Pulling his coat tighter around himself, Tarleth strode toward the courtroom with his jaw clenched, a scowl etched across his face as anger slowly boiled through his veins.

Stepping into the room, he was met by two of council members, who looked just as confused and irritated as he was.

Just as he was about to voice his frustration, the doors swung open.

The sharp click of the Viscount's boots echoed across the floor, followed by the unsteady footsteps of the woman trailing behind him.

"What nonsense is this, Vincent?"

Unable to hide his disdain, Tarleth spat.

Silence stretched through the room until Vincent stopped a few feet in front of them.

"Forgive me for the impromptu meeting. I could not wait until sunrise," Vincent said calmly.

Kayne frowned.

"I hope you did not drag us here because of that bloody whore of yours."

Vincent slowly turned his head toward the dark-haired councilor.
