Kelvin's POV
The heavy silence of the master chambers pressed against my temples like a physical weight.
It had been quite some time since the night I made the pact in the shadows, and I hadn't received a single shred of news from Enoch regarding the assassination of my older brother.
Any other leader would have grown anxious. Any other man would suspect betrayal. But I didn't doubt him for a single second. I fully trusted Enoch. He was a shadow, a lethal weapon who never failed a hunt, and his silence only meant he was playing the long game, waiting for the perfect moment to slide a silver blade through the Lycan king's throat.
A sharp, rhythmic knock rattled the heavy oak door of the chamber, shattering my thoughts.
"Alpha Kevin," a female voice called out from the hallway, her tone laced with a nervous tremor. "The sun is reaching its peak. The council and the pack members are gathered in the central square. It is time for you to address the people."
