Chapter 140 - Friday

The next day…

The clock struck 6. Dawn had long eclipsed the horizon. The greenery of the neighborhood flourished under the light of day as the residents woke up. Isabella yawned, waking up. She left her bed in her pajamas and headed to the bathroom. She arrived and closed the door behind her.

After a few minutes, she exited and waiting for her outside was her boyfriend.

"Good morning." Dante groaned.

"Good morning." Isabella nodded lazily.

She passed him and went towards her room. Dante shut the bathroom door as Missio halted near it. She opened her closet and took out a set of clothes. She put on a dark cyan shirt and black pants. She exited her room and descended the stairs. She hummed while heading to the kitchen, planning to make breakfast.

Dante stepped onto the ground floor and with Missio. He adjusted his glasses, glancing around the place. Then, he plopped down on the couch and sighed. As Missio sat beside him, he pulled out his phone and dialed someone. Immediately, the call picked up and from the other side a man spoke.

"John, how's the progress on the order to scan the government?"

"It's going well. All justices have agreed but we have to wait for a new lieutenant general to be elected from the black ops division before we do anything."

"What have the Board of cross-department coordination done during this time?" Dante asked.

"They're currently picking a new Prime Minister. When should we conduct the elections?" the man replied.

"Early March. Within the first two weeks." Dante said. "Also, inform the other Justices that I'll be working remotely for a while."

"What? Why, sir?" The man blurted.

"Eh… It's a bit of a personal family problem but don't worry, I'll still be working."

"…If you say so sir."

"Good. I'll catch you later."

Dante cut the call and tucked the phone into his pocket. He glanced at his little brother who was scrolling social media. Just then, he received a facetime call for a certain someone. Missio hesitated for a moment before picking up. The next moment, a loud screech shot through the house.

"MISSIO! WHY THE FUCK DID I GET A FIRED NOTICE FROM THE GENERAL?!" Krishna screamed.

Missio flinched. "Well… my brother fired us."

"WHYYYYY???!!!" Krishna shook his phone, blurring his image.

Dante clicked his tongue and leaned over Missio shoulder.

"Calm down, dude. We at another place."

Krishna halted for a moment, drawing sharp breaths.

"You! Why did fire me?!"

"You know why. You were facing massive controversy for being a chaos incarnate within the black ops. I had a lotta pressure from people telling me to fire you and Missio." Dante replied.

"How am I going to pay my bills?! The rent?! My gym membership at plant fitness?! Oh… I'm fucked…" Krishna despaired.

"God Dammit. I'll fund your lifestyle or whatever just stop complaining."

In that very instant, Krishna lips curled back as he shut his mouth.

"Please accept my sincerest apologies. Your kindness has blessed me, sire. Might I say your hair looks rather regal today?"

Krishna's comments made Dante burst out laughing. He drew a sharp breath.

"No – no, shut it" He contained his laughter. "But I also wanted to tell you something."

Krishna raised a brow. "Go on, sir."

Dante raised one finger. "Until September, I'm going to train Missio and help him recover. You, too must train your heart out."

"Why, my lord?" Krishna blurted.

"The plan is for you two to joining the Apex forces."

Krishna clicked his tongue. "But that'll be… quite hard."

"Of course." Dante stated. "I already gave the order for you to be transferred to the special ops. Try not to die."

"What about Missio?"

Dante lifted his head, looking at his brother.

"I'll train him." He smiled.

"No fair! Why do I have to risk my life when he's just chilling?" Krishna pouted.

"I beg your pardon. He's needs therapy." Dante's glasses fell a bit.

"Fine – fine." Krishna sighed. "So, when is my katana and outfit coming?"

"It'll arrive by today." Dante replied, leaning back.

"Cool." Krishna gave a thumbs up. "I'll catch ya later, Missio."

"Yeah… catch you later."

The facetime ended. Missio placed his phone on the couch and sighed. Before, he could think anything about the call, Isabella's voice rang out from behind.

"Okay, babe. I'm off."

Dante spun his head to the side. "Okay. Have a good day."

Isabella put on her high-heels. She clicked them against the floor. She pushed the entrance open and moved towards the garage. He garage opened and she ducked under as the lights automatically activated. She entered a small smart car and slammed the door shut. She scanned her retina on the main panel. The car recognized her and opened the car. She reversed, avoiding the RV by inches.

Then, she spun around and passed the gate the gates closed behind her as she drove off. Humming a melody, she calmly drove through out of her neighborhood. After a few minutes, she parked near a colorful building. She stepped out, her heels clicking against the concrete. The car locked behind her. The doors automatically opened as she entered.

"Good morning, Mrs. Isabella." A voice stated.

Isabella rotated her head, seeing another woman dressed in the same manner as her.

"Good morning, Ms.! How are you today?" Isabella approached with a smile.

"I'm fine. Arrived a few minutes ago." The girl stated, walking ahead. "Let's talk while walking, class is about to start."

"Are the kids getting along well with the new enrollments?" Isabella asked, catching upto her.

"Of course." The girl chuckled. "But other than that, you saw that the PM got imprisoned? What's going to happen to the nation now? I'm so worried."

Isabella tilted her head. "Uh… Dunno but it shouldn't be that big."

The woman locked eyes with Isabella with a sly smile.

"Oh? Is that what your boyfriend is saying?"

Isabella blushed. "Yeah… but come one you don't have to bring him in…"

"Oh, Isabella..." The other teacher laughed. "Don't worry I'm not going to tease you or anything but you're lucky to have a partner like that."
