"Good..." Daichi said softly in perhaps the only moment of praise in his entire career causing Haruto to freeze momentarily from the surprise. But before things could get awkward, Haruto quickly entered the cell and looked at Daichi expectantly for the new jutsu.
Daichi obviously noticed and spoke calmly while pulling out a small scroll from his shinobi tools pocket. "This is the true most basic Medical Ninjutsu that every shinobi on the path to becoming a medical ninja starts with. It's the Scabbing Jutsu."
"Scabbing jutsu…?" Haruto repeated softly under his breath.
"The Scabbing Jutsu helps the blood from exposed wounds to clot faster than normal, this can save the lives of your teammates in emergency situations so that he or she doesn't lose too much blood until a true medic arrives or as in our case it can help us extend the life of a tortured prisoner by forcing shut his wounds that we create."
"Of course, using this to permanently heal a large wound is a bad idea since it creates scar tissue and damages the cells in the area to forcibly close bloodflow. But beggars can't be choosers so this jutsu is an extremely helpful utility oriented jutsu."
"You may read this scroll here, and once you memorise it return it to me. You may not take this scroll wherever you please."
Haruto nodded calmly as he grasped the scroll from Daichi like it was a precious treasure.
He unfurled the scroll and under the dim lighting in front of Daichi and began going through it all.
The scroll was not much different from the Poison Extraction Jutsu scroll that Kakashi had shown him earlier. It was very bare bones and didn't even have the explanation that Daichi had just provided him. All that was written was inside it was the tenketsu through which to pass the chakra and their least activation density.
Haruto frowned as he read through the tenketsu required for the jutsu.
"This jutsu constitutes the entirety of the Poison Extraction Jutsu, is that for scanning the internals of the body and to control the chakra once it is sent inside the body to seal the wound?"
Daichi nodded, "Good catch, it is indeed for that reason… now learn it quickly, or else I'll have to reevaluate how I will be teaching you things going forward and have to rework the terms of our cooperation."
Haruto quickly nodded and began reading through the jutsu scroll in detail.
It took a while for Haruto to get through it but after a few minutes Haruto was ready to give it the first try.
'I need Physical Energy dominated Chakra for this jutsu… it'll be a little hard to control but nothing too terrible because of Megumin's excellent Chunin level chakra control reward.'
'Also while separating the spiritual energy needed for the jutsu, I need to be thinking about blood clotting. The stronger my imagery of blood clotting, the stronger the effect of the jutsu will be.'
Haruto had no trouble imagining blood clotting since Unohana's memories had plenty of situations where she dealt with blood clotting after or while she skinned her subjects.
Haruto created a little bit of physical energy dominated chakra within himself and mixed it with the appropriate amount of spiritual energy recommended by the scroll.
He then let the mixed physical energy dominated chakra into his chakra circulation system and immediately felt it jump around like an excited kid, reminding him partially of Naruto bouncing around everywhere after learning the fireball jutsu.
With the special chakra generated, Haruto finally began performing the jutsu in earnest.
He formed the appropriate handseals and passed the specially generated chakra through the right tenketsus with little difficulty causing a soft green glow of chakra enveloped his palms at the end of the circulation.
Daichi obviously noticed and created a sharp cut on the thigh of the prisoner in front of them who was tied to a wooden stake.
The prisoner screamed as a result as blood poured out of his thighs like a fountain but Haruto remained unmoved, he'd seen too much gore already, both in his own life and in Unohana's memories to be affected by such petty things anymore.
With a hand more steady than the one that Daichi used to hold the kunai, Haruto moved to seal the cut. As soon as Haruto pressed his palms against the cut, his chakra entered the prisoner's body through the cut.
All of a sudden Haruto could feel the blood rushing through the prisoner's arteries and veins with a level of clarity previously thought impossible.
"Is the clarity of sensing improved because I used Physical Energy Dominated chakra instead of normal chakra?" Haruto asked Daichi as he mapped out the cut on the prisoner's thigh.
Daichi nodded, "That's precisely it. Physically dominated chakra or yang nature chakra helps with sensing living things since it is inherently tied to the physical energy that life produces. As such various sensing techniques in the medical pathway all use yang nature chakra for a better picture of what you're healing."
"Makes sense…" Haruto nodded and continued manipulating his special chakra by filling the wound with it, and once the wound was filled with a certain amount of yang nature chakra a miraculous event soon occurred.
The blood that was flowing in hoards earlier soon began to slow down and clot on its own as the blood platelets gathered around the wound in large numbers and began forming a barrier using the fibrin protein to stop the blood flow.
Haruto observed the wound closing on its own with a miraculous expression.
'I did that?'
The words were the same ones Naruto had spoken when he'd first created a fireball on his own.
After all, Haruto came from a world where the human body largely wasn't meant to produce magical effects, so the effect of watching something miraculous happen in front of him, that too because of him causing it was a wonderful feeling.
Daichi was however shocked.
His face displayed an open expression of surprise and he looked like he'd seen a ghost as the wound closed firmly with a thick layer of scab forming over it on Haruto's first attempt.
"How did you do that!?" Daichi asked with obvious surprise in his tone.
Haruto leaned back a little because of how loud Daichi's voice was inside the mostly empty room and frowned a little.
'Was I a little too good?'
'But I could've done it even faster if I used Occlumency to further cement the image of the blood clotting while I was extracting spiritual energy from my mind...'
'Is this really too fast or is Daichi simply being sarcastic?'
Deciding to answer truthfully, Haruto spoke calmly, "The jutsu is almost similar to the poison extraction jutsu and my chakra control is decent because I practiced tree walking and to some extent water walking before... surely the jutsu shouldn't give me that much trouble?"
Daichi looked at Haruto with wide eyes for a second but true to his status as a Jonin quickly calmed down.
He looked at Haruto for a few seconds in silence before speaking up as the prisoner stopped screaming since the pain in his thigh from the cut started to lessen as it scabbed over.
