It had been one week since Harrison was discharged from the hospital, and Julius had been counting every single day.
One week of good mornings that did not feel right. One week of Harrison's eyes looking away too fast whenever Julius tried to hold his gaze. One week of calls that never connected and replies that were too short and did not sound like Harrison at all.
Julius sat behind his office desk and stared at the wall in front of him. He turned his phone over in his hand slowly, the screen still glowing from his last unanswered call.
"That Enigma could never ignore my call or avoid me without a reason. Something was definitely going on." Julius thought to himself.
He avoided nothing and feared nothing, so the fact that he was avoiding Julius specifically could only mean one thing. Something was going on and Harrison had decided on his own the way he always decided things that Julius did not need to know about it.
Julius picked up his phone and called Marcus.
