"Can I…can I kiss you?"
Anna's brain short circuited.
Her answer, a solid and resounding yes, buzzed on the tip of her tongue yet refused to come out. She leaned into him, her eyes fluttering down to his soft lips. She wanted to close the space between them and feel his lips against hers.
His affinity was 17, meaning he was interested. Even slightly.
"I…" she started to say.
Suddenly, the door slammed open.
"There you are!" a cheerful voice called out. "I've been looking all over for you, cutie!"
It was Kai.
Anna shot away from Ray as if his touch was fire. She rose to her feet, her cheeks flushed and her hands smoothing down her gown. "H-hi! What…wat are you doing here?" her voice tapered off at the end.
