I had to lure her closer. Her excuses had no meaning to me, they were pointless. Baseless. She had done what she had done, risked the safety of my pack and broken the trust I thought we had together.
Elara hesitated to move an inch. Fear flickered in her eyes. For the first time, I could tell she was scared of me. She despised what I looked like, the dark corners of the room, the heavy chain on my wrist, the electric cuffs, my biology. She hated all of me.
"Aren't you gonna come closer?" I thundered. "Are you scared of me? Do you hate me? Do I disgust you?"
"No, no. I don't hate you." She flashed her hands.
"Then why won't you come closer? Why won't you stand before me?"
She went mute and crossed her arms as she broke eye contact with me. "I can't. You are not in the right sense to…"
