Roland was bored so he searched and found Zombie island. He mapped the place from top to bottom and front to back. He was obsessed. His main concern was that we might accidentally land there after th helix malfunctions. The satellite feed shows a strange device was delivered to the place. It flickered to life and the humans in the area vanished. When the humans come back they will evict the aliens and I am going to be in so much trouble. I contacted the aliens nearest to me. It was the species of aliens living in the ocean. I told them to help me evict them before all the humans vanish. They asked me what I was going to do. I told them that I am taking my family to safety. I turned around I heard a whining sound. Then the humans started to disappear. I had to wait till all vehicles came to a stop. Then I followed the sound. The machine had absolutely no recognisable parts. So I walked away trying to figure out what I could do to fix it. I walked past a store selling electronic goods. The TVs showed a thunderstorm. I took a moment and summoned one. It hit the device and everyone came back. I came back to Jesse's. I told them what I had done and he send a few Nocturnals to destroy the device in other cities. I had to pack up and leave since a few people know that I can do it. Jesse moved me to his house in a different city. My family made sure to destroy the device and they began an investigation to find the culprit.
The aliens I contacted was amongst the aliens who made the humans vanish. A new device showed up this one made the humans and Nocturnals vanish. I was angry since I was the only who didn't vanish. I remembered being sprayed with alien blood years ago. I guess it is the reason I didn't vanish. I made myself invisible and flew to find the device. I summoned a thunderstorm and began to destroy the device. I used hypnosis to convince the aliens to leave planet and seek refuge elsewhere. Then I flew all over the states trying to find the rest of the devices to deactivate it. The aliens had begun moved in and were trying to change the place to their liking. They had started with the park since they weren't sure the device was stable enough to permanently vanish the humans. The one in the coastline was the easiest to blow up. Each time I summoned a deadly thunderstorm actually required alot of energy and willpower. I also had to use hypnosis to send the alien species out of earth. Afterwards I had to stop by a clinic or a hospital to get a few blood bags. One was on the ocean so I had to get a boat to get there to destroy it. The appearance of these devices varies according to the environment. Some were boxes with red lines going in different directions. Others had spikes which light up every few seconds while other were spherical with sparks flying.
The ones in the states were destroyed and everyone was returned. The angry humans decided to expell the aliens since they didn't give up the criminals. They left the planet but I had a feeling they will return. I used hypnosis to order someone with the authority to order the ones in the orbital station to sent out a signal to destroy the other devices. It went off with a bang and all those who vanished had returned. None blamed me in fact some were curious how they were rescued since all the actual residents of earth had been sent elsewhere. There were a few humans who said that I fixed it. A minority of Nocturnals knew I did it. The rest had no clue I did it. They asked around and was informed how I did it. The Nocturnals celebrated. The humans were curious and the vampires made up a story. The humans were told about waking me up after a group of my family vanished. They were concerned about my safety. I had fought aliens once and was doused with alien blood. So I was not affected by the device. I went from city to city destroying the thing to bring everyone back. Once the device was demolished I left for the next city. I am back where I was and I was going back to sleep.
The people protested. They were kindly reminded that I am going to sleep as per the absolute laws. They believed rules are made to be broken. The Nocturnals explained they have survived thousands of years by following the rules. They will not break it for anyone's comfort. The locals searched the records and saw where the first thunderstorm occured and the showed up at the houses with Nocturnal names. One showed up at Jesse's place and he politely sent them away. I was moved out in a freezer truck along with my security. We stopped by a repair shop and we switched vehicles. We moved to the north and Isadora was kind enough to host me. She was curious how I had summoned it. I told her it was tiresome and I am not interested doing it again. She was happy for the rescue. I placed my hand on her head and gave her a preview. She was shocked but still a party was on the menu. The Nocturnals came and we talked about the problems and possible solutions. We danced the night away and when they left. I felt happy. I had such a huge family. Isadora stared as my euphoria dimmed. She grinned ear to ear before going to bed. I went upstairs and closed the door.
The next morning a tiny package arrived for me. It smelled human made. It made me realise the orbital station might be following my movements. I told Isadora and she had the data deleted from the database. Apparently there is a werewolf in space. I felt like a proud mom. The package was placed inside a glass box and opened with mechanical hands. It was a brooch. A glass chrysanthemum with several leaves surrounding it like they were it's guards. They put it under a microscope and saw a lens. The brooch was destroyed and a message was sent to check any parcels that come for me. Since my family keeps moving they had no clue where to look. They realised it is wrong to send bugged presents so they sent meat. They were tested for any sort of anomalies before they decided to eat it. The humans would apply for jobs. They get them but not in places where they could do damage or eavesdrop. They are not employed in the mansions or penthouses or manors where Nocturnals live. A few would join our family. I am always happy to have new family members. They can't see me but they can sense my excitement.
I was sitting on the roof watching the stars. One wolf approached me. He was curious how I am still alive with my security being so immature. I grinned, "I like originality. They keep me on my toes and also they think outside of the box. I have never been in a situation where I regret having them." I looked up to see Roland was an inch taller. So were the others. I winked at them and they bowed with respect. The wolf asked me why I chose Oleg. I explained my heart chose him. He was stable, kind and sometimes funny. He is romantic but can switch to guard mode in the blink of an eye. I took a moment to remember the incident in Kirigan and Kaz's place. The guys grew furious and the vampires snarled while the werewolves growled. The new one wanted me to elaborate. So I touched his forehead to show him the sniper who snuck in and tried to commit murder. When my hands retracted his claws were extended and ready to rip someone to pieces. He wanted to know who sent him and why.
I told him about Link. A previous werewolf chosen to be emperor who chose to treat everyone like dirt. He was humanised and sent to live a mortal life. He remembered my visits to Kaz's place to meet my family. He paid a sniper to kill Oleg because he believes Oleg is a problem. The solution was murder. The man stared like he had heating issues. He asked me to repeat it so I showed him the memory and laid down to watch the stars. Isadora told me to come inside. I grimaced, "They are releasing zombies into the city. I just want to make sure my family gets to safety." Isadora swore like a sailor, "I forget your have sensitive hearing. Should I inform the family they are in danger?" I waved her off, "I'll do it myself" I connected with them all and showed them the time they had to reach safety before zombies ate them. I asked them nicely if they could come here or go to a high ground since I had no interest in more funerals. They complied and the humans saw them mobilising. One asked them what was going on. They explained that they heard a rumor that zombies are being released into the city so they are trying to get somewhere safe. I told them to come to Isadora. I will extend the shield to protect them. They told me the shield will be a dead giveaway so they will come but I need to be careful.
