The meeting was finally concluded everyone knew what they had to do to prepare for the upcoming war.
Intelligence and Analytics was already deep within the subterranean laboratories, tasked with engineering a completely redesigned force field for the border which wouldn't allow any zethrians to enter again.
Simultaneously, the Border Enforcers were mobilizing their massive carrier ships, establishing a relentless, twenty-four-seven tactical patrol blue patterns.around the border.
DOCK VON OFFICE:
Dock Von stood behind his massive oak desk, his hands resting heavily on the surface as he let out a long, shuddering breath. "There is simply too much happening at once," he muttered, his gray eyes fixed on the panoramic view of the glowing skyline outside. "The Flare bloodline erased in hours, an alien princess in our custody, and a moving planet coming to wipe us out, I have to make sure no one—and nothing—gets out of control."
"Yeah, you're right," Zane replied smoothly, leaning back against the leather sofa with his hands casually stuffed into his pockets. A faint, unreadable smirk sat on his face. "But that's exactly why we believe in you, old man. And that's why we trust your decisions."
Dock Von turned around slowly, his sharp gaze shifting from Zane down toward the two younger fighters standing beside him. "I take it these are your biological brothers."
"Yeah, they are," Zane said, gesturing slightly with his chin toward Tyson and Elias.
Elias blinked, his silver eyes widening into blank surprise as his arms uncrossed. "Wait... he already knows about us? He knows our history?"
"Of course he does," Zane chuckled softly, running a hand through his hair. " He's the one who saved my life after all. I don't keep secrets from the man who patched my soul back together."
Elias looked at Dock Von's battle-worn face, a sudden wave of understanding washing over him. "Well... I guess it does make complete sense then."
"Ok, I know this is an incredibly sudden change of subject," Elias said, his expression snapping back into intense focus as he stepped toward the center of the office. He turned his gaze toward Princexx, who stood quietly near the doorway, her jade-green antennae lowered in respect. "But Princexx... just how big is this moving planet? We keep talking about a traveling fortress, but what are we actually dealing with?"
The moment the question left Elias's mouth, the temperature in the room felt like it dropped. The easygoing atmosphere evaporated instantly.
Dock Von's old eyes narrowed into sharp, dangerous slits as he leaned over the desk, his attention locking entirely onto the alien royal. "Elias is right. Give us the exact structural geometry. How big is it?"
"Damn... I didn't even think of that," Tyson muttered, rubbing the back of his neck.
Princexx took a deep, breath "It is... gigantic," Princexx whispered, her lips trembling slightly . "To put it into terms your human minds can visualize... your Sun would look like nothing more than a tiny insect compared to its total mass. And your entire world, this Earth, is nothing but a microscopic parasite compared to its circumference."
The silence that followed was absolute.
Dock Von's jaw tightened so hard the bone clicked. His hand shook slightly against the edge of his desk. "How can something that big exits?".
"Yeah, I agree," Zane replied,.
Tyson let out a sharp, dry laugh. "Well... things just keep getting more and more interesting, don't they?".
"How do we destroy it?"Elias asked,as he began to think of a way to do so .
The question hit the room like a physical shockwave.
"We don't," Princexx said flatly, looking directly into Elias's eyes with absolute certainty. "You cannot destroy a structure of that magnitude with raw physical force. It's not possible. There is only one solution: we must infiltrate the planet, eliminate the controller, and take control of the planet ourselves."
A few hours later,
Elias arrived at the 10th division, drakye void already explained the situation to the entire 10th.
Elias pushed the heavy electronic doors of the base, the metallic hiss echoing off the walls. "Hi guys," he said, stepping onto the carpet.
The scene inside was pure, unadulterated 10th Division chaos.
Vela was sitting sideways on one of the large leather armchairs, her knees pulled completely to her chest. Her bright uniform was slightly disheveled, and loud, dramatic tears were streaming down her face as she sniffled loudly, wiping her nose with her sleeve.
Elias stopped in his tracks, blinking in pure confusion. "Em... Vela? Are you actually crying?"
"Of course I'm crying, you idiot!" Vela wailed, throwing her hands into the air dramatically before slamming them back onto her knees. "Why can't we just have one whole year without doing anything?! Just peace! No aliens, no world-ending mutants, no giant moving rocks! Why does the entire universe hate peace so much?!"
Drakye Void sat in the shadows of the corner armchair, as he thought to himself "And to think she casually eliminated the Prime Minister of the Border just a while ago,' Drakye thought to himself, a faint, dry irony settling into his mind. 'Yeah... I'm definitely starting to have my doubts ".
"Well, that's just Vela for you," Cipher sighed, leaning against the kitchen counter as he adjusted his tactical visor. He took a slow sip from a protein shaker, entirely unfazed by the screaming. "She can act tuff and all , but the moment her scheduled vacation gets canceled by a cosmic apocalypse, she turns into a toddler."
"Hey! Shut up, Cipher!" Vela snapped, throwing a decorative couch pillow directly at his face, which he casually swerved to avoid.
"She has a valid point, though," Rook grunted from the corner, "I mean we never get to enjoy, peace and quiet there's always a world ending threat ".
"We are xenocides after all, there isn't such thing as peace in our world" renji replied, as he walked into the room.
"Yup, renji is kinda right," Mikasa muttered smoothly, sitting on the edge of the long table.
"Isn't that right Elias ".
"Yeah I guess so ," Elias said, rubbing the back of his neck with a small grin.
Across the room, Nyx sat entirely stiff on the edge of the opposite sofa, her hands clasped tightly in her lap. The moment Elias had walked through the door, her entire face had flushed a deep, vibrant pink. she instantly looked down at the carpet, her breathing hitching as Sloane's advice about "human emotions" echoed in her brain. She wanted to say something, but her throat felt completely paralyzed.
Sloane noticed her panic immediately. Sitting right next to Nyx, Sloane let out a loud, teasing giggle, nudging Nyx aggressively with her elbow. "See, Nyx? He's back in one piece. No need to teleport to the roof this time. Go on, tell him welcome home."
"S-Sloane, please stop," Nyx whispered in a tiny, panicked voice, her face turning an even darker shade of crimson as she buried her face in her hands.
Sloane smiled "omg NYX I can't say I'm not enjoying this, after everything you've put me through, this is the perfect revenge."
Kealen sat on the smaller couch near the window, his gaze fixed on the floor. He was quiet, the silver hairpin of his mother safely tucked away inside his inner breast pocket.
He looked up at Elias, his voice steady but carrying a deep sincerity. "Did Dock Von say anything about... who did it? To the Flares?"
Elias looked at Kealen, keeping his voice gentle. "They know it was a hybrid, Kealen. A Zethrian-human mix. But they don't have a name yet."
Kealen nodded slowly, his eyes dropping back to his hands.
"A hybrid assassin, a moving fortress, and a rogue general," Jaxen muttered, leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed, his eyes scanning the entire fractured squad. "It sounds like the perfect recipe for a total massacre.
