I stared at the green liquid inside the cup for a while before looking up to meet his eyes again. He was standing closer now, his intense scent waltzing uninvited into my senses " But…l…." The words seemed to have traveled far away from my head when he grabbed my smaller face in his large ones, his figure bent in a way that accommodates the position.
Spark spattered across my skin from the tip of his fingers, sending jittery feelings all over me.
" You're scared?". He stated, his intense eyes boring into mine like it could read all the unsaid words in there. " No one would hurt you. I would never let any of them this close to you".
I nodded, my tongue still refusing to produce any coherent sound.
My hands were in my lap and I didn't know what to do with them because every coherent instruction my brain was trying to send downward kept getting intercepted somewhere around my chest. My erratic beating of my heart was loud enough to drown out my own thoughts.
