This is bad!!
Bojack and his crew didn't recognize Frieza, but they could tell from the tone of this mysterious powerhouse that things were about to take a turn for the worse. Instinctively, they began to back away.
"In the eyes of a God of Destruction, you were never really anything at all," Gran remarked. "As long as we're in a good mood, I wouldn't even bother acknowledging your existence."
Gran was right. To the Kai, races like the Saiyans or the Frost Demons—and even beings like Moro who appeared later—were considered ultimate evils. But to a God of Destruction, they were insignificant.
After all, Frieza, his father, and his older brother were all allowed to live, weren't they? Even with a monster like Moro, Beerus didn't give him a second thought. It was only because King Vegeta was foolish enough to annoy a God of Destruction that the Saiyan race was wiped out.
"However..." Gran glanced at the young Broly in his arms before fixing a cold, piercing stare on Zangya. "You dared to lay a hand on my little brother. That makes me very unhappy. And because of that, you all have to die!"
A God of Destruction is the true master of a universe. Aside from Beerus and Whis, Gran was the authority here. To him, all other mortals were little more than servants. Making him unhappy carried dire consequences.
"Wait, what?!"
The situation had shifted so rapidly that Bojack and his four companions stared in shock. A little brother? That tiny monster was the sibling of this mysterious powerhouse? How was that even possible?
"Dammit, Zangya! What did you do? Start talking!" Bojack shouted as he retreated.
"Boss, I swear I didn't do anything!" Zangya pleaded, her own footsteps faltering in regret. She cursed her own impulsiveness; the kid hadn't even moved against her at first, yet she just had to fire that unnecessary energy blast. Now, the kid's "big brother" had come to collect the debt.
"You 'didn't do anything'? Then why is he saying that?!" Bojack found it strange that Zangya had been targeted by a little monster in the first place. Now it all made sense. Pressured by the overwhelming divine aura, he grabbed Zangya and violently shoved her forward. "You stupid woman, you started this—you deal with it!"
The pressure emanating from this stranger was terrifying. Bojack knew his own strength paled in comparison. If he didn't run now, he'd be dead for sure.
"Ahhh! Boss, why would you do this?!" Heavily injured and exhausted, Zangya stood no chance of resisting Bojack's strength. She was hurled directly toward Gran.
"Using Zangya as a shield again?" Gran tsked at the sight. Her fate was playing out exactly as it did in the stories. "But... do you really think you can escape?"
Gran didn't move against Bojack immediately. Instead, he met Zangya as she flew toward him, catching her by the throat with one hand.
"You thought you could touch my little brother?" he asked coldly.
Zangya struggled desperately, her eyes pleading for mercy, her muffled cries suggesting she knew she had made a mistake. But no matter how much she squirmed, she couldn't break free from Gran's iron grip.
"Hmph. Perish, woman."
Gran let go, and for a split second, Zangya thought she might have been spared. She was wrong. A flash of violet light erupted from Gran's palm.
"HAKAI!"
"AGHHH!! WHA—WHAT KIND OF POWER IS THIS?!"
As the purple energy enveloped her, Zangya felt her very soul screaming in agony. A moment later—BOOM!—an energy surge erupted, and Zangya vanished from existence. This wasn't just death; she was erased so completely that she wouldn't even manifest in the Other World.
Killing her was as effortless as stepping on an ant. Gran didn't feel a flicker of emotion as he turned his attention to the others. Placing two fingers to his forehead, he and little Broly vanished with a sharp zip.
Across four different directions in space, Bojack and his remaining crew were fleeing. They thought splitting up would ensure at least one of them survived. It was a clever tactic, but against Gran's Instant Transmission, it was nothing more than a joke.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Three more tides of energy rippled through the vacuum of space as Gran erased Bujin and the others. These explosions occurred because Gran's mastery of Destruction wasn't yet at the "conceptual" level. Once his power reached the true level of Divine Law, there would be no explosions—his targets would simply dissolve into stardust, just like when Beerus performed the technique.
Meanwhile, Bojack sensed the three energy signatures vanishing. He knew his crew was dead, but he felt no sorrow. To him, they were disposable as long as he survived.
"We split up! How is he killing them so fast?!" Terrified, Bojack pushed his speed to its absolute limit.
Suddenly, a silhouette appeared directly in his path. Bojack screeched to a halt, his pupils shrinking to pinpricks. "Impossible! How are you so fast?!"
It was Gran, still wearing his weighted training suit, holding the unconscious Broly.
"Where do you think you're going?" Gran asked flatly.
"I... I..." Bojack trembled violently. He was too fast. This monster was just too fast. "Lord... please! It wasn't me! It was Zangya! She's the one who bullied your brother! Please, spare me!" Bojack dropped to his knees in the void of space, kowtowing frantically.
"Spare you?" Gran shook his head with a cold laugh. "If I hadn't shown up, you would have joined in to kill him."
"I was wrong! Please..." While kowtowing, Bojack suddenly lunged. A lethal beam of light shot from his fingertip, aimed directly at Gran's heart. Realizing he wouldn't be spared, he chose to fight like a cornered rat.
Gran didn't even flinch. Seeing this, Bojack began to laugh. "Hahaha! Die!"
The beam struck Gran's chest and ricocheted off with a metallic clink, sparks flying as if a nail had hit a thick steel plate.
"Is that the best you've got?" Gran asked, casually brushing off his gravity suit. Even without the suit Whis had given him, his Ultra Instinct-honed body and raw power meant a fly like Bojack couldn't leave a scratch on him. He wasn't like Goku from the early Dragon Ball Super days—he wasn't about to be taken out by a common laser gun.
"How... how is this possible?!" Bojack stared in utter disbelief. That was his deadliest sneak attack.
"Nothing is impossible. Now, disappear." Gran leveled his hand at Bojack. "Hakai."
"NO! STOP!!"
Bojack was consumed by the purple glow, suffering the same agonizing erasure of body and soul. A moment later, a massive energy discharge signaled his total deletion from the universe.
"That's more like it," Gran muttered with a slight smile. "A family should always stay together, even in destruction." He looked up toward the heavens.
In the distant North Kai's Planet, King Kai jumped in fright, collapsing to the ground and gasping for air.
"He... he noticed me again!" he wheezed. "But the Destroyer-candidate said patrolling the galaxy is my job, so... it should be fine, right?" He began to hop around happily. He had been worried that Bojack's crew didn't meet the "quota" for destruction, but in the end, they were wiped out anyway. What King Kai didn't realize was that it had nothing to do with quotas—they simply annoyed Gran.
"Hahaha! I have to share this news with the other three!" King Kai wiggled his rear excitedly, preparing to boast to the other Galaxy Kais about Bojack's demise.
Back in the dark void, Gran hovered with the little boy in his arms. Broly was tattered and covered in visible wounds, but now that he was unconscious, his massive muscles had shrunk back to their normal size, and his feral expression had softened. Gran gave the boy's round cheek a playful pinch. "Soft. Not bad."
He pulled a Senzu Bean from his pocket and popped it into Broly's mouth. As the boy swallowed, a massive surge of power erupted from his body, blowing nearby planetary debris far into the distance.
"His base power jumped again?" Gran mused. By his estimation, little Broly's base battle power had hit ten million. It had only been a few months since they left Planet Vampa. Legendary Super Saiyans really were monsters.
Broly slowly opened his eyes, rubbed them, and let out a long yawn. "Huh? Gran! You're back!" He stood up straight and balled his tiny fists. "Gran, that lady hit me!"
"It's okay. You killed her."
"Eh? Did I lose control and kill her again?" Broly's eyes sparked with excitement.
"Yeah. You took her out yourself," Gran lied, patting the boy's head.
"Awesome!" Broly gritted his teeth. "That lady was mean, hitting me with a blast for no reason. Didn't she know I lose my temper? Serves her right!" It was clear that Zangya's sneak attack had really bothered him.
Gran chuckled. Zangya had indeed been unlucky; of all the people to provoke, she chose the one kid you should never touch.
"Alright," Gran said after a moment. "It's time to go." He looked around. There used to be a planet here, but the fight and Broly's subsequent power-up had reduced it to dust. There was no reason to stay.
"Yay!" Broly cheered. "I'm hungry, Gran! Let's go find something yummy!" Over the past few months, Broly's personality had shifted from somber to increasingly lively.
"Let's go." Gran took the boy's hand and used Instant Transmission to leave the North Galaxy.
They arrived at a primitive planet in the East Galaxy, teeming with wildlife. This time, Gran skipped the wild bulls and opted for terrestrial dinosaurs, deep-sea tuna, and giant prehistoric birds. The two Saiyans feasted until they could barely move.
After eating, Gran flew to a nearby dead planet and raised his hand. "Hakai!"
A streak of violet light burrowed into the core. BOOM! The planet was erased instantly. After two and a half months of practicing on dead worlds, he could finally destroy an entire planet in one shot. Gran closed his eyes, feeling the terrifying weight of his Power of Destruction growing.
But it still wasn't "The Law." He knew that true mastery of the Divine Law of Destruction couldn't be achieved just by blowing things up, but he wasn't discouraged. If he was this strong now, he could only imagine his power once he truly touched that realm.
"It's time to start targeting the planets that have developed incorrectly," Gran said, opening his eyes. He didn't know how long it would take to reach the level of Law, but with his talent, it shouldn't be long. His real work was only just beginning.
And so, Gran and little Broly began their journey to master the Laws of Destruction. Gran stopped practicing on dead rocks and began systematically removing the planets that failed to meet the universe's standards.
"Hakai."
"Hakai."
One by one, the substandard planets that Beerus had let pile up for nine years were erased. Gran's speed and efficiency only grew with each passing day.
The Sacred World of the Destroyers
Time flew by. A full year had passed since Gran began his mission. It was now Age 750.
On the lush grass in front of the Destroyer's Palace, Beerus lay on his side, propping his head up with one hand while the other fished a chip out of a bag. He munched away while watching a projection of Gran's progress.
"Whis, what do you think of him now?" Beerus asked, popping another chip into his mouth.
"His Power of Destruction is hovering right on the edge of becoming a Law," Whis replied, standing nearby.
In the projection, Gran's power was frightening. A single wisp of violet light was enough to destabilize and erase an entire star system's worth of planets.
"He's close," Beerus agreed. "I just wonder how long it'll take him to make that final step."
"Indeed. After all, if I recall correctly, it took you quite some time to master the Law of Destruction back then..."
Before Whis could finish, Beerus sat bolt upright. "Hey! Don't go comparing me to him!"
