"Sonya?" Ray called out softly, voice still a little raspy from the surprise.
Sonya set her shopping bags down and walked straight over. She looked kinda annoyed, but her eyes stayed warm.
"Why didn't you tell me you were moving out, Ray? I only found out from Karl this morning. You really thought I wouldn't know?"
Ray opened his mouth but didn't get the chance to answer. Karl, still standing by the door with the last box in his hands, just grinned.
"I'll go load these in the car real quick so you two can talk," he said, already heading out. "Ray, I'll be waiting downstairs."
Ray just nodded. Once Karl disappeared, he turned back to Sonya, looking awkward as hell.
"You… not working today?"
Sonya sighed. "Gym's closed again. Something with the electricity. So I got the day off." She gave him a worried look. "But seriously, Ray… you're actually moving? Without saying anything to me?"
