Chapter 8 - Welcome to Sodom

BAM!

"Urghh ouchh" I painfully moaned out loud. The pain of falling was actually milder than I thought, especially from that height. Sure all my bones are broken and even that mouth isn't talking shit.

To think I've been traumatized so bad, I think I have phonophobia. It hurts but if I'm classifying this pain this is the best and most manageable one. I laughed a bit outwardly in a sort off mixed emotion. I was happy I could feel pain again in a way, sad also of my constantly changing state.

Every single structure in my body has been turn to mush, plus the evaporation phenomena is happening at a faster rate. I needed to still move, the storms has already shifted the topography of the desert to something of a plain.

So here was the first problem, I don't know where the fucking I am.

TWO!!

I can't even investigate where the fuck I am. I can only just stay here and hope I'm not alone and someone will find me. I fear this evaporation thingy is going to do something to me, seemingly worse than death. The same feeling I got at the 'LUMIAN TOWER', the feeling that I'm going to be trapped. I'll so much prefer to die right now than to be trapped in a place or by someone for the gods know how long.

Then again I ask myself why is there no will to live. No will or zeal to overcome all odds and escape.

"Escape?" Dancing the peculiar word in my mouth. Nothing strange tho, but for me I've learnt to always keep my expectations at the minimal at all times. People expect something grand always, they pray to God, god's or any entity, hoping for their prayers to be answered.

I've never gotten an answered prayer, which not to put logic inside is sort of normal. But even the 'normal' has primarily eluded me throughout my life. I'm used to worse possible option always happening. Always getting the short end of stick. Yeah sure I used to hate it, buh this last few years, that has been my normal. Because I know it could always get worse.

Yes call me hopeless, but was there anything to ever hope on? We mortals always hoping the gods like they in their own zone pick a moment out of their precious time to answer a single mortal. Wishing for what exactly?

A father's love?

Recognition?

A mother's love and presence?

Love?

True friends?

All this stuff, a great god will come out of their shrine to answer the stupid prayer of a five year old delusioned fool, I thought with mirth. Of all the perfect beautiful elves in Evore, all the humans and every species on Earth, why would even a single prayer of mine be answered? Off everyone on Earth, I don't think I'll be the last considered infact.

Self depreciating thoughts continued to cloud my mind. I didn't want to stop it, it wasn't as if it was wrong.

I slowly started feeling myself sinking in the sand. But honestly didn't think the suffocation would be enough to kill me.

'SQUEK-SQUEK'

I slowly turned toward the sound coming from next to me. I turned towards my right to see nothing but sandy plains and dunes plus the endless streaks of stars. You could almost get get lost in the picture it painted.

Almost like a horizon, the neon dark sky painted with countless stars, colorful gases, moving stars, rocks floating endlessly all against the desert sand. That still was it's color, not affected by the night sky oddly.

Strange but beautiful..

The sun's, eight of them. Arranged in a strange star shaped hexagon. Weirdly something that was supposed to give light and life, was the only dissonant thing in sky.

"Like a sigil" I whispered.

My original nonchalant behavior to where I was suddenly changed. For the first time I felt compelled to do something. Compelled to learn about everything that happened within this period of time.

My sense of time has been mangled. Since the red sky to now I don't know how long it took. From the eternity it took crawling to the eye, and the eternity it took crawling out of the eye. Plus the time I'm spending in the desert, everything feels like a blur at the same time it looks like I've spent an eternity here.

"Oww owww"

I felt felt something small dragging my face.

"Stop, stop, stop.

Get off my face!!

Off my face!

Will you stop!"

'Squek squek'

The little rat was still dragging my face. The tentacles from my eye and head as if responding to my irritation, dragged the weird rat-like creature off my face.

So I can influence more so control this tentacles?

I raised my head to still see the runt back on head. Looking at me with it's big blue bright eyes. Like child curious about everything, my guard in a way came down a little. My irritation at the little critter disappeared too. It looked sort off like Ella's pet, I smiled remembering her.

"What was the name of the animal again?" I pondered.

"Ohh a hamster right?"

'Squek squek'

"Not a hamster?"

'SQUEK-SQUEK!!'

"Okay okay hamster."

It bent it's head looking at me curiously, as if wondering how anything could be so ugly. I looked at it also with the same curiosity. I've never seen such a specie of hamster before. Well it was as big as my head, very furry too, like a ball. It's furs too where spiky and the strangest thing was the electric current running through the spiky ends of it's fur and it's big bright blue. Plus the desert color of its fur, and the two weird tentacles on it's head.

I've seen alot of divine animals and creatures of benin on my world. So it didn't come as a shock to see such a strange animal.

'SQUEK-SQUEK'

'SQUEK-SQUEK'

It looked at me, then turn east as if leading me somewhere. I looked towards the rat..

'SQUEK-SQUEK-SQUEK-SQUEK!!!!'

It got close to my face, squeaking angrily. Like it could hear my inner thoughts, I looked at it with a smile on my face. Kinda wished I could carry it with, not so much that it reminded me of her, buh it was so freaking cute and intelligent also. The thought of kidnapping it as my pet passed through my mind.

It kept urging me to follow it in hurry, buh I was already more than half immersed in the sand. Upon that I couldn't even move a muscle. It got esperated in waiting for me to follow. The little vermin ran back to me with it's little legs, and started squeaking angrily in my face.

"So cute hehehe" I thought with child-like curiosity.

The limerance.

Back when I could be happy, when I could actually look forward to something. The vermin saw the dazed stupid look on my face and gave up squeaking. It went to my head and bit the biggest tentacle from my head. Thinking it was just biting me to express anger.

Vermin started dragging me out of the sinking sand. I probably weigh about two war horses..

Too carry me so effortlessly, so it's actually a divine animal.

BAM-BAM-BAM

The skies blurred into streaks of whites. Blue lighting streaked all round, surrounding a cone-shaped vacuum that formed. Wind no longer roared, it became a crushing wall pressing against every inch of my body. By the time Vermin stopped and dropped him down, the boom of it's own passage echoed from miles behind both them. I could barely hear anything now, I looked behind myself as if to judge how we moved this far. Streaks of burnt marks and glass in a never ending line marred the desert floor. I looked back at vermin in shock. I couldn't explain what the fuck just happened. How can a rat move faster than my own demi-god father? The sound of footsteps behind woke me up from my present reality. I could already turn the best I could. I could only wait for the person to come to my front.

A man, tall..

Too tall, about the height of two men.

I looked at the lone man, wearing a pure silver bisht, that shimmered under the stars in an almost unreal way. His silver robes drifted in the wind like pale banners. The stars seemed to pay their homage to him, by dimming their brightness making his neon silver eyes shine brighter. I couldn't see his facial features due to his imamah covering his face. Leaving only his eyes to be seen. There was this strange aura of death and familiarity on him, also the same wrong aura I felt in Evore before I got here. The figure pulled down the part of the imamah that covered his mouth.

"Hello Adonis." He smiled with the most breathtaking smile ever, showing his pearly white teeth.

"Uhhh hello." I stuttered.

He started walking with his back facing me, he the pointed towards a hill to the farther east. The was a grand city below it, with a striking resemblance to the dijin city of my world.

He then completely removed his headwear and turn to his side, looking at me.

Looking very very much pretentious, especially the way he spread his hands.

"Welcome to Sodom!" He said mockingly.

Maybe he wanted a bigger reaction but from the name.

Too bad I was stuck on the surprising face reveal.
