Chapter 36 - A Place to Stay

The grass blades were protruding out of the ground, with houses passing by to the left and right.

Satya continues walking on the road, built by a forgotten civilization.

The sounds of his footsteps echo in his dark world.

The Shadow of an old man guided his path through the maze of forgotten times.

..........

After walking for a bit Satya heard water rushing and flowing from the top of a structure.

The shadow of it proved it to be a fountain, a headless angel adorned the middle of the mountain, water spraying from it throughout the day and night.

It's a figure a bit delicate and adorned with the riches of time.

Though Satya couldn't see it, he could only be awed by the shadow of the light.

The figure moved, pointing its delicate fingers at Satya.

But neither the shadow nor Twilight reacted, so Satya continued on his walk throughout time.

Soon a towering structure presented itself in shadows to the blind Satya, though it was tall, its shadow presented a straight path to the top for the dime.

A staircase stood imposingly, presenting a straight path.

By touch, it was full of grooves, just like a tree.

Satya's imagination was running wild in the absence of light, with only shadows presenting the path.

After reaching the top, the wind congratulated Satya, cooling off his sweat with a feeling of freshness.

Stepping forward the structure waved a little.

The shadows were saying it was a bridge.

An endless chasm spreads beneath it.

Ancient shadows warn Satya of its depths.

At the end of the path, Satya looked back.

His eyes were blue, his vision returning a little.

Walking forward, the world inclined a little.

A steep hill awaited him in Front.

The hill was empty, nothing adorning its edges.

At the top lay a structure, grand and majestic.

It keeps the gates open outside the world of worries.

Satya looked from a tall mound to the gates.

His heart racing at the jade ingravings.

The walls were black, just as diamond.

To touch it almost felt like glass but almost impenetrable.

Satya's eyesight returned, his eyes covered in a dark hue.

In front of him stood a giant gate which weighed many tons.

But the odd thing was.

It was pushed open just by a touch.

The second Satya stepped inside, something was pushed outside.

And his shadow soon left his embrace to be left outside.

The shrine was free from the never-ending fog.

The sky was covered by harmless stars.

Looking outside he saw two figures standing a bit apart.

One was made of black shadows, and lightning represented his eyes.

The other was made of white fog and only darkness made his eyes.

"Wha....."

Satya looked at them bitterly.

A sense of weakness hit Satya and he fell to the ground.

A kin to a normal human but just a bit modified.

He was not as abnormally strong or fast as before.

A feeling of loss was in his heart.

The aftermath of the separation tortured him.

But he felt a bit at peace.

What should he call this peace, he didn't have words.

Satya took a last bitter glance at the figures.

Leaving the silent companions behind Satya went inside the shrine.

The shrine was majestic, akin to a castle.

Satya reached a white jade slab.

It was carved with beautiful patterns and vibrant colors.

It was a map.

A map of the shrine.

It was labeled.

"The Shrine of Rest."

The shrine was divided into three parts, just like a Chinese castle.

The first part "The Outer Shrine".

The second part "The Inner Shrine".

The Third part "The Heart".

Distinct colors marked each place in the painting.

A special place in the green was designated as the travellers' stay.

Satya followed the path guided in the map and soon reached the building.

It was a marvelous white palace, with some magic inscriptions written on it.

"Liberation Palace"

"Odd name"

Satya continued to look at the palace from the outside.

Then.

He found some magical inscriptions written on the gate.

They were all somehow connected to liberation.

With just a step inside the gate, Satya found out what liberation truly was.

It was.

Liberation from pain.

Liberation from sleep.

Liberation from hunger.

Liberation from fatigue.

Liberation from worries.

And finally.

Liberation from injury.

It was thus described as a stay for travellers.

It was truly blissful.

Satya's eyes teared up a bit.

A bitter smile on his face.

Satya could finally sigh in relief.

The inside of the palace seemed sooo cozy that one would want to sleep.

Satya wasn't sleepy yet the bed called him to sleep.

So he slept.

But how long he would sleep is only known by the palace.

{Old companions left behind.

A bliss awaits me.

But life was truly blissful.

Only with my companions.}
