"It isn't a matter of performing the jutsu that's shocking. It's the fact that you can visualise the scabbing process so solidly that's of note. Most genin learning the jutsu lack the proper focus and visualisation capabilities so it takes them about three to four months to get where you just reached in just a few minutes."
"Three to four months?" Haruto appeared shocked and surprised. He truly hadn't expected the gap to be so large. Which meant that he had to come up with an excuse for his skills or else it might raise suspicions, after all he hadn't ever studied the scabbing process before for it to be this effective in any sense.
So Haruto did the only thing he could, he blamed it on the dead, "Actually, Hiruko-san had explained the scabbing process to me in depth before while I was working with him on converting dead bodies into puppets before. I guess that is why I'm able to perform the jutsu so much better than the average genin."
Daichi narrowed his eyes in suspicion at the mention of Hiruko and it took him a second to recall who that was. But once the image and the name matched he immediately nodded, "I see... well either way this puts you ahead on the timeline to do things... it seems I'll have to reevaluate how I teach you as we go ahead anyway."
"What now?" Haruto asked Daichi softly, replanning how much he was going to show in front of Daichi to not seem out of the ordinary.
'Or do I just roll with it and convert myself into a medical ninja?'
'I won't be able to be a pure medical ninja since Danzo won't let me rot in the back lines with my skill in Scorch release, but he shouldn't be here for long anyway… if it's possible when the Hokage changes I should be able to convince the others to let me remain in the back lines as a medical ninja.'
'But will future missions from the template characters not require me to enter combat to unlock them?'
'What if someone combat oriented comes around… what if Unohana wants to pass on her kenjutsu and other skills to me… won't she require me to fight other ninja for it?'
'Damn it… let's just do both for now… I can specialize in one later down the line according to my luck in pulling out templates.'
"I hope you didn't think that was all I had planned for today… Although you're quite surprisingly good with the Scabbing jutsu you can still improve it in many different ways, for a start you can work on reducing the starting time of the jutsu, shaving off even just a few seconds can help you save just one more person in an emergency. As such we can practice more."
Haruto nodded and so began the torturous time, not for Haruto or Daichi but for the prisoner as Daichi continuously sliced the prisoner with his kunai and created more and more bleeding gashes across the man's limbs.
Daichi didn't go easy on Haruto when he noticed him getting better and better with the time spent activating the jutsu. He turned the wounds more and more complicated as time passed, beginning to stab the prisoner instead of slice him and sometimes even stabbing important organs like the liver.
They ran through prisoners rather quickly since each of them died quickly due to blood loss.
Eventually after running through about thirteen prisoners, Daichi called it a day.
"Let's end it here for today. From tomorrow we'll focus on prisoners with internal injuries rather than external wounds and after that for the rest of the week instead of just using the scabbing jutsu, we'll look into how we can combine it with the jutsu you used before, the poison extraction jutsu to speed up the process of healing a prisoner infected by a poison."
Haruto nodded and quickly cleaned himself with a clean cloth that Daichi handed him and left the Interrogation and Torture Department.
Immediately after that, Haruto went to Training Ground Seven to meet Kakashi and Naruto. And since he was early today, he caught them at a good time or a semi good time since Naruto was currently raging while sitting on the tree stump since he wasn't able to learn the Poison Extraction Jutsu as quickly as he'd learnt the fireball jutsu.
With Kakashi ignoring Naruto's tantrums for the most part since he hoped that Naruto would grow out of them on his own, he appeared rather free and that allowed Haruto to inform him of something crucial.
"Kakashi-san… I was wondering if you had any ideas for any research projects in the future…"
"Oh? Why the question?" Kakashi asked softly.
Haruto nodded and spoke equally softly, "Because if nothing goes wrong my current project should finish by the end of the week… I wanted another project so that I could keep researching things."
"Hmm… I see…" Kakashi didn't react to the good news in anyway directly, instead he appeared to seriously think about a new research direction and happened to glance at Naruto before a strange idea struck his mind and he blurted it out on the spot without much other thoughts about it, "What if there was a way to get the least chakra density of a tenketsu without much trial and error, directly?"
"Oh?" Haruto's eyes widened slightly as he too looked at Naruto who was still throwing a tantrum by glaring at the scroll open in front of him like it owed him his dead parents.
"What do you think?" Kakashi asked with an edge in his tone, "Do you think it's possible?"
"Hmm…" Haruto didn't answer right away, instead he thought back to Boruto and its scientific tools that could cast any jutsu from a scroll and frowned. 'Did those tools not cast the jutsu using the user's chakra?'
"It should be possible in theory… but I don't know how to do it yet… maybe a machine that can control your chakra automatically inside your body and perform the jutsu at several different least chakra density levels before it settles on what works?"
"Ho… that sounds like something that might work… why don't you try that…" Kakashi said blandly before pulling open his book and going back to reading it shamelessly.
Haruto nodded and similarly turned around and left for the Research and Development building.
Once Haruto arrived at his desk he caught the group that he'd hired packing things up to leave for the day, so Haruto quietly bowed a goodbye to them politely before picking his machine for the day as he began working on checking if the model was being trained well and if anything had interfered with it.
Everything seemed just fine so Haruto was about to pack up for the day, but then new machines that he'd ordered were delivered, so he spent some time setting them up before adding them to the model training algorithm pool and putting all the ram and compute to good use.
'At least there is no ram shortage here…'
Haruto was itching to play a game but there were no games on these machines so he was left wanting for more.
'Should I make a game for myself?'
'I can even sell it as a standalone product after I get the chip fabrication knowledge from Megamind's mission…'
'Then everyone will know the greatness of computer games!!!'
