For the next few days, Aizawa and the other teachers kept us busy in Gym Gamma.
Normally, I'd be up in arms at not being able to sleep in and enjoy time with Sasha after what I'd been through this summer, but I actually had lots of fun experimenting with various new weapons.
I'd also apparently pleased some more cosmic beings.
[Gift from beyond the veil, 1x Random Gold Ticket] (BBWulf)
[Gift from beyond the veil, 1x Random Gold Ticket] (DiraJr)
It seems that I was quite popular in the cosmic ROB dimension since I was starting to get used to these random gifts. Did they sometimes appear when I was trying to eat or piss? Yes, that still unsettled me. Spin 'em!
[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]
[Regeneration]
|Rare Ability|
Gives you a healing factor, your wounds close at speeds visible to the naked eye, and some wounds you sustain mid-fight may even close by the time the fight ends. You most likely won't die from any non-lethal wounds as long as you have energy. You can further speed up healing by expending energy.
This, paired with my Regenerator trait, would be the most useful combo after Lil'Nurgle and Rasaka's Fang. I looked forward to tanking blows that I really shouldn't. Next!
[Lightsaber]
|Rare Item|
Star Wars - A classic textbook lightsaber made from a Kyber Crystal that projects a blade of energy. No, you do not need force powers to use this one.
YES! PRAISE THE ROB'S! NO DOOR WILL EVER STOP ME AGAIN! NEZU'S CLANKERS BETTER COUNT THEIR FREAKING DAYS DUDE! AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Anyway.
I've made lots of progress these past few days. After I finally got down the details for Heresy-Pattern armor, I never took it off. At most, I would remove the helmet to eat, but other than showers and sleeping, I spent every waking moment armored head to toe.
I still struggled to figure out the smaller pieces needed to make a working bolter, but I'd figured out a bunch of other cool stuff. The chainsword was the first one I was able to make reliably.
It was a bit janky at first because not all the teeth on the blade were the same, but some more tweaking got it just right. I then went for the rest of the melee weapons. Power Sword, Power Axe, Thunder Hammer, and Combat Knife.
Since I was able to make most of those things, plus armor more reliably, I focused on the next set of cool armor and weapons. Mjolnir Amor was interesting since it was a bit more compact than Astartes armor.
I didn't let that stop me, though, and after two days I got it down. Like the Astartes armor, I wore it constantly, towering over everyone, even Shoji. It was great.
I then, of course, went after the melee weapons. I, of course, made the energy sword as fast as possible, before going for the energy dagger, building it into the armor. I then went for the Gravity Hammer, which was fun to play with, and an Energy Stave, the weapon of the Elite Honor Guards.
I also tried my hand at making the Promethean Knight's arm blade. It was pretty interesting to make, but it worked better with Astartes armor since I could mount it under an arm, just like the Prometheans.
I thought of tying my hand at Fallout Power armor, and its plethora of melee weapons, but we'd run out of time. I didn't really want Fallout Power Armor anyway. Yeah, it looked awesome, but compared to the agility of the Mjolnir and the bulkiness of Astartes armor, it lagged behind.
I also trained plenty with my new divinities. Shoto's eyes nearly popped out of his head when I used ice in front of him. Everyone was shocked, actually, as I flooded the entire gym while keeping them all encased safely in ice.
Sasha, Momo, Shoto, and Aizawa obviously hounded me to figure out how long I'd been able to do such a thing, but I refused to give them a straight answer. I had plenty of fun just messing with people.
Turns out a solid hit with a large quantity keeps Bakugo from being able to use his quirk. Dark Shadow did not like the cold brought by the ice at all. Midnight, for some reason, really wanted to get smothered by a large quantity of water, like, really wanted to. Concerning.
I tried not to get distracted very often, though, since I knew things would only be going downhill after we got our Provisional Licenses. Well, when they got theirs, since I was getting the full thing.
The HPSC had actually gotten in touch with me, finally. Other than making sure I wasn't going to suddenly attack them for some reason, they told me that I'd be taking my test the same day that the others did, just different.
I didn't really know what that meant, but with the HPSC, it could be something as simple as fighting all the top ten heroes together. Or it could be me vs Hawks, while Lady Nagant took pot shots at me.
I didn't really know to be honest, so I put my full back into training for the few days we had the teachers to help us. I also made sure to help everyone in my class who needed it, class president and all.
I actually spent most of my time with Shoto, Izuku, and Momo.
Shoto was easy, forcing him to use his fire so that I didn't freeze him solid. Turns out, when your life is on the line, you really don't care about personal vendettas with your father since you'd rather not be turned into a popsicle.
Izuku was marginally more difficult. When he wasn't trying to figure out how I now had several 'quirks,' he was busy trying to fight like All Might, the very reason his body was falling apart. I ended up having to tell him to his face.
"Hey man, you know how you look up to All Might and want to be like him?"
"Yes, I want to be just like him!"
"It's going to kill you. I'm sure you already know."
". . ." Izuku's guilty face told me everything I needed to know.
"So, not only are you being stubborn and refusing to listen to Recovery Girl and the doctors who've fixed your arms several times, you're doing it on purpose!"
"B-but,"
"No, I'm talking right now. I get having a role model, I do. You can't let that consume you, however, since in your case, it WILL kill you. You've already started to break away from it by using Full Cowl, but you still throw punches and kicks with that stupid all-or-nothing mentality.
So, here is what we're going to do. You've already figured out your ultimate move, right?"
"Yes, Full Cowl: Shoot Style."
"Great, we're not using that right now."
"Huh?"
"For the next two days, you're going to be stuck with me so that I can build up that body of yours." I snapped my finger, and a full suit of armor formed over Izuku. Not the usual bulky power Armor I usually sport, but definitely weight that he isn't used to.
"Hey, Aizawa!" I shouted to get his attention, "I'm fixing All Might's mess, ok?!" Aizawa glanced over at the tipped-over Izuku and shrugged. I took that as a divine mandate and made Izuku start running laps around the gym as I chased after him.
While doing that, I would give him a break every so often while checking in on Momo. She was ironically the one with the most complex quirk and the easiest fix.
"Make a flashbang." She flinched from how blunt I was. "What?" "You heard me, make a flashbang." She did, and I chucked it as Izuku, who started running again. After the flashbang went off and scared several people, I turned back to her.
"Make tons of those, they're really useful. Also, start figuring out how to defeat yourself, since you'll probably be the biggest target once we get to the exam." "What?" "Don't worry about it."
I spent the last two days just chasing after Izuku, forcing him to use more and more of OFA across his entire body. Every time he started picking up speed faster than a jog, I added more bulk to the armor.
It was a bit harsh, and Ochaco definitely gave me some angry looks, but it was for his own good. Izuku was admittedly not one of my favorite protags, but he could be better. Plus, my helping him would make him much stronger when he faced off against Tomura in the end, maybe he wouldn't lose his quirk like a fool this time.
