Today marked a turning point.
They had entered the Holy Continent — the last surviving land of gods.
The Land of Varis.
The grand hall was alive with celebration. Nobles laughed, drank, and danced as the King spoke of greatness, destiny, and the rise of the "I-Realm."
To them, it was glory.
To Samuel—
It was noise.
He stood at the edge of the hall, silent, observing everything. Every smile, every gesture, every hidden intention.
Nothing escaped his eyes.
Then—
The atmosphere shifted.
A woman entered.
Elegant. Composed. Untouchable.
Whispers followed her presence.
"Lady Sterra…"
"She owns half of Valdris…"
"A saint among nobles…"
Samuel's gaze locked onto her.
Not admiration.
Not curiosity.
Something deeper.
Her violet hair shimmered under the golden lights. Her emerald eyes were calm—too calm.
Around her neck rested a strange necklace.
Ancient.
Encrypted.
If one could read it—
Fortune Favours the Brave.
Samuel narrowed his eyes slightly.
"…interesting."
He stepped forward.
"Lady Sterra," Samuel said calmly,
"have you heard the phrase—
'Fortune favours the brave."
She paused.
Only briefly.
Then smiled.
"No… I haven't, Your Royal Highness. But why do you ask?"
Samuel tilted his head slightly.
"Drop the formalities."
A moment of silence passed.
Then—
"…Goddess of Fortune."
Her expression faltered.
Just for an instant.
Samuel stepped closer.
"Or… whatever name you go by now."
Her gaze sharpened.
And suddenly—
Everything stopped.
Sound vanished. Movement froze.
Time itself stood still.
Only two remained.
Sterra… and Samuel.
She stepped forward slowly.
"You shouldn't know that," she said quietly.
Samuel met her gaze.
"There are many things I shouldn't know."
Silence.
Heavy. Pressing.
For the first time in years—
Sterra felt something she couldn't control.
Uncertainty.
Her instincts… her fortune…
They weren't working.
And the reason stood right before her.
"…who are you?" she asked.
Samuel didn't answer.
He simply looked at her—
Calm.
Unbothered.
As if he had already seen everything.
The world resumed.
Music returned. Laughter echoed.
As if nothing had happened.
But something had.
Samuel turned away, blending back into the crowd.
But his thoughts lingered.
"This world… hasn't changed."
For a brief moment—
The system flickered.
A glitch but it was small but noticable.
Samuel noticed.
Of course he did.
Behind him, Sterra stood still.
Watching.
Thinking.
"Why does he feel… wrong?"
For the first time—
Her instincts had failed her.
At the church, the royal family stood in prayer.
Samuel stood among them.
Expression calm.
Mind restless.
"Just because they were first… they call themselves gods?"
A faint smile crossed his face.
After the prayer, King Neft distributed food and toys to orphan children.
Laughter filled the space.
A peaceful scene.
Warm.
Hopeful.
But Samuel knew—
Peace in this world never lasted.
And deep within him, a thought surfaced:
"This world… was never meant to become like this."
He said nothing more.
Not yet.
Because the first event—
Was about to begin.
So my greatest problem is butterfly effect but it will cause trouble if I show off my abilities around, and a protagonist who shows off his skills isn't a protagonist ( Some of Samuel's Childish Fantasies)
The limits ahead of me are the one I have to overcome by pure hardwork. The thing is I was one of those fired up gamers who hated abilities and preferred techniques and pure skills.
Yes I was an idiot.
only if I had known that I would've been reborn I would've added more hidden skills and less techniques in my game for me, but I created a game perfectly balanced by special abilities and pure techniques and skills like martial arts and sword styles.
The past is past so aside that I have to master the remaining seven of the eight variantas of soul Fragments, but only five of the soul fragment variants are known to this world's civilization. I got to train but the question is how I just made it like use gold and upgrade. The system says to itself "This guy has got some serious mental issues why is he crying looking at gold?" But in reality Samuel was feeling like an idiot because he has gold but he didn't has gold in system to upgrade and as he's restricted to use admin authorities he can't create events which is 1/4th of the authority until
he wins first event which is occurring after three months.
Hmm so I have to use normie way and do the some murim stuff like meditation. Guess I have no choice now I have to meditate first to enhance the quality and quality of my soul fragments at the same time.
Samuel sits on his room telling his servants beforehand and of course they were surprised that what is he goona do 14 days without food or water alone in his room. Soon enough the word of him spread into the castle and thus his training begun.
As the word of Samuel training in his room spread it didn't took long enough for the King Neft to take notice of the matter. Normally he would've ignored the commotion but this time it was about Samuel it was an exception, but if the king directly went to him it would create another rumor although that wasn't the problem but king still chose to overlook the matter and let him be.
In the Samuel's palace he was meditating and strengthening
his soul and increasing soul fragments. Days passed but Samuel was still meditating. Still. Without any water or food the exhaustation was clearly showing on his face he was deeply concentrated. His body was shaking in exhaustion but his core remained still to it's roots he continued this mentally and physically exhausting training method for days.
Finally the 14th day arrived. A calm breeze of wind flew over Samuel's face his core started to shake but he still remained in same position sand didn't flinch and then the Sun started to set, the evening approached mighty skies and sun begun to fade away as the sun was setting, Samuel regained his composure he was more stable, more concentrated, and more steady and focused than before.
At the King's study room he called both Aldric and Silia, as they were clueless they were also afraid. They both were thoinking the same thing "What is this "Old Bastard" thinking. They both arrived at the King's study room they entered the room. As Aldric took one step into the room The King Casually looked at them but that look was more than enough to terrify them at first sight. Then the king said "Take a seat we have something to discuss."
