We were in the hanger bay c 107 the lowest ranked hanger. Still erked me my dream job got displaced to this dump.
Missing tools that one has to personally replace, my hands flew across the digtal screen. Typing across straight digtal air, it still amazes me how subpar this place is
The captain walked towards me from below thinkin he could help. Please im a genius, top of my class. And yet, here I am stuck in this den of old raijus leftovers. I looked around me one last time hoping this this waste of scrap actually improved, like they said it did. Leftovers parts,no, old mech suits with no clear direction, yes. And finnaly the real kicker, the only real mech suit, was a titan class. The one im working on.
I sighed
Im barely able to fend for myself. And yet.. the expect me to fix this with just, diagnostics, an lost tools.
Seeing the captain down there i realised he was waiting for my response before he got up this hulking mech.
"System diagnostics are.. strange today."
Only then did he use the lift to get up here.
Metal wiring the long cable retracted and mad the cap fly up. Landing on the side hatch he came over and looked over my shoulder. "Yea.. that is strange"

"How can it be that the system is all green but.. its acting as tho it has a pilot, in the cockpit" his voice was gruff with concern.. I didnt even know "that was possible"

The old man almost fell off the titan moving forward. Then sideways he fell but managed to land on—
i fell inside the cockpit fully in there. Panic fell between deaf ears. And all i heared was
A yell and a splattering wet sound.

And the cockpit lit up, a green grid folding light into.. a display of the whole three sixty view around the titan. On layer of it being clear of any obstacles. The second layer being that of a green grid like reconstruction of the titans form. And it was moving, skidding I heard a voice call out. Activating IFW'S.
i froze like a vampire in human skin. Caught between changing skins of a human the— my ranting was forced to stop as we burst through the section c wall leading to.. my stomach dropped as i realised i was free falling from the sky! This machine didn't have its propulsion system unlocked! Im dead! But then.. i didnt fall, but instead slid down the sky as if it was a viable surface. I looked below me only to see clouds or visible wind below were the feet should be.
Sheer awe hit me, as the feeling of gravity taking hold shot fear into my veins. Then the titan did something weird.. it spoke.
Well well well I didnt expect for their to be passagers left on this runaway. No matter i suppose I was always one for the-a-ter.
I squinted at the voice. Then realized what was going on. As the chair scraped me in agiast my will. Well guess it hurts to have a fall guy if this fails. A sound of shrugging transfered through. Idk know how but the machine seemed to respond to that shrugging. And dived straight towards the magnetic rail way.
This is bad! This is bad!! Not only is this mech,no, titan moving on its own i landed eith a hard slam of metal. The magnetic tram recognized a machine on its rails and balred red. Only for it to turn blue as it activated.
"Hehehehehheheheh this part is always the fun part. Just sit back and relax for were about to have.. some fun time! The sound of giggles went through as a heard.. a child? Is that a child?! Who are you?! "

The sound of a button being clicked sent shockwaves through the machine the sound of electricity and mana bonding to the machine and my face went pale. Hes bonding the titan to the infrastructure. Is he mad!?

Of a blue eagle, Right next to them was a porcelain like child eith silver hair. Who looked about ready to kill me. "Ill have you know im a 108".. my face fell "oh.. s- sorry lady vam—piure
"I didn't know i was in the face of vampire royalty" i bowed my head hiding the straight fear in my heart.. if shes a 108.. then shes about to rapidly grow into a teen. And if I manage to survive. I swalled. And a angry vampire teen runs after me.. ill have squadrons of vampires on me if im lucky.
She smilled a.. gulp she saw my swallow and laughed." What something on my face offends you?" I dared not look up.. I saw the picture of vampire royalty. Their... inhuman.
"N-no mam i was just nervous of your displeasure." She giggled a child like laugh, one that almost put me at ease. It didn't it made it worse.
"Now that were done with the pleasantly amusing convo let's move on to the second question. Drum roll please." The child began to do a loud banging drumrol not so reminiscent of an old trash can being hit.
Gotta love old tech i thought soundly with not an inch of insanity
"Tadaaaa! You are to be my scapegoat to an assassination plot of the heir of the nagaraboshi clan!!!" As he did jazz hands of all things My heart gave up before me. And I started to have a heart attack. Blood pumping then stopping,mouth bubbling foam. The young vampire looked disgusted.
"Kenny stop that nasty mechanic from dying, hes ugly when he dies. Right away your your—"
My thoughts began to wane my mind racing to survive but their was no solution.

A jolt a mana shot through my system making me jump in my seat only to hit the straps. "Miss vam-puire I like the sound of that." My eyes peeked open and I saw him waving his hands" what have I told you about saying my name?"
"She looked down and pouted. But the nasty man was dying like dog withought reason to live. Pathetic and ugly."
I frowned at that. Ugly dog? "Im not and ugly dog" I whispered. The feed went quiet and then they both stared at me.
"What did you just say?" They both spoke at the same time, voices syncing together.
"I said!" I grabed my ball wrench and smashed it on the control booth. The laughed and then the vampire stared at me. "What i said!"

This time I ignored her looking at the visuals there's gotta be some way to"oh if your looking for a way out.." he laughed" their isn't." I paused at that then hit the thing anyways.
It exploded sparks in my face as I started to rip. at..the...

He theatrical man sighed a dramatic, long sigh. "Whatever i guess you won't be able to"
I tuned them out, and refocused on escaping
I worked on the digital blue coding an old system. But dispite its archaic display it is divinely made. I sat there in awe for a moment. The sheer density of code alone was worth.. i put my hands through my hair like a million, and thats just the raw data. If it gets compiled into the real deal it could become into the.. grand code that made it all! Thats it thats my solution.
I worked my way around the coding and sought for one specif order. Order override.

The ai was fighting back but whatever it wad doing was to late! I put up my hands in freight for we crashed the wall. Rocks falling. As we began our decent into.. my face paled the knightcity

The titan landed hard on a nearby building the went back to skating on the sky recharge complete.
What recharged! As we slated i realized their arent any weapons on this thus minimizing the possible damage.
And unfortunately that wasn't true.
Activating oh shut up would you!? The titan went silent as green lights almost fully flared back.
If i dont do something im doomed to end the heir of nagaraboshi! Why else would they go through all this trouble!
Little did i know that this day, this boring day would change the rest of my banned life.
