I stared at the charcoal-colored floor tile of my shower with a wave of frustration. The hot water cascading down my body and washing away the bubbles of my shower gel down the drain. I didn't expect tonight to go like this at all. I thought I would have been shit drunk now, singing to whatever nonsense Henry always played and calling it a night.
However the universe clearly had different plans for me.
I didn't want to leave the shower mainly for two reasons; one, I really regretted walking home when it was shit cold outside that it felt like I could barely feel my toes, and two, Connor was seated on my new couch in my living room looking like the man of my dreams.
It wasn't the plan to bring him back to my penthouse but he hugged me so tightly at the side of the road as I cried against his chest that despite my bitterness I allowed him to walk with me.
