Elera's POV
"How did you get in here?" I asked, my voice shaking as I gripped my keys tightly in my palm. My eyes darted from his relaxed posture straight to the front door behind me. "I locked that door. I know I locked it."
Enoch didn't even look up from his drink. He simply raised his glass toward the hallway, pointing casually with his chin. "Your door was open, human. You should really be more careful about who you let trail you to your porch. A simple lock cannot keep out a real hunter anyway."
"Don't ever do something like that again," I snapped, my heart still hammering against my ribs from the scare. I didn't believe him for a second, but I didn't have the energy to argue about lock-picking or whatever supernatural trick he had used. I was exhausted from the long day at the lab and the awful fight with Marcus downstairs. My whole body felt weak.
