"The cubs are still so small," Euphoria protested the second she realized the new sleeping arrangements. "What if something happens? It's dangerous for them to be in a room alone."
Hayes, already settled into the furs and looking slightly disgruntled by the sudden interruption, didn't budge. "They aren't that small anymore," he countered, his hand reaching out to pull her back down.
Before she could offer another word in defense of the lions, Hayes had effectively silenced her with a kiss. The rest of the night was a blur of rising heat and rhythmic motion, leaving her with no breath left for arguments.
