Chapter 14 - Chapter 12 The Villian

Yuri POV

My hands froze.

The phone almost slipped from my fingers.

For a second, I thought I was imagining it.

I read the message again.

And again.

And again.

The words didn't change.

Unknown Number

We know everything.

My blood ran cold.

No.

No.

No.

This wasn't possible.

Nobody was supposed to know.

Nobody.

I could feel my heartbeat pounding in my ears.

Another notification appeared.

The screen lit up again.

My hands started shaking.

Slowly, I opened the message.

You talked.

The air left my lungs.

I immediately stood up from the chair.

The sudden movement caught everyone's attention.

"Yuri?" Jay said.

I couldn't answer.

My throat felt dry.

Another notification.

Another message.

I didn't want to open it.

But I knew I had to.

Slowly, I looked down.

Now deal with the consequences.

For a moment, everything around me disappeared.

The room.

The people.

The voices.

Everything.

I knew exactly what those words meant.

And that terrified me.

"Yuri."

Jay's voice sounded distant.

I looked up.

Everyone was staring at me.

Keifer stood up immediately.

His expression remained calm.

But I could see the concern in his eyes.

"What happened?" Keifer asked.

I swallowed hard.

My mouth felt dry.

My hands were still shaking.

I slowly handed him my phone.

Without saying a word.

Keifer took it.

His eyes scanned the screen.

Then his expression hardened.

Jay immediately grabbed the phone from him.

"What is it?" Jay asked.

Then she read the messages.

The color drained from her face.

The room fell silent.

Complete silence.

I laughed.

A weak laugh.

A broken one.

"See?" I said.

My voice cracked.

"I told you."

Nobody spoke.

"I told you they would find out."

Jay slowly looked at me.

Fear filled her eyes.

"What do they mean by consequences?" she asked.

I looked away.

Because I already knew the answer.

And I hated it.

"I don't know," I lied.

Keifer immediately narrowed his eyes.

He knew I was lying.

Of course he did.

"Yuri."

His voice was firm.

"Tell us the truth."

I closed my eyes.

For a moment, I couldn't speak.

Then I whispered,

"They don't make empty threats."

The room became even quieter.

I could hear my own heartbeat.

Jay slowly sat down.

"Yuri..." she said softly.

I laughed again.

This time there was no humor in it.

Only exhaustion.

Only fear.

And guilt.

So much guilt.

Because deep down...

I knew this wasn't over.

Not even close.

And for the first time in months...

I was scared for all of us.

Keifer POV

The room was silent.

Nobody knew what to say after Yuri showed us the messages.

I looked at Yuri.

Then at Jay.

Then back at the phone.

Something wasn't right.

The timing.

The messages.

Everything felt planned.

Before I could say anything—

A strange smell filled the room.

I frowned.

"What is that?" Jay asked.

Yuri immediately stood up.

His expression changed.

"Keifer."

I looked at him.

"Something is wrong."

My chest tightened.

The smell became stronger.

Much stronger.

Suddenly Rory opened the door.

"Guys, do you smell—"

He stopped.

The entire hallway looked hazy.

Confusion spread across everyone's faces.

"What is happening?" Edrix asked.

Nobody had an answer.

The next few seconds felt chaotic.

People were coughing.

Staff were running around.

Alarms started ringing somewhere in the building.

Then everything became blurry.

The last thing I remember seeing was Jay.

"Jay!"

I reached for her.

Then darkness.

When I opened my eyes again, my head was pounding.

The room looked unfamiliar.

For a moment I couldn't remember what happened.

Then it hit me.

Jay.

I immediately sat up.

"Jay."

No answer.

My heart dropped.

"JAY!"

I searched the room.

Nothing.

The bed beside mine was empty.

Completely empty.

Panic hit me instantly.

I rushed outside.

The hallway was filled with familiar faces.

Rory.

Edrix.

Felix.

Mayo.

Ci-N.

Yuri.

Everyone looked shaken.

"Where is she?" I asked.

Silence.

Nobody answered.

My chest tightened.

"Where is Jay?"

Rory looked away.

Edrix clenched his fists.

Then Yuri finally spoke.

"We can't find her."

The world stopped.

"What?"

"We checked everywhere," Rory said.

"We checked every room," Edrix added.

"Nothing."

I shook my head.

"No."

This wasn't happening.

This couldn't be happening.

I immediately grabbed my phone.

No messages.

No calls.

Nothing.

Jay's phone was unreachable.

No location.

No signal.

Nothing.

For the next several hours, everyone searched.

Every hallway.

Every camera.

Every entrance.

Nothing.

It was as if she had vanished.

Then suddenly—

"Keifer!"

Edrix's voice echoed through the room.

Everyone turned.

Edrix was staring at his laptop.

His face had gone pale.

Rory immediately moved beside him.

"What did you find?"

Edrix slowly looked up.

His expression terrified me.

"We found a location."

Silence.

My heart pounded.

"Where?" I asked.

Edrix swallowed hard.

Edrix said, "St. Gabriel Memorial Hospital."

I immediately grabbed my keys.

But Edrix stopped me.

Edrix said, "Wait."

My heart dropped.

I said, "What?"

Edrix zoomed into the map.

The pin moved.

Further.

Further.

Past the emergency wing.

Past the patient wards.

Past the main building.

Toward an isolated structure hidden behind the hospital.

The room became silent.

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

Then Edrix whispered,

"The signal isn't coming from the hospital."

Rory said, "Then where?"

Edrix looked up.

His face completely pale.

Edrix said, "...the old mortuary building behind it."**

Silence.

Absolute silence.

My blood ran cold.

And for the first time that night...

I felt fear.
