I let out a breathless, emotional laugh, throwing my arms tightly around his neck. I buried my face against his shoulder, squeezing him with everything I had. "Thank you, Draven! Thank you so much!"
Draven didn't hug me back immediately. Instead, he let out a low, deeply unbothered rumble from his chest, his large hands resting firmly on my waist to keep me balanced on his lap.
"That is hardly enough," he murmured, his deep voice carrying a wave of mock offense. "I am highly disappointed in you, Seraphina."
I pulled back just an inch, a bright, triumphant smile gracing my lips as I looked into his eyes behind those reading glasses. "I simply didn't understand my husband's grand plan."
"It is bad," he shot back flatly, his dark eyes scanning my face before his large fingers wrapped gently around my wrist.
He gave it a soft, evaluating squeeze, his brow furrowing into a sharp line. "You are getting thinner."
