Chapter 5 - Limness Kingdom Arc Part 4

The Farmer is confused as to what Liatart is talking about, as such a thing feels more like a dream rather than something that actually came to the kingdom.

Liatart reached for his cloak. He grabbed all the coins he had left, gave them to the farmer, then walked closer to the farmer, grabbed his hand, opened his palm, and put the bag of coins in the farmer's palm.

The farmer is a little confuse and he can feel Liatart's hand shaking slightly as Liatart starts to hold the farmer's hand a little harder.

Liatart: Please, accept this bag of coins as I can't think of any other way to express my apologies

The Farmer: Huhnn. My cart and my vegetables are only worth a few silver coins; I can't accept it this much.

The Farmer tries to hand the bag of coins back to Liatart by pushing Liatart's hand back, but Liatart pushes back to his chest. Then he stands up and walks away, as the farmer is looking at him.

Liatart walks away without looking back.

He continued to walk without stopping as he was so deep into his thought that he suddenly bumped into someone, but Liatart didn't stop; he just kept on walking as the man he bumped into shouted for him to stop.

The farmer walked back, but once he looked at the coins, he noticed that there were over 20 silver coins.

The Farmer: It's my first see a bunch of silver coins at the same time,

The farmer thinks, then he takes out 5 silver coins and hides the rest in his cart under a bunch of vegetables.

Then he heads to the market, but before he enters, the farmer looks at the coins he got, he decides to look around, and notices someone he knows and calls his name.

The Farmer: Hey,

another Farmer: Oh, hey

The Farmer: How are you doing?

Another Farmer: Oh, I'm still here to sell my fruit

The Farmer looks at his cart, and he notices that the fruit is almost going bad.

Another Farmer: I haven't been able to find a buyer. I've been here since yesterday, and I can't return. So I have to sleep on a nearby street to the north side of the market. I don't know if I can bring anything back.

The farmer looks at his cart.

The Farmer: Then how about you take my vegetables, it helps you

Another Farmer: No, I can't do that, don't you also need those vegetables to sell to buy food at home

The farmer hesitates to answer it as he feels stuck.

The Farmer: Oh, no, no, I actually already have some leftovers at home, and I don't feel very well. I think I might collapse if I continue.

Another Farmer hesitates and looks at his friend with this feeling of guilt, but he accepts it, as he himself is also desperate.

Another Farmer: Alright, how much do I need to pay

The Farmer: Oh no, you don't need to

Another Farmer: Hun, what, you gonna return empty-handed? You have 3 children to feed

The Farmer: Look, I have just enough. Please help me out, I can't stand well right now.

Another Farmer: Alright, I'll take

The Farmer: Thanks, you good friend, I'll help you with it.

Another Farmer: You really didn't have to

After they had moved the vegetable, he left.

Another Farmer: If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask

The Farmer: Thank you.

The farmer walked back, then he went to a bunch of food stalls and bought a few pork slices, then he went to a well-known bakery,

The farmer looks around, and he doesn't see the owner anywhere.

The Farmer: Hello, is there anybody here

then a baker walk out, he said, " Welcome, " with a soft voice. Then, once he sees that he is a farmer, his expression drops.

The Baker: What do you want

The Farmer: I would like to buy some cream bread

The Baker looks at the farmer, then walks toward his cabinet, but before he opens the cabinet door, the farmer asks.

The Farmer: Can I see how many flavors you had?

The Baker: Are you going to buy it or not? I am not here all day, try to do what you like

The Farmer: No. I did not mean to. Then, please, anything is fine.

without asking how many the farmer wants, the baker grabs the cream bread with his bare hand and puts only one bread into the bag

The Farmer: I have a silver coin, please, I would like to buy this much

The baker suddenly become agreesive in his voice.

The baker: A silver coin? Did you steal from others or something? Explain yourself right now, or I'll report you to the guard.

The Farmer: No, no, no. I did not, I just happened to find a buy, and he was generous enough to be willing to pay me a silver coin for it.

The baker: What, who in the right mind would do that, open that cart of your I'm gonna report you, open it

Once the baker takes a look at the cart, he sees there are no vegetables left in it, but the baker is still suspicious.

The Baker walk back to the cabinet, and he grabs 4 more cream breads, and hand it to the farmer.

The Farmer: Wait, I suppose it had 8, but I only see 5?

The Baker: You want to say something,

The Baker looked at the farmer, the farmer felt powerless against him, then he gave the silver coin to the baker, but the baker just took the coins off his hand aggressively, disregarding the farmer's 64-year-old hand, and the baker is a 35-year-old man who can open his own bakery shop.

The Farmer grabs the bag and continues pushing his cart, has his hand shaken, and this slightly deep pain within him, the feeling of worthlessness, but then the farmer looks behind him at the baker, and a well-dressed man appears the moment he left the baker.

The farmer can hear what they are saying. The well-dressed man demands that the baker give him more options and asks how many kinds of bread he has, and the baker immediately runs to the back of his shop to show the options.

The farmer walked to the back gate to exit the capital and head home. The guard inspected his cart, then he talked to him in a quiet voice.

The Guard at the Back Gate: You did enter through the front gate, right?

The Farmer: Yes I did.

The Guard at the Back Gate: Did they say anything?

The Farmer: I give them as I told.

The Guard at the back gate: Good, you can pass

As the farmer walked, he got tire he find a nice spot to sit down, and he took out one of the pork he bought. For the first time in over 20 years, he was finally able to taste what pork tasted like again.

The reason he calls his 3 grandchildren his own children due to their chaotic behavior is like his son and his son's wife, an adult but with a chaotic child-like behavior that makes his elderly life feel alive, but his son died in the war while his daughter-in-law was kidnapped by an enemy soldier; despite the war have ended, she never returned home.

As the farmer is eating, his eyes tearing up, he is emotional; the smallest of things can be someone's greatest day. He stands up after one bite of the pork, it put it back, this time is not return with just bread, it returns with something special and extra for them.

Back in the capital, White Lappen is disguised as an ordinary person, as he wears a cloak to cover his body and face.

White looked around, and he saw a young man who seemed to be standing and waiting for someone to come out of the restaurant. Then, he took a quick look; the man that this young man was waiting for was a nobleman. Then, he took off his own clothes and walked to the inexperienced young man.

Then the white grab the young man's arm and talks to him quietly,

White: Hey, wear this cloth instead, and take off this old cloth of yours, you might get brutally beaten or killed for poor manners.

Then he walks away, before the young man can react to what is going on.

Then White walks into a quiet road and enters a carriage where Marcus is.

Marcus: How is it, Brother?

White: I didn't find anything. I think Mon Ukea has already noticed what we are doing. Let's head back for now.

Tomorrow morning, White arrives at his office in the Palace, and a few moments later, an assistant of Lord Yane arrives and hands White a document of request.

White asks him, "What is this?"

The assistance explains that it is a request to relocate the people in a small village near Lake Delen to elsewhere.

and the assistance also mentions that it a urgent matter that needs Nobleman white to deliver to King Geithner Lappen right away

White : I'm relocating. Why was I not consulted first before making this kind of request? Have these people lost their minds and don't care or respect the process anymore

The Assistance: I am sorry, my lord, but I can only do as I told

White: Tell Lord Yane that I will not approve this until he comes to meet me and explains himself

The Assistance: Yes, I understand, My Lord

Meanwhile, on the west side of the Palace, Lord Yane is currently having a conversation with the Ambassador of the Maleverlem Empire, Mon Ukea.

Ukea: I am glad to hear that you are processing the proposal so quickly. You are the man I can rely on

Lord Yane: It is my pleasure to assist a friend,

Ukea: I will also make sure that the reward will be delivered very handsomely

Yane felt this excitement, but he tried to control his face from smiling while keeping a calm and welcoming face.

Lord Yane: Oh, no. Don't need to trouble yourself.

Ukea: If you want, I can also help put in a good word for you to have an opportunity to be one of their shareholder

Then suddenly, the assistant entered the room, he walked toward Lord Yane and told him to his earn with let Mon Ukea could hear it.

Mon Ukea sees Lord Yane's eyebrow twitch,

Ukea: I am confident that everything is going smoothly. Isn't that right, Lord Yane?

Lord Yane felt slightly hesitant,

Lord Yane: It is indeed, and also, it seems that the proposal just got approved by the King. I believe the permit can be processed now.

Mon Ukea smiles slightly.

Ukea: Brilliant news

Ukea stand up

Ukea: I am looking forward to our future,

Mon Ukea left

Then Lord Yane, look at his assistance.

Lord Yane: Look after my office, do not let anyone else enter.

The Assistance: Yes, My Lord

Nobleman Yane Maefen walked to his brother's office, Nobleman Erefeild Maefen.

He entered Lord Erefeild's office.

Lord Yane: Brother?

Lord Erefeild: What do you want now?

Lord Yane: We just got a request about a company wanted to move into our country, but we have an issue due to the people who live there. The company is struggling to operate smoothly.

Lord Erefeild: Under whom exactly?

Lord Yane: It Mon Ukea,

Erefeild paused and looked at Yane, as he grew annoyed and irritated.

Lord Erefeild: Listen here, Yane, just because you are my brother, you can do whatever you want

Lord Yane: But it will benefit our family,

Lord Erefeild: Does it look like I care? Can a diamond and gold give our family power? I teach you better than that.

Yane Maefen felt the pressure from his brother yelling at him. Yane is now deperate try to get himself out of this.

Lord Yane: It's actually Duke Alexander, who actually requested it

Lord Erefeild: Duke Alexander? If it really is him, he would have to come to me. Why would he order Mon Ukea to do it?

Lord Yane: Mon Ukea did mention that Duke Alexander is incredibly busy, so he entrusted this task to Mon Ukea to navigate it with me

Erefeild looked at his brother for a few minutes before answering.

Lord Erefeild: Find, what about the proposal?

Lord Yane: I already sent it to White, but he refuses to process it to the King

Lord Erefeild: Forget about the king, start working on the permit, and inform Duke Alexander that everything is going just fine

A week later. In the village near Lake Delen, everyone sees a bunch of soldiers coming to the village.

The Villager: What is going on?

Then, a 21-year-old army commander arrives, shouting loudly.

The Army Commander: Attention to all residents within this village, I am here to announce that this entire area is no long indivioudly own, it is now the property of the kingdom, and I am here to demand that all of you will be leaving this area as soon as possible.
