Chapter 52 - The Seven-Colored Lizard of Dreams

After resolving the issues with the Dragon Duke and Snake Granny, Yu Xiaowei was in high spirits.

Just as he had guessed, the Meng family didn't have a powerful backer, and faced with the generous terms from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, they were unlikely to object.

Sure enough, Meng Shu agreed almost without hesitation.

Yu Xiaowei had already informed Yu Xiaomeng about absorbing the Meng family when obtaining the Papal Decree, and had written a personal letter for him to deliver to Yu Yuanzhen. The terms

promised to Meng Shu might differ slightly, but overall would be within the Meng family's acceptable range.

Faced with a vassal family that was practically a titled vassal family, Yu Yuanzhen wouldn't be stingy with his family resources.

With this major matter settled, a huge weight was lifted from Yu Xiaowei's heart.

  After a comfortable night's sleep,

Yu Xiaowei noticed something was wrong with his body.

Unbeknownst to him, his soul power had leveled up.

"Huh, I didn't cultivate last night, and I didn't feel the urge to break through my bottleneck, so how did I level up?"

Yu Xiaowei was also somewhat surprised. He repeatedly sensed his soul power and confirmed that he had indeed reached level 40.

"Could this Ice-Fire Grass have a counter-force effect?"

After eating the Ice-Fire Grass at the Ice-Fire Yin-Yang Well that day, although his soul power hadn't leveled up, his body had still undergone some changes.

For example, now that his martial soul was possessed, his scales were no longer pure black, but had a ring of crystal blue around the edges, and they felt slightly cool to the touch.

The wisps of flame that were originally attached to his scales had also expanded. If it weren't for the fact that he didn't feel anything unusual in his body, from the outside, he would have thought he had transformed into the Crimson Lotus form.

The biggest change was his breath. Whether it was white-hot light or radiating heat rays, the temperature was much higher, and it was also surrounded by a layer of crystal blue, cold flames. When the breath hit its target, the clash between hot and cold would cause a violent explosion.

More importantly, while he had become thinner, his strength had increased.

His original strength was already terrifying; back in the academy, after beating up Tailong, he had arm-wrestled with Taino, who had come looking for trouble, and had broken Taino

  's wrist .

When he beat up Dai Mubai, Dai Mubai collapsed without him even exerting force.

He estimated that, without considering soul skills and soul power, he could now easily defeat a Soul King based solely on his strength.

Yu Xiaowei's original plan was to return to Soto City to wait for Yu Xiaogang after persuading the Dragon Duke and Snake Granny.

Unexpectedly, he had suddenly advanced to level 40. Fortunately, the Star Dou Great Forest was not far away, so he could retrieve his soul ring along the way without delaying anything.

Before leaving, he went to find the Dragon Duke and Snake Granny, only to be told that the three of them had already left early that morning.

Helpless, he had to go to the Star Dou Great Forest himself.

For Yu Xiaowei, who regularly circled Tiandou City, the journey of over a hundred kilometers was nothing; he arrived by noon.

His original goal for a level 40 spirit ring was a spirit beast at least ten thousand years old.

However, after consuming the Qirong Tongtian Chrysanthemum and the two Ice-Fire Grasses, significantly improving his physical abilities, he felt that a twenty-thousand-year spirit ring wasn't impossible.

Normally, a twenty-thousand-year spirit ring should only be absorbed by a Spirit Emperor.

However, a twenty-thousand-year spirit beast seemed equivalent to a high-level Spirit King to a Spirit Emperor, and he wasn't sure if he could handle it.

Like the Sunset Forest, the stronger the spirit beast, the closer it lived to the center of the Star Dou Great Forest.

Worried about getting lost, Yu Xiaowei didn't turn or wander aimlessly, but instead traversed a straight line.

This time, he was still looking for fire-attribute or strength-type spirit beasts.

If he could find a spirit beast like a ten-thousand-year-old Titan Giant Ape, that would be even better.

As Yu Xiaowei ventured deeper into the forest, the trees became increasingly lush.

He didn't know where the dividing line between ten-thousand-year-old and thousand-year-old soul beasts was, only knowing to keep moving forward.

Unlike when he was with Ning Rongrong in Sunset Forest, this time he didn't suppress his Godzilla aura.

The reason for this was that ten-thousand-year-old soul beasts had developed an extremely strong sense of territory, and to them, any external aura, especially the aura of a ferocious monster like Godzilla, was nothing short of an open provocation.

After traveling at full speed for about an hour,

Yu Xiaowei stopped. After a moment of hesitation, his eyes flickered, and he looked to his left at a towering tree where a peculiar reptilian soul beast was hiding.

Its body was cylindrical, with a triangular head and a pair of protruding eyes that constantly darted around. Its long tail was curled up, and its back was covered in sharp spikes.

The colors of the spirit beast had blended seamlessly with the trees beneath its feet; had Yu Xiaowei not possessed the Godzilla spirit and had an innate sensitivity to the aura of strange beasts, he probably wouldn't have noticed it. This was

the Illusionary Seven-Colored Lizard, a dragon species. Its spikes were highly venomous, and its body color constantly changed with its environment. It was adept at using mental power to attack enemies.

This particular seven-colored lizard had twelve rings on its scales, indicating it was a twelve-thousand-year-old spirit beast.

In the records of the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex clan, this type of spirit beast was considered one of the most hated.

It wasn't that it was difficult to kill; after all, it was a mental-type spirit beast with an extremely weak physical body. Even a Soul Master could kill it if it got close.

However, this creature possessed amazing camouflage abilities, excelled at ambushes, and was naturally cautious. When attacking, it would pull its target into an illusion, only devouring it when the target was completely lost in the illusion.

If a Soul Master skilled in spiritual power encounters this Soul Beast, they might be able to put up a fight, and if they can find its true location, they might even be able to kill it. However,

if a Strength-type Soul Master, whose mind is solely focused on muscle, or an Agility-type Soul Master, encounters it, then a mere ten-thousand-year-old Illusionary Seven-Colored Lizard could easily toy with and kill a Soul Emperor.

Currently, this Illusionary Seven-Colored Lizard has been alerted and is stealthily approaching Yu Xiaowei.

Due to the mismatch in attributes, Yu Xiaowei doesn't intend to provoke it. He flashes away, rapidly disappearing into the distance.

Suddenly, an invisible wave strikes from behind. Before Yu Xiaowei can react, everything goes black, and his senses are instantly obscured.

When his vision returns, he sees the destroyed Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.

Yu Xiaowei's eyes instantly redden. He trembles as he walks through the ruins, and beneath the rubble, he sees one familiar figure after another.

Yu Xiaomeng, Yu Tianheng, Yu Tianxin…

When Yu Xiaowei saw Yu Luomian's mutilated corpse, tears streamed down his face. He rushed forward, frantically tearing away the bricks and tiles covering it, then clutched Yu Luomian's body and howled in anguish.

  "Xiaowei, run!"

  "Uncle, run!"

  "Xiaowei, don't come back, go!"

Voices echoed in his mind, familiar faces appearing before his eyes, then vanishing again.

But Yu Xiaowei ignored them all, kneeling there, weeping uncontrollably over Yu Luomian's body.

  "Xiaowei, go, go!"

Yu Yuanzhen's voice roused Yu Xiaowei from his reverie, but the scene before him filled him with utter rage.

Yu Yuanzhen's right leg was gone. Yue

Guan, whom Yu Xiaowei had met once before, was tearing at his right arm, while a strange black shadow, emitting eerie cackling laughter, severed his head with a bizarrely shaped dagger.

  "You beasts—!"

Watching Yue Guan and the others strip Yu Yuanzhen of his soul bone, Yu Xiaowei roared with heart-wrenching fury.

His eyes instantly changed color, from white with black pupils to orange with black pupils.

After a long howl, his body rapidly grew taller, no longer in his previous half-dragon form, but fully transformed into a dragon.

As crimson flames flashed, large patches of scales covered his entire body, his body continuously expanding and growing larger, solid muscles bulging.

In just a few breaths, Yu Xiaowei transformed from human form into a real Godzilla, a full twenty meters tall.

After a deafening roar, Godzilla took a heavy step forward, and the illusion created by the Seven-Colored Dream Lizard shattered instantly like a mirror.

In the Star Dou Great Forest.

In the terrified gaze of the Dreamy Seven-Colored Lizard, Yu Xiaowei, now fully conscious, grabbed its neck. With a ferocious expression, he first plucked the venomous spines from its back one by one, then crushed and tore its limbs inch by inch. Later, he even transformed into a dragon, unleashing his claws to disembowel it and remove its internal organs one by one.

The Seven-Colored Lizard now deeply regretted its tenacious will to live; it was ultimately tortured to pieces by Yu Xiaowei before finally dying.

A dazzling black spirit ring rose, and simultaneously, a spirit bone shimmering with seven colors appeared on the Dreamy Seven-Colored Lizard's corpse.

Yu Xiaowei expressionlessly picked up the spirit bone and stuffed it into his spirit tool. As for the black spirit ring, he didn't even glance at it before striding away.
